I don't listen to anything. Hell, I hate distractions especially if I'm stuck with something.

The only right answer.

I see your irony and I chuckled

Extreme majestic technical epic melodic metal

...

While programming, usually upbeat stuff like future funk or chiptune.

When I'm doing sysadmin shit, usually more ambient stuff and lounge.

I've started to listen to classical music lately and it's been working wonders.

Holy shit, I posted this to plebbit way back in 2011. Did anyone else ITT ever contribute to Jow Forums culture or internet culture in general?

>is it gay if I like backstreet boys?
why do you need the approval of the faggots on Jow Forums to listen to the music you like ?

yes

Ambient is nice.
It's only gay if you're gay.

anything that doesn't need track changes. german house music like robag wruhme. epic idm like mike paradinas. "jamtronica" like sts9 and the disco biscuits. long tracks, steady beats, interesting flourishes of harmony. motivating and non-distracting. on the other end of the spectrum, most classical music works too.

That's pretty gay but at least it's not anime.
