TEN CURRY COMMANDMENTS pastebin.com/raw/dBbdE73M

I'm downloading about 5000 torrents right now in qbittorrent and I'm worried about storage space. Is there a way to extract the total size of all the torrents and add them up?

Reposting from the last thread.

Attached: 1288586371943.png (950x674, 420K)

I wonder why they capitalized otaku.

I don't know. I really want to know if I need to order more hard drives in the next two months, though.

Make it a 12 tb!

Likely never. 391k of attack surface is hard to penetrate.

I have 70TB of usable storage right now on RAID6.

Is there a way to export my torrent list to text or excel or something?

has anyone tried the nyaa.eu client? is it worth it or just a meme

Delete some anime!

Are you retarded or trolling?

Best SBC for a seeding machine + Fileserver?

Need to be seeding 1500-2000 torrents, mostly inactive ones.
But the SBC should be capable of:
Saturating the 100/100 internetconnection simulaniously AND be able to deliver at least 10MB/s, better 30MB/s within network (streaming music/movies) at the same time.
No heavy I/O besides catching on freeleeches and listening to music/watching movies by one machine.
Requirements would be: Ethernet capable of 300Mbit/s net, 2GB RAM minimum to be able to cache torrent files to keep I/O of the HDD to a minimum.
Ideally: USB3 or Sata connector.

Thinking about Orange/Banana Pi, or even Odroid/Udoo/Up, with the latter options being quite (too) expensive.

make your own simple script to walk the download folder and add each folder name
if u want to add the torrents name
u will have to process the torrent file, its doable ,albeit little more hard

That's the opposite of what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to create a backup of all anime ever created in anticipation of AB and BakaBT getting shut down (it's coming).

Have an original (hyper-rare) earth-tan.

Attached: 1309549685925.png (765x691, 232K)

Do RED instead.

better build the cheapest x86 build u can
sbc will always suffer
IO is shit

>RAID6
Absolutely disgusting

>backup of all anime ever created in anticipation of AB and BakaBT getting shut down
The anime is in the computers of the people idiot, not on the sites. You should lurk for a while before posting. Go watch a video on how torrents work or something.

>backup of all anime ever created
how about making yourself useful to humanity and upload instead movies/music/apps/books or whatever to any other site?

Take the case of rare anime X. You can't buy it on DVD or BD or at all. 4 people in the entire world are seeding it. The government comes in and shuts down piracy on the entire internet. Now only 4 people in the entire world have it, and over time either the HDD will break or they'll delete it for space. Now that anime is lost forever because there's no archival copy anywhere, even with the studio that technically owns the rights to it. Now another anime is lost forever to future generations. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

I'm planning to eventually convert over to RAID1 and have multiple backup sites, but I'm just starting right now. There's too much talk about internet laws to wait any longer.

Pic related is Turoru-tan.

brainlet quesiton about rutorrents seed time+ratio groups. if i have to restart rtorrent for some reason, does the clock for the seed time go back to zero and start over, or does it save its previous state?

Where the heck are you getting the money for this?

I have a job and I saved up the money to buy the initial hardware.

You're doing it wrong

user u fighting a nobel fight
but u will lost to entorpy

Is it really worth to spend time and money to get into a private tracker? I'm fine with the stuff on rarbg honestly it's high enough quality, not that yifi shit

If you have to ask, no.

It's a fun hobby and you get some content on the side.

You're not wrong. I barely have time to sit down and enjoy anime anymore, compared to when I was NEET. But this is a job that needs to be done for posterity.

It's a losing battle worth fighting.

I strongly suggest suicide

Hey guys, I use qBittorrent. I have three external hard drives that I'm sometimes disconnecting to plug in on my tv. I shut down qBittorrent while I'm doing it.

Is there a way to stop the torrents from one hard drive with this shitty torrent client or not?

Which trackers recruit from MAM?

