Curved screen is a meme.

>Windows
>GMail
>Sharepoint
>Outlook
It's as if you don't even try.

I think resolution and reading text would be an issue.
Also seeing your keyboard is probably hard

The fact that I don't want big goggle indentation marks and wear around my eyes for the ability to muiltitask that can be achieved by a cheap monitor from a thrift store.

DPI

i have the samsung vr headset for my s7 edge and sometimes i will browse the web like this (mostly to jack off to vr porn though.)
im curious how the desktop metaphor will evolve with the technology

seeing keyboard?

higher resolution HMD displays and i honestly don't see a problem other than seeing your peripherals.

Will my eyes become sore? Will the know how to focus on 2d text?

I think resolution and reading text would be an issue
>Oblivion on the 360
I can atleast look forward to the future.

>Also seeing your keyboard is probably hard.
Why wouldn't we do that stephen hawking shit?

>Why wouldn't we do that stephen hawking shit?
For text? Sure, but keyboards go beyond just text, though I guess gestures work, which requires a whole new interface which is probably at least 5 years away

Anything curved tends to be dishonest tbqh

This sort of implementation is actually looking more and more feasible. But I believe it will be integrated with your surrounding instead of complete substitution.

The Hololens is pretty good. Once it becomes more commercial and practice in size, legit will replace monitors, especially for public (School Lectures) or workplace usage.

Here are some videos:

(quality is also good, lag is only for feed replication)

VR on the other hand will be for Movies and Video Games.

>"Windows deposited 0.40 cents into your account."
A NIGGA GOTTA HUSTLE MEIN.

how much shit do you need to look at?

Enough to make it worth the ass aches.

why would i wear goggles that prevent me from seeing my surroundings?

Jow Forums is not opened

Wot, you can do this with phone VR?

yeah samsung pairs its headset with the occulus app, which has a homescreen like the pic and the occulus browser which is like browsing the web on a giant cinema screen.

I've been using text to speech on my handset device and it is surprisingly good, even with my regional English accent. Punctuation is still spotty, but minor editing is not overly difficult.

Wearing a headset is still clunky. If they made this work as contact lenses it'd be balling.

Trying to fit a 2D paradigm into VR. Once an interface arrives that was designed for use in VR, then I'll be on board. Trying to read text in VR sucks.

>Trying to read text in VR sucks.
Nah, it really doesn't. I can read text and paper just fine, granted the super sampling is bumped up to 1.5+. That of course requires more GPU power, but worth it.

Or you can just get a 4k VR headset

>Ever having to lift your head to look up
That is the real pain.

In VR you can just move the screens instead of moving your head

Resolution and field of view.

Sweat fogging goggles
Knocking things over by accident
Cant multitask real life
Shit controms

Why do you need to look at a keyboard?
Anyway, it shouldn't be too hard to make a headset to keyboard calibration, especially since you can get keyboard feedback when press the corners of the keyboard.

OP is still a fag

i don't know what's up

White background

I just got a Rift. While this can be done, and is kinda neat, as others have pointed out, the resolution is too crappy. Playing games in virtual desktop is kinda cool. Feels like playing on a massive, low res rear projection back in the day.

Like women?

Proprietary software.

I'd only like this as AR, not VR.

With VR I can't see my surroundings. With AR I'd be able to eat and move around my house while having my windows overlayed on top of my vision.

looks like gnome

Microshit and Goolag products

Imagine if normie shit like social media and netflix ends up adopting this as a mainstream platform. Think how effective even their current shit tier persuasion architectures like infinite scrolling and so on are at hijacking peoples brains and getting them addicted to fucking about for hours on end, and then think how much more opportunity they would have on a platform like this. they dont stand a chance the poor fucks

why do you need to be all autistic about it pretending that you don't know why I would need to see the keyboard
not everyone can touch type

>having to move your neck constantly
>adding additional weight on your head
>shit resolution
>screen door effect
>motion sickness at the slightest stutter
>if desktop is the inside of a rotatable cylinder instant motion sickness when rotating
>interaction with people in workspace environment will be shit
>burden of putting on and putting off headset constantly, not to mention wearing it for long periods of time
>ms bob

Multiple monitors are a symptom of ADHD and/or video game addiction.

i tried it and the tabs looks like trash, infact the whole display looks like shit and every game is blurry and low res mess, anyone claiming other wise has very low standard for good/seeable graphics.
t. 20/20 vision my whole life

Currently the resolution is simply not there for good text legibility.

maybe 4k per eye would do it, and increase refresh rate from 90hz to 120 or 144hz.

Resolution is not high enough, screen-door effect

Touch typing also doesnt work if you have no idea where your fucking keyboard is.
Logitech is working to fix the issue though.
