Hey guys.

Attached: aaaaa4.png (560x625, 216K)

I like DT990s.

Am... am I broken?

Are wooden cups a meme? I want to own atleast one but I'm skeptical.

It's just a fashion cans thing.

I love chifi

Attached: _20180413_175341.jpg (2448x3092, 1.4M)

So they suck?

They just don't do anything special.

can i see the mousepad?

danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1219754

Best mic for under 200? Blue yeti?

oh that's good, great show :)

Earphone?

KZ ZS10
It's one of my favorites. Watashi a cute.

I thought KZ earphone only up until ZS6.

How is the sound?

Been thinking of getting the
beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 ohm
Are they worth it for 115

Attached: beyerdynamic-dt-770-pro-80-ohm-closed-studio-headphones_1_REC0003047-000.jpg (1600x1600, 186K)

New at $115?

Pretty balanced, sounds a bit "low fi" but there's no ear rape treble like the ZS5/6. Excellent for $30.

Yes senpai

New that's a steal

Sweet
one last question would i have any problems using these on my phone

guys this is a problem, if ww3 happens will the l300le get delayed again?

Attached: k2U96iE.jpg (698x1280, 111K)

Worth it if you prefer closed back and bassy heaphone. I bought new at $200.
Make sure you have proper amp 250 ohm.

Any Recommendations on a decent amp for under 150

tl;dr: Can you get deeper ear pads for the HD 569? The circled part touches the edge of my ear and I hate it.

Blogpost: I hate headphones because I hate anything touching my ears, but an autist sits close to me at work now and he does nothing but loudly chew ice and curse to himself so I need something to drown out his aural 'tism.

I went to a few stores around town and only three headphones I've tried on are close to comfortable enough for me to be willing to purchase - the Bose QC35II and Soundlink II, and the Sennheiser HD 569. The two Bose have identical construction from a comfort perspective, but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend the money on the QC so it comes down to the HD 569 and the Soundlink. The Sennheiser have bigger cups and a nicer headband, but are heavier and have the problem I mention in my tl;dr.

Sound-wise, I am a philistine so comfort is the most important thing. Sadly the demo 569 was not hooked up to anything so I couldn't give it a listen, but the Soundlink was fine, I guess? I'm sure the regulars here will shit on me for considering it, but it is what it is.

I personally use UD125 for Amp/DAC and satisfied with it.

stoneracoustics.com/ud125/

Or you can try fx audio dac-x6.

Yes. Sound slow, thin and not enough bass.

>comfort is the most important thing.
Takstar Pro 82

>and curse to himself
I do this compulsively. It's some form of Tourette's.

>Takstar Pro 82
Given how fussy I am, I'm not willing to buy anything without trying it on first. Thanks for the suggestion though.

DT770 perhaps? The pads are big and deep, i have the DT880 and my ears don't touch the inside.

How's this thing?

amazon.com.au/dp/B075JCRR36/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_r3w0AbE4FXC4A

>tfw too cheap to buy a case

Attached: IMG_20180413_230440__01.jpg (2908x2120, 1.33M)

Please don't suggest the fx audio dac x6 to people. It is, no shit, missing up to 7db of treble at 20k starting all the way back at like 5khz. It really is unacceptably bad. I own one and can confirm the treble issue as well.
The only valid reason to buy it is if you have exactly $65 and need something that can drive a 250ohm beyer.
If you don't need that much power a fiio e10k is way better, if you do need the power something like a micca origen is better.

Should I pull the trigger on the takstar pro 82 for 50 bucks, already own a pair of Seinheiser 579

>have sound blaster z
>want OBJECTIVE2+ODAC REV B or THE ELEMENT
>Reviewers say they can't hear a differnce between the three

I have Sennheiser HD 650, what do Jow Forums?

Rollin rectifiers

C'mon nigga don't get snake oil'd
O2 is built to be incredibly transparent and it is.
You probably don't need a DAC, and ODAC isn't that good. Get a cheap DAC and the O2 and you are now at the pinnacle of hi-fi.

I know how tempting it is to upgrade source gear, especially if you already like your headphones but you're almost always better off just buying another headphone or not spending the money at all unless there is something wrong with your source.
50 usd? Yeah, I would, that is a great price.
Those things look insane, can't imagine how much they cost.

Yeah

NFB-11.28

I can get headphones for these prices where I work, which is the best one to grab? Prices are in USD.

Attached: 20180413_210508.jpg (2880x2160, 1.66M)

I like the way the hd 650 sounds.

the o2+odac is snake oil?

HD800s easily. You could always get a hd800 and mod it for less but there is value in the better paint job of the hd800s.
The lcd-x isn't horrible but I would say it's notably inferior to the hd800s unless you specifically want planar bass in which case you're still better off with a lcd2c/he500.

HD800S
Check what you can get the regular HD800 for first, though.

Why the fuck is this $30?

Attached: 2134324.png (859x623, 112K)

yeah 50 usd shipping included, althought its 20-30 day shipping

Not a whole lot off.

Attached: 20180413_211942.jpg (2880x2160, 1.18M)

If you have the patience and need a closed back you may as well pick it up? Ive yet to find a closed back or IEM that I enjoy listening to but takstar pro 82 is on my list.
Take the 800s for the paint job and lack of having to mod it.
Because it is. The element is like $10 more expensive than a well equip oldac+o2. I suggest a topping d10 and a magni 3 though if you really want to replace that sound blaster though.

