The only thing that matters is that Arch has the best repo. That's it. No other reasons necessary. Maybe if you really care about systemd, use void, but otherwise use Arch.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

No, Richard, it's 'Linux', not 'GNU/Linux'. The most important contributions that the FSF made to Linux were the creation of the GPL and the GCC compiler. Those are fine and inspired products. GCC is a monumental achievement and has earned you, RMS, and the Free Software Foundation countless kudos and much appreciation.

I'm surprised you got it installed with the installers because they're all fucking garbage or force some meme themes and snowflake packages. Architect Linux used to be the best but now it's outdated as shit and does not even work. Anarchy is also trash now, forces those dumb as fuck themes and also breaks if you try to install a certain DE with it (I can't remember which one but it fails to execute a pacman -S command and just tells you to fuck off) The rest of them are trash not worthy of mention, it's literally easier to just follow Arch's guide than to use those god forsaken scripts. I'm trying to do full disk encryption (with swap and /tmp using /dev/urandom as a keyfile) My main problem though is that it "soft hangs" for 30 seconds at a time (even when I'm only running tmux at the command line--so it's not something big taking up resources) So I'm thinking it's something (like microcode) that I need to install (even though I have AMD and it says I don't need microcode) or maybe an irq problem

Installed Debian in that hope. Tried to mount networkshare on boot. Didn't wait for network to be initiated causing mount to fail. -> uninstall debian. Identical fstab has worked for me in Arch and ubuntu but not in debian. Tried even two different debian releases. "Just werks" bullshit