Oh, my bad, I found how to. It's not a shitty torrent client after all.

no

No don't worry it's still pretty incredibly shitty.

the only one that matters is apollo

See

See

kek, u do what u got to do to advance

>advance
>apollo
good one

>1 Thou shalt not use seedboxes.
seedboxes is private trackers on easy mode, no harm in it
>2 Thou shalt collect no trackers beyond Cabal.
true, unless the Epeen trackers, a tier above Cabal
>3 Thou shalt make no posts in the forum.
yes sir
>4 Thou shalt respect staff to their face but mock them on /ptg/ or OT IRC.
does OT irc even still exist? we all moved to a secret channel #s.....
>5 Thou shalt not accept unofficial invites.
obviously
>6 Thou shalt not donate to trackers.
I've donated to all
>7 Thou shalt not invite anyone to any tracker, furthermore thou shalt not accept invites to any tracker except through official recruitment.
obviously and already covered in 5 dumbass
>8 Thou shalt not hoard buffer.
nah, seedboxes mean you get mad buffer lad
>9 Thou shalt not leech without seeding.
in certain cases this is fine
>10 Thou shalt always having a big heart (for you).
yes sir, and always doing the needful

u go look on MaM and tell me how u advance the to the top. from the offcial tracker recruitment threads

Holy shit EMP is such a shitty curry tracker but there's no better alternative for 3dpd pr0n. The amount of unseeded and poorly seeded uploads is unreal for a private tracker.Not even mentioning all the duplicates, shitty uploads, bad encodes, and lack of features or broken features with the tracker itself.

why the fuck there needs to be so many "internals" ? every noname tracker has a different encode of the content.. it triggers me so much, why cant they just bring over the content IF IT'S ALREADY MADE BY SOMEONE ELSE ? it would make it easier to cross-seed and would result in longer retention

Attached: here u go btch.png (1409x914, 92K)

/marked/

The only private tracker that doesn't have unseeded uploads is BBT.

I have a Python script for that, I'm pretty sure I got it from here months ago.

that works yes?

mtv had official recruitment there. i guess the pulled it recently

not sure why any tracker would recruit on that shithole

another day another 6mb upload on red

Thanks but it's not working for me. I'm trying to make it work in IDLE but it's just not happening.

I wonder if my old scripts from back in the day would work. I didn't want to put my python dunce cap back on but I might have to.

Hey guys. I'm new to the more elaborative technology skills, but I would like to host a website full of streaming services for classic movies, books, and various gems on the internet (ex: architecture portfolios of influential designers).

I realize these changes in internet laws won't cause an inaccessibility of this content, but it'll make it difficult. So id like to begin amassing a large amount of this stuff, keep it physically on a hard drive, then host it on a website for personal use of myself and a few friends.

Any ideas on how to start?

Download it all, set up an FTP server, and share it with your friends.

Attached: 1298076093579.png (272x322, 15K)

People have apparently been waiting for over a week with no response. I don't think there are even any mods in that channel who pay attention anymore.

Any recommendations on a large storage device? I'm not rich, so preferably no super computer ssd 4000tb lightning cable monster.

Thank you! Also had to look up what an ftp server was

It works for me with WSL, and I remember it working on my seedbox, so if you have access to Linux, it should work. Just navigate to the directory with all the torrents and call the script.

pornolab is better than emp

If you're worried you may run out of space while downloading the torrents, turning on disk space preallocation may solve your problem.

You could probably extract the size data from the .torrent or .fastresume files in qbittorrent's download folder.

Attached: file.png (1144x740, 100K)

ISP's are directly in charge of transporting layer three information (bytes transporting from machine to machine). ISPs would just reroute the ftp connection, making the server unable to function. I don't see how an ftp server is a distribution solution post net neutrality

I bought a 12 bay synology NAS and filled it up with 8TB WD Reds, which set me back about $5k. It really depends on how much storage space you need. You could build your own smaller NAS with decent RAID card and a handful of harddrives for much less than I spent.

>Linux
I'm a WinTard. I know I need to make the jump to Linux already but the time just isn't right.

>You could probably extract the size data from the .torrent or .fastresume files in qbittorrent's download folder.
That's where I am now. I'm trying to figure out how to extract the length from a torrent file, so I'm reading up on String operations in Python.

Open a command prompt (winkey+r, type cmd, press enter), type python, press enter, and post what version of python it is (it'll either be 2.7.6 or 3.5.something)

just lost my dedicated server virginity with kimsufi

how to I unfuck the shit tier upload speeds anyone?

Attached: dedi.png (1278x299, 42K)

I'm using 3.3.2.

I have a Banana Pi M2 Berry with a 2.5" HDD and just did some tests copying a 4 GiB file with scp:
>laptop -> bpi: 15 MB/s (120 mbps)
>bpi -> laptop: 11 MiB/s (88 mbps)
>bpi laptop: 13.8 MB/s (110 mbps) to the bpi, 8.7 MB/s (69.6 mbps) from the bpi

they're limited to 100 mbps nigger

I have a ratio rule on rtorrent set to "remove data" after a torrent reaches a certain ratio. A torrent recently hit that ratio, and the torrent was deleted from my client. However, the actual file is still on my seedbox. What did I screw up?

