Take machine learning course

>take machine learning course
>99% of it is calculus and linear algebra
Wtf bros, you told me CS has minimal math

I guaratee you nobody told you that

>Being this retarded
Machine Learning is pretty much pure mathematics you mong.

this
and this

Basic CS (think a bachelor's degree) has minimal math. Machine learning is advanced. You messed up

kys it isn't
regards, pure mathematician

But it is, stop LARPing
t. mathematics major

Too bad you're both brainlets
t. PhD in Physics

I had machine learning in my bachelor's as an elective.
And the general math courses had a ton of linear algebra.

>take multidimensional calc and linear algebra one semester
>couple semesters later take an ML course as an elective for my CompE degree
>watch all the CS babbies sink because they only need to take up to differential calculus (one variable)

Feels good man

>statistics, applied linalg and calc
>pure mathematics
lmao

Computational theory is the purer than most of what math majors end up doing.

>calc, lin. alg
literally the definition of minimal math for a functional adult

Leave it to an engineer :^)

I have a math bachelors and CS bachelor's and haven't used anything other than basic algebra and trig my 16 years in the field

I can't really call myself a functional adult but I never had any need to calculate an Eigenspace outside of uni.

>this same shitpost
>every
>fucking
>day
>listens to anonymous
>wtf man whyd you tell me to do that!
>every
>fucking
>time
why haven't you drank bleach yet?

Who said that? Obviously they're an idiot and you're more so for believing them. Computation is literally math.

>machine learning
>as an elective
machine learning is a graduate program. you can't cover it in one semester. most likely you took a "survey of machine learning" or intro class, they offer those to get you interested in graduate programs sometimes

>study applied mathematics
>get surprised that it is actual maths

>Basic CS (think a bachelor's degree)
My bachelor's had 80 out of 180 credits maths in them, that were mandatory classes. It wasn't until master level that I could pick and choose.

>boilerplating some tensorflow rules in python
>graduate program
kek

This is what webshits actually believe

>CS has minimal math
Said no one ever

fucking trolled another one

I don't even know what machine learning is, I'm just making shit up

I know you are, which is why you think you can only learn it as an entire graduate program.

You probably heard programming doesn't take much math, which is generally true.

well then I guess it's a good thing we're all anonymous so you won't recognize me in the next thread huh? ahahahaha

this

Tfw just finished my math phd and literally cannot stop earning 300k

No one told you CS is just math with some programming?

I know the feel and I didnt even do my phd just master and got a leading position right out of uni, feels good to have my code monkey slaves

Maybe it's graduate by CS standards
They could easily teach it in undergraduate in math or physics, they have the IQ and mathematical tools to handle it
