Nigga no. That would be like the Canadian dollar being as much as the American dollar because they are both called dollars.

i've been told that once by someone i don't remember who. thanks for clarifying though

I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere 'till i finish college and can't work anywhere.
Been looking for a remote gig but people are more demanding, for obvious reasons.
Been building up and studying for the last two years.

The best way out of your situation is to pick a market and build shit as a portfolio. Want to get into mobile? Make some Android or iOS apps? Web? Make some single-page web app or something. Lots of companies will be happy to hire remote talent if you show you are capable and communicative.

Australia

switzerland

93k USD

Thats basically what I have in mind. And I think I might do it for the next three to four days, because I believe this last year will have to be extended for another one due to my research. Thank you for the kind advice.
I have everything going for me, i'm quite communicative and a english speaker since I was six or seven, so there wouldn't be a communication barrier. It's just landing the gig that has been hard, but I've been receiving replies from application so the interest is there.

I love living here in the countryside and the internet is not bad and it's pretty safe. If I, for example, get a remote job I'd be set for life.

Really depends where in the country you are OP. In Idaho you might only make 40-60k as junior software engineer, while in California you could start at close to 200k. The Idaho you would have a 3 story house with money to burn on whatever he wants, while the guy in California will struggle to pay 7000/month for his 200sqft apartment.

No, it is after taxes and health insurance.

It's 450€ per week, so 1800€ per month.

isn't that a good salary in Greece?

i thought they were poor over there

Netherlands, West Europe
Java

Generally yes, it's a good salary, BUT a senior developer could earn up to 2500€-3000€/month

Country: Serbia
Language : C++
How much you earn: 0 USD
Juniors get around 600-800 eur when they start.
Seniors get ~2000 euros

Just bash?

I live in a really poor city.

What the fuck do you use Prolog in 2018 for

Mathematical proofs of various theorems to be implemented in neural networks. I am a logician not a developer.

> meme langs

K.....

It's cool but if you're form any "state uni" it's a shithole. I mean they don't evening know arithmetics and calculus, and the courses that I dictate (Power Electrical Systems, Electronical Systems, and the equivalent of thesis courses) needs that competences. They pay 9ish clp if you're an engineer, 12 with msc, and 14 with PhD. As a comparison in the Uni I got almost 35k/hour with the engineer degree, almost 41 with the msc and 49 with the PhD.

Fuck that's amazing. Currently working on optimization (linear and non linear) and it's amazing.

^ That is pretty much what a junior software engineer earns here, speaking as one. Though it really depends where you got the job, some pay up to 10.000 dollars less.
