Still a weird build. What case?Used to have an A6-5400. You need Ryzen in your life user.
Parker Garcia
>You need Ryzen in your life user.
I know that. It is just purpose-oriented build.
Cameron Brown
My new Super Micro awrvwr board and ECC ram have been delayed due to fucking weather. UPS is a bunch of punk bitches. My FedEx Bois wouldn't let a little water deter my shipment.
Anyhow. Here's my server. I'll update the pic when my shit gets here. Probably going to do 8x8TB drives soon.
Gabriel Price
Whoa. Had a bit of a stroke there I guess. Super Micro server** motherboard
Charles Miller
nice gpu bud
that ghetto intake, may be put some mesh filter, you could screw it to a fan
Henry Gray
Nice to see non- Noctua setups once in a while. Poo fans are good, but not the end all be all.
Jayden Miller
Poo is good. Poo is life.
This server has a solid side panel.
Jackson Peterson
Nothing changes huh crab man.
Neat build.
Porn?
Joshua Price
>Porn?
A lot of movies, anime, television series, and pictures from my DSLR.
The porn is kept in a 250GB external encrypted container. Can't have my folks stumbling upon my stash of mom-dom and face sitting if I die without warning.
Ian Young
You dont horde video games tho?
Liam Cook
>usb to ethernet
ugh?
Luke Johnson
>Horde video games
Nope! I mean I have some ROMs that I enjoy (old resident evil games etc) but all my games are purchased. Just like my movies. I own a very large physical collection of Blu-ray and DVDs/CDs. I rip them and encode them. Then upload to the server.
Connor Lopez
I think these things were normal in 2008
Corsair Crystal 570X
Very expensive, you have to change the fans for proper RGB, but the build quality and glass is amazing
It does, after the 19th of April
I'm glad to have my i7 sold the prices are dumping now
Already have 4266 Gskill RGB
Jace Thomas
First time posting. Disregard the mismatching colored RAMs, I'm in the process of switching color schemes. Used to have red/black, now more into black/white.
Gonna get a bigger case soon and put the poo fan back on the cooler where it belongs. DVD drive is also going away, it's not even connected anymore because it broke, but I can't find the cover for that hole in the case anymore, so I let it stay there.
Henry Morgan
why does your gpu have zipties?
Brody Davis
Corsair SP coming fans in the mail. I wish this led wasn't so bright.
Chase Morales
I saw that one coming. The original cooler fans were falling apart and making a lot of noise, so I took apart the plastic parts and kept the actual metal cooler. Bought two Corsair PWM fans and attached them to the cooler with said zipties, connected fans to the motherboard (I could've used an adapter to connect them to the GPU and have fan control that way, but I'd have to wait for it to ship and it could've not worked at all or killed my GPU because these fans draw more power, so I decided not to risk it).
Boom, homemade GPU cooler. Sort of. It performs surprisingly well, better than the original, and the fans are as loud as my case fans, so basically no noise increase at all. Would recommend.
Sebastian Fisher
Morpheus II. Better looking and a hair better than it's cousin, the Artic Accelaro.

Why SP? ML RGB are superior, you can dim them and adjust the color in any favor.
Luke Sullivan
Software control is aids, the white led strip washes out others, see my current exhaust fan. Flat colored blades will look better in my use case. I could do the ML fans without LEDs but these look better and are cheaper.
SP because 2x on my radiator, 1 over my VRM, and I might as well just get a matching for exhaust, since they sell 2-packs.
You gotta admit, it looks exactly like the Morpheus
Caleb Phillips
The MLs are expensive for a reason, they are really silent and can run at low RPMs.
Ryan Hill
Yea, it does look similar from that angle.
Here's a different shot before I put it into my PC.
Tyler Taylor
Swapped out my motherboard and PSU today. Asrock board died in 3 weeks.

You should think about using another case in the future.
I used to have Fractal Design cases and they never got dusty inside because of their superior dust filters.
But for my current build I tried a shitty Coolercancer case. Biggest mistake ever.
Checkout my cable mess and all that lovely dust.
Aiden Wood
Is it worth having all those fans in there, even though Noctua is generally quiet it must still get loud.
Zachary Parker
These Noctua fans primary purpose is to keep the integrated fans of the ASUS Strix card under control. That thing is getting extremely loud when overclocked. Since I want to stay away from any water coolers this extra airflow was my only solution.
It took me a lot of work to tweak them properly.
I attached most of them to the fan headers on the GPU. Because I only need that much airflow if that overclocked 1080 Ti is busy.
The right of the top fans is disabled because I found that its hindering the airflow around the CPU.
I also used low noise adapters on all intake fans because either these fans or the case is causing a really loud humming noise if they spin too fast.
Brody Evans
so many overpriced corsair meme coolers

