This is the point and should've been what gender equality advocacy is about. It's also harder to fuck up as an industry if there's more diversity.

That said, most women I know and worked with are far more diligent than a lot of men in terms of rigour and work ethic. I think it's because those that made it are probably the top 1% of women whereas there's a lot more variation in men (and also Dunning-Kruger effect).

Also a lot of women devs I know are usually much more qualified (MSc CompSci, Machine Learning, Data Science and such) than the men I know (self taught webdev in mom's basement). A lot of them either end up staying in school or leaving industry to do postdocs, probably because industry is full autism and work environment in IT is absolutely shit.

Yep, studies say women work 2 or 3 years in IT and change career or become manager, but women leaving begin count as evil toxic hostile men.
