Just buy your fucking music instead. No one is stopping you dipshit.
Is his only argument come down to sharing with a friend? lol
Pretty sure he's saying it like that as an euphemism, user.
Will do
>spotify
literally who
Out, out!
Streaming service for music.
>Paying for streamed music
Yeah no.
$20 for a CD
>by listening to music that is non-local, you are being a jerk
>also it is oppressive
I hugely respect RMS for his contributions to GNU/Linux and for his staunch support for freedom, but a lot of his ideas and opinions are outright insane.
Software developed by VLC. It's CEO, the billionaire Zuckerberg was in the news recently for deleting his accounts (spacex, Playboy, and.more) from Facebook.
>Stallman
>friends
lmao
Says you fag.
literal jewish somalians
what kind of music does he likes? traditional stuff with pan flute?
dumb tripcode poster
Are you aware that this website isn't about upvotes but content?
Fuck off
In the second interview with lunduke he was talking about his music preferences. Don't remember anything tho doe to the booze.
He like traditional folk music, so there's probably a pan flute in there somewhere.
hahaha suck it retards
Seriously, I've never stopped ripping my vinyls to ogg and shoving them on my music player, and later, on my phone. People today act kike no Spotify means no music just like thy imply no Facebook means no friends. Fuck this shit.
My nigga.
I was sure it was something like that, folk music suits him well desu
I hope they'll never modernize the UI, shit is perfect
For the non-stallmanites: the "jerk" works like this:
>friend asked you to share this cool song
Them you are in a dilemma any whatever way you go, you're a faggot:
>way a
You comply with the DRM/license of the song and don't share it with your friend
>ur a jerk
>way b
You don't comply and violate the drm/license,be a good citizen, but violate the kae and become q criminal
>ur a jerk
That's the dilemma of anything proprietary, be it software or music, but in case of Spotify, when you even start using the service, you support something that gives wet shites about artists also.
Many artists fucked off of Spotify already, Tay Tay included.
>Buying every single album you ever want to listen to on vinyl
What's the point of Spotify anyway? Just keep all your music on a micro SD and just insert it into any device you want to listen to music on. Easy
I pirate all my music.
>just spend a million years and terabytes downloading it all bro
curation and discovering new shit when you're lazy I guess, a bit the same as netflix. I dunno I don't use it
>thinking any one person needs terabytes of music
>discovering music on spotify
what kind of plebeian taste do you have
Stallman is retarded
But that doesn't mean Spotify isn't also kikery
Ok, I'll pirate it then
i havent owned a hard drive or other storage media for years, it's simply not needed anymore
Could literally care less what some fat old man who is egotistical and tries to remind everyone how he is the one that made Linux what it is today thinks about others things when his argument is "I like don't like so it shouldn't exist".
n't
>hey guys just put everything in the cloud what could possibly go wrong with trying to outsource all of your data storage
>implying I use that shit
Yeah, no, lurk more faggot
Ok, I will delete my account right now.
sometimes i delete all my flac so i can enjoy downloading it again
>Buy
Look at this retard
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as piracy, is in fact, unauthorized copying, or as I've recently taken to calling it, unauthorized sharing. Piracy is not the act of obtaining an unauthorized copy of a copyrighted work, but rather robbery or criminal violence at sea.
Many computer users make unauthorized copies every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the act which is widely performed today is often called piracy, and many of the people who do it are not aware that it is basically copying, and not stealing.
There really is a piracy, and some people are doing it, but it is just robbery at sea. Piracy is an act of theft: an action at sea in which goods are forcefully transferred from one ship to another. Piracy is important to be aware of, but unrelated to unauthorized copying; it can only function at sea. Piracy is normally not used in combination with unauthorized copying: the two acts are basically seperate. All the so-called piracy is really unauthorized copying.
I only listen to nst/psf/spc/vgz/usf/2sf/hes/sid/kss/gsf/gbs/xm/it/mod/s3m/mid/rmi music, so i don't need to stop listening to spotify as i never did in first place.