Brayden Parker
Does that itty bitty fan over your ram actually do anything? I can't imagine any ddr4 making significant heat unless you're running like 1.65v and going for a benchmark.
William Parker
regarding loud humming noise from fans. It's an interesting topic for sure.
While a fan can be quiet outside of the case, it can also be loud when running at the same speed inside a case. This is because of the honeycomb fan grills for exhaust introduces a shitton of resistance. Exactly the same thing with the front fans (I have noticed that the horizontal thin bars that run across the front panel also adds a fuckhuge amount of resistance.
You can try to reproduce this on your CPU cooler aswell. Just grab a straight zip-tie or something and hold it close across the fan, and the fan noise will become much louder while still at the same RPM.
NZXT cases are notorious for this (S340 especially). Even 300RPM fans sound like 3000RPM Delta fans because of the obstruction/resistance introduced by fan grills and those horizontal bars (whose purpose probably is to add structurcal integrity or some shit)
Brandon Gutierrez
>I attached most of them to the fan headers on the GPU. Because I only need that much airflow if that overclocked 1080 Ti is busy.
smart
Mason Davis
It's mounted on top of my DIMM.2 card which is a proprietary solution from ASUS to mount two additional M.2 drives.
Because these drives are positioned upright inbetween the CPU fan and the case front fan I found that it isn't necessary to keep them cool.
But since this tiny fan spins as slow as it can it doesn't make any noticeable noise. So I just left it in there.
Joseph Baker
Haven't experienced such kind of noises with my Fractal Design cases. Seems they've put some thought into avoiding those while still having superior dust filtration.
Wonder if Coolercancers new Mesh 500P has the same issues like the Mastercase 5 on the picture.
Caleb Russell
since when did they sell meshify C without the dark TG?

Why not mount the gpu rad on the front and the cpu rad on the top?
Grayson Johnson
Because of the consumption
Tyler Ramirez
Cleaning out the dust and taking my custom loop out, i have a 140 single rad imma replace the 360 with since it was pretty overkill for just cooling a stock 6700k

Its not messy normally, only when I work something. Currently I'm improving the room.
I will do these even for the antenna cables, then order every cable I need in the exact lenght. So I can reach every point in my flat with network, HDMI, USB or audio cables. It fits power cables as well.
And I get a fresh Crosshair VII, Ryzen 2700X and 4266 RGB RAM this week. Sleeved cables somewhen to finish my build ugrades.

It's a total mishmash of different hardware, so it's not even real retro

I'm thinking about recasing this FX8350 rig in an air 540, the second chamber would be cool to hide my CX750 spaghetti.
Nicholas Mitchell
nobody seems to pick thye right case for the job they want, they just look at the outside and be like "yeh looks good"
Sebastian Collins
I love my 740, in my case my PSU fan was actually the loudest fucking thing in my case, so putting it into its own closed off section made it literally inaudible, i love it.
Nicholas Thomas
>liquid cooling + five extra case fans for a mere 6700+1070 without oc
why
also isn't your rear fan sucking air through the radiator into the case?
Nicholas Diaz
>Everyone and their dog has a CLC for their CPU that draws ~100w
>CLCs for 300w GPUs are rare
Why is this backwards?
Elijah Howard
because it's much easier to install a CLC on a CPU and Jow Forums is dumb
Ian Young
It's probably because people don't OC GPUs as far as they do CPUs, those Xwhateverthefuck chipset intel CPUs can use a shit ton when OC'd.
Liam Morales
you can't really oc modern intel chips even with a CLC due to toothpaste under the heat spreader
Benjamin Hill
CLC are such fucking garbage and i can't understand why every goddamn i5 kiddo buys these garbage products
Julian Wright
I'm putting this together as a gaming computer for my friend, or rather his kid. He just wants to play Fortnite and this should do it just fine
FX 6300, 8 gigs of memory, GTX 560ti
In terms of upgrade paths, what's the fastest GPU that would reasonably pair with this cpu? I don't really know much about AMD stuff, I just know that this cpu/mobo combo is now pretty much maxed out.
Jayden Richardson
Technically you can put a 1080 in there, crank the resolution to 4K and AA to maximum and it will be GPU-limited even with this relatively slow CPU. But for reasonable settings I think something like 1050ti is the maximum.
Levi Campbell
I see floppy drive...
Gabriel Morris
Hope that boi enjoys it, FX still rocks with midrange cards.
Landon Gomez
Can't take it out, it would leave a hole in the front
I hope so too. Eight years old yesterday, didn't quite make the birthday party with this but he should be getting it this weekend after I'm done testing and setting it up
Samuel Kelly
What does OC have to do with anything? Heat is heat and GPUs produce more, if all the high end ones came with CLCs you would be able to get that out of your case quicker and quieter.
Parker Watson
Yes, the front two and the rear are intakes and the top three are exhaust, i use a lot of fans and run them all at the lowest speeds, so i get good temps and no noise
I'm using the all in one because the only air cooler for 1151 is a low pro coolermaster that makes it run at 40c idle, and i have the water cooler from an old itx build
I'd be using a different case but i'm going to upgrade the hardware somewhat soon to the z470 chipset and a 1080ti with a full rigid loop
Ethan King
It's been a while since I've seen one of these threads