I was enabled 3days ago after not logging in since 2013.

Only 8 posts while I was out drinking. baka.

>they're limited to 100 mbps nigger

Yes but my upload never exceeds 20kb/s. That is the issue. I am aware the limit is 100mbps, the speedtest results are clearly visible in the screencap...

I was able to write a script that worked on my test cases (after much struggling remembering basic Python and learning about regular expressions). It's running right now on about 7k torrents, so it's taking a while. It probably could have been optimized but oh well, at least it didn't crash my computer. I'll report in with whether or not I have enough storage to meet my goal or if I'm fucked shortly.

>Seeding lots of torrents is bad
Thanks, MAM!

>1337
Most appropriate to how I feel that my script worked!
The total for my torrents is ~45TB, and I have about another 2500 more to add, so I'm expecting this to work out nicely with the storage I bought! I'll probably need to add more storage next year to take into account all the new anime that gets created, and I eventually want to expand my archive to visual novels and manga. Here's the code for anyone who has a similar problem. Just toss it in the folder containing all the torrents you want to add up and let 'er rip. Disclaimer: I wrote this in Python 3.3.2 so the syntax might not work on more updated Python installs.

import os
import glob
import re
os.chdir('REDACTED')
d = 0
l = re.compile('lengthi(\d+)e4')
for files in glob.glob('*.torrent'):
file = open(files,'rb')
t = file.read()
s = str(t)
m = l.findall(s)
while(len(m) != 0):
b = m.pop()
c = int(b)
d = d + c
file.close()
e = d/1000000000000
print(str(e) + ' TB')
print('script complete.')

>MAM
grown up, kid

Why don't you post us some acceptable content for grownups?

do i have a chance at bib if i get in through an invite but dont have overdrive? i mean LG as source for uploading viable?

okay so its been a month since I sent my info to recruiter on Bib for animebytes. Im a PU and meet all requirements.

no answer yet

What do, should I try getting recruited from other trackers or give it up and watch anime with ads and shit quality online? Anyone had similar experience?

Overdrive isn't necessary at all. For buffer ebooks from Overdrive are mostly pointless. They are just too small, and most of them are on BIB already. It's easier to upload a few bigger ebooks or audio books.

thanks, so i won't be looked down if i bring zero original content to the site, but content that are available elsewhere?

>give it up and watch anime with ads and shit quality online?
You can always download 720p or 1080p HorribleSubs (horriblesubs.info/) episodes. They are on AB too. You might have problems finding seeds for older content though. But that's public trackers.

>What do, should I try getting recruited from other trackers
It takes two weeks for power user on RED, the recruiter is pretty fast too.

I am REALLY out of the loop

was the data from What.cd salvaged?

The site's basically full man, 17,840/18,000 users enabled. I don't know what kind of games the private tracker community is playing but you might just be out of luck. Have you tried nyaa.si, nyaa.pantsu.cat, or bakabt? Additionally look for subgroups' websites. horriblesubs.info is good if you just don't want to pay for CR.

Attached: 1298264888061.jpg (811x754, 133K)

I doubt that other users would care where you got content from, unless the quality is bad. After all you're contributing to the site. Although you could bring new content from e.g. Audible, or any other audio book provider.

>17,840/18,000 users enabled.
Why would that arbitrary user limit even matter? They are probably going to raise it anyway. If they are full, they would pull the recruitment threads. The recruiter is probably just lazy. It's not like they could find 100+ volunteers with no life within minutes. /s

Some recruiters take forever to get around to doing anything. My record is about 6 weeks to get an invite, but I know other people have had it worse.

bump. pls help I think I'm stupid

>paying for 100mbit
Are there truly people out there who don't have at least a 100mbit home connection nowadays?

I'm on 50mbit, but it's a business connection so I don't have to deal with bandwidth caps. There's no fiber in my area or I'd have moved by now. It costs the same as a residential 100mbit connection but there's no way I'd get away with saturating the connection for weeks at a time.

Attached: 1298079188904.jpg (2549x3508, 388K)

100 MBit upload? I have 100 down, but only 10 up. I could pay more for 200 down / 20 up, but it's always a 10:1 ratio.

Huh. Interesting to know that I'm not the only one with that issue. I'll have to see if I can work that fix into my seedbox

Now gib invite or suck