I love you.
I never started but I'll make an account to stop. Thanks for the advice
>not using spotify but blocking ads
>not buying merch and going to shows of artists you like
I miss old Jow Forums.
i only listen to dead people
>listening to shit tier free spotify
I'm no audiophile but that's genuinely awful user I feel bad for you
Even easier then :^)
I unironically can't tell the difference between free spotify and 320kbs mp3's. Perhaps because I'm always using $15 earbuds.
Correct. That's like trying to view 4K on a 720p laptop tn panel
>2018
>not listening to purely math-based procedurally generated music
>not familiarizing yourself with L-functions by listening to the harmonics produced by them for several hours a day
>not going a step further and harvesting gamma rays and amplifying the output into audible signals so you can literally listen to space music
fucking plebs i swear
No love for pokey?
I just deleted my Spotify account, thanks for the reminder. Before that I hadn't been using it much.
Same here. Based OP.
Yeah, i should get into atari stuff, other than jaguar.
I only listen to lsdj chiptunes anyway. The good /tech/ stuff isn't on Spotify.
Greyscale makes some good stuff, check them out some time
youtube.com
Freetards really believe this shit
>nonoppressive copy
I love the big guy but typing like a sjw just makes him sound like an sjw....
>(((Stallman)))
>sound like an assjew
Who'da thunk
>newfag shit talking someone that has contributed more to this board than 90% of anonymous posters ever will
It's not summer this early, what gives?
based
Musicians should get a real job and I don't need to share music with anyone
No.
>Spotify
Never used it really since comicket artists don't usually get their music there.
Wonder if Stallman thinks conventional radio is non-oppresive?
Based. So many good albums are not on streaming services.
Reminder that EFF stopped PayPal or whoever from blocking donations to them.
>I can't tell if he actually wrote this or not
I did when they started banning people for using modified apks
>current year
>people still stream music
Wew...
> bad for musicians income
> instead pirate
people should die
Stop trying to tell people what to do. No one cares what you think
>spotify pirates music and sells it to normies for profit
>lone virgin Jow Forumsfag pirates and listens to music for himself
There were some charts around a few years ago that showed how many copies of your song (or plays) you'd need to shift on Spotify to get any sort of return.
It was horrifying. It made iTunes look very, very good.
He's smarter than you, sonny jim
>homeless man mad that spotify is cracking down on dogfood
shocking
>be using soulseek
>find favourite song
>leech it
>user who owned file complains that I'm not seeding
Feels good desu
I never used it to begin with, checkmate idiots.
The best kind of music. Libre music.
youtu.be
This. OP stop being an autistic fuck
Spotify pays its artists more per play than Apple Music (streaming) and Google Play Music (streaming).
Except that's wrong on both counts.
>People today act kike
gas the Spotify kikes
Never been a fan of renting shit that I could just buy. As soon as I'm done renting I don't have the thing I rented *or* the money I spent renting it.
r8 my music video collection
You're right, I misremembered. Thanks
>unauthorized sharing
>state enforced sharing
Bullshit, stop lying.
>$20 for 1 CD
>piracy is a pain and takes up a lot of time getting good quality
Spotify is the best for music, 320kbps audio and has nearly every song available.
Would be nice not to pay but people make the music and gotta be paid somehow. This is the best legal way to do so and it's pretty cheap.
>storing videostream rips
>not obtaining uncompressed prores files straight from the label databases
...
ew
I was in the car with two friends of mine earlier this year going on a road trip when one of them asked me "what do you want to listen to?". Everyone laughed when I asked "what are my options?", including the mother of one of them. "It's Spotify, dude, it has everything".
no you dumb nigger
what hes saying is use bandcamp which lets you download DRM free
I can't use it. Not officialy in Slovenia.
>takes a long time to get good quality
You what?
And lets you set the price if the artist allows that.
Turn the trip back on, nerd. I hope you don't actually take pride in contributing content to this board, of all places.
It's a reference to Shakespeare. Search "out damn spot".