Get the HD800S.

I like the all in one format of the jds labs equipment. I don't want a bunch of wires on my my desk.

>The element is like $10 more expensive than a well equip oldac+o2

Might as well get the element then.

Attached: IMG_20180326_112430.jpg (3264x2448, 1.34M)

teach me about dacs please

So, an unfortunate story time. A family member has damaged my Stax (SR-L700) cable, putting something heavy on the cable. Now I get sound in one channel only in very specific cable position.
Is Stax hard to fix/solder to? I've fixed and recabled other headphones before, but idea of opening up Stax makes me really nervous.
I'm thinking about ordering cable extension from Stax, cutting off strain reliefs from the stock cable and gluing them to extension cable cut in half, making my own cable assembly this way.

Any good bluetooth headphone or earphone around 100dollars? I need one for my no headphone jack phone.

yikes

What would you like to know?

buy TOPPING

support your chinese friends in the effort to beat the israeli-american military complex, and remember to pray for assad.

Is it still worth it to get the HD800S if I have an HD600? I want several tiers up on what I have, and I don't know if they're good enough.

yes

t. HD600 and HD800 owner

Yeah the HD800S is just better in every way.

Audio pleb here, how noticeable is the improvement in audio quality with a dedicated DAC? I didn't get one alongside my 02 and HD6XXs since I figured it wasn't as essential. When I listen to Tiger Trap (never noticed it in anything else) I can hear a bit of distortion on some songs, I guess a DAC would eliminate that, unless the mix or files are just fucked, which I doubt.

I just ordered my pair of hd600s from Amazon. Not even memeing. In my 30 years of living it'll be my first high quality pair of headphones, or cans as everyone likes to call them. I'm feeling pretty good.

Attached: 1522435284746.jpg (1200x967, 121K)

You're better off putting that money towards the Stax L700. Look up Z's sound demo on JewTube. They're godly cans.

lo-fi zeos meme

L700 are also almost twice the price considering the energizer and the sound signature isn't as much likeable as the HD800.

>can’t imagine how much they cost.

Woo Audio just released a mk2 version, so these mk1 are popping up for sale. I found this one for almost 1/2 off retail.

Stax are garbage

(you)

>ear rape treble
>likeable

Let's end this silly debate.

HD800s - youtube.com/watch?v=anNzbMon2ac

Stax L700 - youtube.com/watch?v=xduaRfSfTzk

You cannot sit here and tell me with a straight face that the HD800s is superior.

Stax have big ass solder joints. It's hard to fuck up.

>taking advice from a fatass with hearing damage

Attached: 1463625290262.png (314x278, 129K)

Right, I'll be sure to ignore HD800posters then.

Has /hpg/ always been full of Stax apologists?

L300LE post-purchase rationalization
literal zeos meme

Jow Forums likes outdated retro tech. Just look at the Thinkpad thread.

You're gonna end up with hearing damage too if you continue to listen to the HD800s. Seriously the tremble on those things are disgusting. You can hear it in the video.

Yes. Whine more faggot.

>imblign i'm a HD800 apologist

Attached: 1432426630365.png (549x560, 258K)

treble is detail. literal high frequency information.

if you want warm gooey audiophile messes, I think SBAF has open registrations.

>treble is detail

WROOOOOOOOONG

No seriously, what the fuck. That's so very wrong.

Nah, it's a relatively new thing. Just post purchase rationalization like most shills here.

>high frequency information isn't detail
shove a tube up your ass faggot

Nigga, I can turn the treble up in my 30 year old Chevy and make it sound just as ear-bleeding good. Treble is not detail.

i guess beyer engineers and axel grell & his team just reached similar endpoints just because they want to "ear rape" their customers

really joggin the noggin

HD650 is well-known to be objectively better than the HD600.

It comes down to preference. But the HD800s really doesn't have as much detail as the L700. To compensate it just has too much treble, but some people may like that. I don't.

>It comes down to preference
This, for everything

I've tried both. The only thing it offers over the 600 is a slightly wider soundstage.

What amp/source did you use to compare them?

A good one.

The main thing is that the HD650 has matched drivers. HD600 does not.

Attached: HD650 channel matching.png (928x960, 104K)

Oh that’s too bad, on a really good one their differences would have been more obvious.

guys i got early stages of tinnitus. what do? I haven't listened to anything all week and have been wearing earplugs constantly.
Am I fucked?

find a young refugee and harvest their ears

What do you think the 600 has over the 650?

They're literally the same headphones. Same drivers, same signature.
Old HD650 used to have a very different sound, but newer ones with Sennheiser's revisions were so close to the HD600 that they discontinued it and sold it on Massdrop.
HD650 has better driver matching. By better I mean "less random", because Sennheiser is easily one of the worst at matching.

earplugs are probably making it worse. did you use iems regularly? how old are you and what range is the tinnitus peaking

>tfw got tinnitus too after blasting my ears with the kannons
It went away this afternoon but I'm gonna put those down for a couple days and maybe not keep the dial at 10.

Attached: tfw_you_are_Kureha.png (425x1275, 207K)

im pretty sure i got it from long listening with open back headphones. I use IEMs when i go out though. I am 23 and it's pretty high frequency.
How can earplugs make it worse?
