I was able to finally ditch winblow$ thanks to Solus. Other beginner-friendly distros are fine too, but I kinda got used to this one really quickly.

There is no comeback to this. Anyone who cums buckets over Solus has no retort. Ubuntu Budgie is clearly a better solution.

Solus is pretty good.
Unfortunately, no Plasma release yet.

Budgie is good, but not on par. We'll see when 11 is released.

I have love/hate relationship with Suse, package management seems weird after Fedora and install is a bit bloated.

But everything else is great.

I used to do that when I was a noob underage until I got experience and I found all distros are the same shit , I even created an LFS.

Solus is comfy, I use it for college stuff, program in C and just browsing, media shit and sometimes emulate games and it works great.
Also their steam integration is nice though I don't have enough linux games to try.

I hope they polish it enough to get some contract or whatever with an OEM.

It will be the best distro once KDE is finally finished for it.
I would also really like Ikey (Kevin) to fix the Nvidia problem so I don't have to nomodeset in grub or CTRL+ALT+F2

What do you mean high-maintenance? I've been on Solus for more than a year and I just run the updates once a week and go back to whatever I was doing.

Yeah, that's high-maintenance. I don't want to have to update every week, since some of those updates will be disruptive (Hey, new kernel/C library/etc version! You get to reboot now) or just contain shit I don't want that I'll have to spend time changing after the update (Best example: Firefox) And this trouble for what? So the devs can have an easier time of things and not bother with maintaining things or tracking security issues, but instead just push every new upstream version when it arrives.
