Why is KDE so good looking guys?

Why is KDE so good looking guys?
There's not a single UI in 2018 that can match this aesthetic

you're so right user

Actually I just realized that I didn't bold my window titles.
NOW it's perfect

Attached: plasmaondebian.png (1366x768, 676K)

Check out that font rendering by the way

Attached: neofetch-2018-04-07-07-52-18-2702.png (1366x768, 265K)

And OH MAN that file picker

Attached: Screenshot_20180410_000244.png (1366x768, 525K)

Too bad it just causes unbuntu to blackscreen on my chinkpad

why would you not just do a clean install of debian testing?

That barely looks anything like stock plasma

install gentoo

Literally all I did was change the font hinting and change the theme to plasma dark.

>KDE is good looking

Attached: 877g98g79.jpg (600x576, 40K)

and made the taskbar thinner
and changed the title bars
and added that window border
and changed the clock

Isn't that the point? Plasma is very customizable.

Attached: Screenshot_20180409_212304.png (1920x1080, 1.38M)

all through clicking some settings

KDE: featureful but buggy as hell. Breaks itself after any n number of sleep wake cycles
Xfce: poor multimonitor support
Gnome: awful ux, frustrating direction
Cinnamon: less useful and more buggy than xfce

Why did they can unity?
In the meantime I am very open to any suggestions or scripts to improve the KDE life. Is there no print spool manager???

>Breaks itself after any n number of sleep wake cycles
that's not true on the latest KDE in debian testing/sid

Is there a bug that is now fixed that you could point me to? Plasmashell runs into 100 cpu lock up and kwin outright crashes where I am now.

What version are you on and what distro
KDE suffers from a maintainer problem.
imo right now the best distros to use it on are:
>gentoo
>arch
>debian (5.8 on stable is...stable but very old, testing and sid have the newest versions now)
>fedora
>openpepe but not tumbleweed

breddy decent ricejob

Top bar looks great.
What theme?

Dark desktop themes are ugly as shit.

This, senpai.

Reconsider

Attached: Screenshot_20180410_032519.png (1366x768, 973K)

yes but can i have text instead of the KDE launcher icon?

>Debian uses 5.8
i prefer my konsole not using up one full core after closing, thanks.

Oh, it's the
>KDE looks so good
>look at muh garbage tier tasteless autismal theme
thread again.

thats stable, testing is on 5.12

Attached: you know Im.png (717x837, 205K)

testing is the worst debian you can use period, sid is better at this point, and KDE doesnt work well with sid because of tonnes of fucked up dependencies. KDE is just the bad choice on debian (among other distros).

You obviously don't sit in a dark room all day. What the fuck are you even doing on Jow Forums?

its just the best

Attached: Screenshot_20180329_115304.png (1600x900, 766K)

it really has the greatest customization

Attached: Screenshot_20180329_132641.png (1600x900, 383K)

...

bloatniggers.
DE is bloat and clunky. God, i hate bloatniggers. Worst of the worst

how can footfags even compete?

Attached: Screenshot_20180329_105610.png (1600x900, 333K)

that dark scheme looks awful
and that taskbar/panel is too cluttered and claustrophobic
at least replace your launcher button graphic for fucks sake

>debian

Attached: 1454349490773.jpg (535x432, 59K)

Eye cancer.

What's the icon pack?

La Capitaine

Top kek.

wow, congratulations.
Now chmod -R 777 / for maximum win.

Create an image with text, that's how many other taskbars that has text works

Too bad there is no calculator for granny

What's ugly is of course subjective, but in dark room a dark theme is easier on the eyes. On my desktop I use Breeze Dark because when I use it, I usually close my curtains and turn the lights off. On my laptop I have openSUSE's regular light theme though.

Thanks man

Both Debian and KDE are complete shit.
Debian has unironically given me more problems during installation than any other distro. And apt is the worst package manager in history.
KDE is bloat and nothing more.

breeze dark for desktop and panels, breeze white for colors, sierrabreeze for window decorations

>single click opens folder

lolno. Soylarized is even worse than the usual dark themes.

wtf user

Attached: Screenshot_20180410_134125.png (1920x1080, 998K)

>puts cancel/OK in the wrong order
>psst nothing personnel kid

>using a launcher / application menu at all when krunner exists

>Debian has unironically given me more problems during installation than any other distro
PEBKAC. You're one of those faggots who thinks not including proprietary, binary driver for ChinkCorp's WiFi adapter your shit laptop uses is a bad thing, aren't you?

How do you make it look so good my dude
(Sorry i'm a newfag)

i think a screenfetch can tell you everything you need

>gimp
>not krita

Attached: .png (804x743, 22K)

why can't i use both

u can use photoshop

but i don't like it

Hey Mathew

fucking weeb

you are literally posting this on anime website

>you are literally posting this on anime website
lmfao, Jow Forums stopped being an anime site a long time ago. Welcome to 2018, neckbeard.

i don't have a beard
sorry

this new blur looks awesome

>There's not a single UI in 2018 that can match KDE's shitty font rendering
nice

you're wrong, plasma has great font rendering

What font is this? San Francisco?

right

not for me, user. any font looks like shit, it may be my resolution (poorfag 1366x768), but xfce does a much better job

>PEBKAC. You're one of those faggots who thinks not including proprietary, binary driver for ChinkCorp's WiFi adapter your shit laptop uses is a bad thing, aren't you?
It autistically complains regardless.

>2018
>not posting anime

looks like everything else

for all you blur lovers
store.kde.org/p/1221562/

Isnt 5.13 adding that and more?

what do you mean by adding that?
it's a separate theme

What window manager theme, user? It looks stylish af.

Attached: 29572813_882746925228507_942379482770428116_n.jpg (900x960, 105K)

The ability to blur windows regardless of theme is coming to a future update

i think that's just a customized breeze

>i3
>xfce with openbox
>kde on debian testing

>t. pajeet who uses his computer for porn and shitposting, and cannot suffer from eyestrain

based gnomefag throwing truthbombs.
post your extensions

Breeze. Go into the window decoration options and click the little icon inside the sample window preview thing, tons of options in there.

I thought it was only for context menus, not window decorations.

how do you remove the bottom bar of the terminal? Or is this a opensuse thing? Also how did you manage to move the menu bar to the top?

Attached: Screenshot_20180410_170752.png (752x471, 80K)

whats wrong with tumbleweed

FUCK KDE
HOW COME THERE'S NO OFFICIAL CINNAMON UBUNTU

Attached: 1449450895708.png (731x863, 209K)

Is this latte dock? Is your top bar latte also? What does the magnifying glass in the top right do?

Not him, had it recently installed on my system and an update completely killed basic funcionalities.

>kde didn't work anymore
>terminal was fucked up beyond belief (deleting characters was not possible anymore)
>yast didn't start anymore, only got an error when trying to start it
switched to leap after that desu.

I still don't understand why they activated one-click-to-open-folder by default on KDE. It's annoying af

not him but go to options and look for tab bar and for the menu bar use the global menu widget

It's only annoying because you're not used to it. I used solely linux for years with one-click-open being the norm then using windows and having to double click on shit was annoying AF.

that's certainly true. I never encountered the one click thing before though, even though I used unity and xfce for a while. Confused me just like you were confused because windows doesn't have a one click to open option activated by default.

Thats just rolling release in general things break sometimes this is also why btrfs snapshots are setup by default

Who knows but at least there is an option and you aren't forced to use it because some sort of "vision"

The only real problem I have with it is I don't think the option should be in mouse settings
