This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
I don't have a diver right now but that's what I'm gonna do when I get one.

A girl came in with a battery change. She was cute, but full of tats. One on her arm was Mickey Mouse with his face torn off. Seriously who wants to look at that while fucking her? Or generally being around her for that matter?
There is 7 billion people on this earth. There is always someone who'd like that, mainly people who'd wear a donald duck with ripped off face on their arm.
Nathan Richardson
What watch is it?
Post your girlfriends collections, lads!
Dominic Clark
user, don't try to understand normies...
Lincoln Davis
Not him, but I bet it was a M. Kors.
Daniel Nguyen
I just use my right-hand kashios stopwatch
Dominic Powell
$1 chinkshit with SL68 movement. Her tats probably cost more than my entire shitter collection, but a $1 shitter rotting her arm is fine.
>He discussed plans to further open up the Chinese economy, including "significantly" lowering import tariffs for autos, decreasing duties on other products, enforcing the legal intellectual property of foreign firms and improving the investment environment for international companies.
Looks like the days of replica watches might be numbered.
Japan did it, then Korea did it, now China is doing it. The question is which SEA countries are going to take up the cheap industry mantle. Atm its looking like Vietnam largely
Justin Butler
Is this what's used in denzel washington, m.kors etc? I've been curious exactly how much those shitters are really worth.
Ayden Nelson
No, these are used in the fakes of those watches. Even the shittiest fashion brand will use a $1 Japanese movement.
Very funny, I actually serviced it myself. The Vostok 22mm is a not bad movement family, though it's trickier to work on and regulate than the later 24mm that replaced it.
>Wants to show off finishing >Thinks it's actually nice >Yet, makes a picture with the whole dial faded by the light distorted on the glass, so we can't see shit
Nicholas Ortiz
>Actually serviced it myself We didn't expect less from you hugaroanon. How accurate could vintage slavs get ?
Reasonably accurate, like well within a minute a day.
But this is only reasonable if you wear many watches in rotation, each for only a day at a time. 60s/d is going to be a lot by the end of the week if you wear it regularly though. It was originally an ukrainian franken though, so trying to get more than that out of it would be a waste of effort. At least it's clean with no beat error, and I got it to be watertight to at least 50 meters.
Camden Sanchez
How do I open up the fucking Poljot de luxe? I taped a box cutter but shit's not moving.
(same user) Are there any good quality bracelets which can work properly with this watch? Idc if they're more expensive than the watch itself I'm just looking for good options. The stock one isn't half bad for the price and I like how the ae1200 looks on it but obviously it feels cheap.
Seiko should have gone all the way. Kill the art of watchmaking, burn Switzerland to the ground, gas the fedoras.
Secure the watch in a case holder if you're not doing that already. Box cutters come to a point which doesn't give you any leverage, most caseback knives have a rounded blade to give more contact area.
Hunter Myers
It looks great in natural light, obviously a $300 chink shitter isn't going to be flawless if you look at it through 40x magnification and when the only source of light is a spotlight.
That dude is phenomenally clueless. As if the Swiss weren't working towards quartz themselves, or the same inevitable race to the bottom wouldn't have occurred if the Swiss had popularized quartz rather than Seiko.
Joseph Carter
The strap is finally here. Now 2 more months till Ukrainian post ships my new slavshit. Nice penis. Is it just lighting or is the dial that beige color?
It also ignores the fact that CEH was set up to make a watch with a good battery life to compete with electric calibers, which was what most people at the time were focused on.
David Ramirez
We use it for contracts and legal documents that come partially preprinted on that old style paper with holes on the sides. It makes a lot of noise but it sure can turn out documents
Joshua Price
I don't have a sister but this watch would certainly stop me doing that.
Not a site just a random TD on RWG, the fake manufacturing house is called "ZF", don't know if any others are making these at the moment.
Justin Rivera
>I really want to ~~buy a Nixon Regulus, but the black one is out of stock, and the khaki and gun metal~~ look gay
Daniel Long
i think the sand colored one looks good
Zachary Thompson
>Seiko should have gone all the way. Kill the art of watchmaking, burn Switzerland to the ground, gas the fedoras. It still might happen, in light of the likelihood of am eventual MEMS revolution in watch movements. If engineered silicon oscillators become a trend, Seiko Epson would likely have a leg up as they have a full blown semiconductor division and more experience with MEMS manufacturing than anyone else in the watchmaking industry. Hell, Grand Seiko already has their own LIGA laboratory.
If Seiko decides to get into that game, they have a real shot at being the best and most cost effective at it.
Lincoln Garcia
Seiko refuses to use silicon in mechanical movements though.
Xavier Morgan
Asian genes. I don't mind too much though, vintage pieces look modern-sized on my wrist instead.
I've been wanting to either remove it or replace the crystal entirely but I'm too preoccupied with other project pieces. Currently restoring a 6694 that was both redialed and needs a new mainspring.
Jaxson Green
Seiko refuses to use silicon in mechanical movements though. They've been very clear about this, and wouldn't be good PR if they suddenly made a 360° turn and moonwalk into silicon escapements.
Jackson Evans
Nice strap choice.
Jacob Morris
DUMB ASF DESU SILLICON CRISIS WHEN
Eli Taylor
why they use quartz in their highest end models
why so bigoted about silicon?
Colton Myers
No one's shitted on my fossil yet
Josiah Nelson
*shat on your fossil.
Luke Cox
Thanks, user. It's pretty nice albeit little stiff since I just got it.
