Windows 10 is a Botnet.

> Your mother is a whore

Except it can't run on PowerPC.

OP can't do anything right

You Have To Be 18 To Post Here.

Oh look, it's another I-fucked-my-own-computer-but-it's-totally-just-windows10-bloat/botnet thread.

Never used W10 i see

Windows 10 is constantly maxing out disk IO for """Malware scans""" and telemetry data.

Windows works fine when you don't have a shitty computer

Why would you fuck up your own computer? For me, and 99.8% of other people, it runs perfectly smooth.

Unused I/O is wasted I/O

Windows has no RAM caching.
If you've read it once you shouldn't need to read it off disk 50x more times when requested.

The only limiting factor low RPM should reap is write I/O speeds.

If the disk has to be reread everytime something is requested the head and platter have to reposition to retrieve it. Slow disk = slow IO read or write. Though RAM caching would be very nice.

I was commenting on him saying uses all of your disk usage more than anything about Windows.

Youve never monitored disk usage then. W10 ran perfectly smooth for me too until I left task manager open to the side one day and noticed it was constantly chewing on my disk IO.

Well I mean, hes not wrong.

You're assuming you're observed behaviour is universal. It's not.

You should investigate the root causes instead of settling on the telemetry/botnet meme.

windows is for the future
1GB RAM 5400RPM HDD systems pls head to gentoo instead

But it doesn't.

uh

Superfetch, and usually only happens on a fresh install. At least that's how it works on Vista/7, I dunno if they fucked up something on 10.

Are you retarded?

Here's a wc, begone Indian.
It's on the TOS

My statement stands.

Read a file from disk.
Now read it again.

You had disk activity both times.

Windows has no RAM caching.

That's not how ram works pajeet.

And windows does has cache

Attached: 1497474702219.png (1080x1920, 838K)

It is.

Unless something is modified in the filesystem it should store the requested blocks in empty RAM.

This is what gives linux its impression of speed on hard disks. Once you read something once you don't have anymore disk activity from that object until reboot or a manual cache flush for some odd reason.

Windows cites that block of memory usage as "cache" but there's no documentation I've seen on specifically what it's caching. It sure isn't disk access.

Read a file from disk.
Watch your activity.
Read it again.
Same activity.

There is no disk caching occurring.
The most I can see is a proprietary kernel/ core OS cache being used for main components and disk writeback but most applications and userspace show no hints of caching.

The reason why you see so many people saying SSDs are a meme is because they run linux and get 4-30GB/s of throughput after reading the file once so disks become vastly more usable.

>Read a file from disk.Watch your activity.Read it again.Same activity.

That doesn't prove dick, dude.

Hahahahaha user you're such a dumb

You can disable windows defender and telemetry through PS or GPO.
If you're too dumb to perform simple tasks like these you can always buy a SSD.

Never heard of a 5600RPM HDD, are you sure you're not just underage and had to google "slow hard drive"?

>install W10 on dedicated gamebox
>install the entire disk full with steamgames
>W10 tells me it needs 8GB to update, with no option to decline/postpone/.. Just cross or OK

mfw it just fucking takes it the moment it sees even a byte more available when it sees

It did not give a damn that I turned off and disabled everything.

Will use LTSB from now on, just had the thumbdrive still and was lazy
