You a participant or just a volunteer?

Just a viewer.
The contest is on from 2 hours already, 4 more hours to go.

Did you used to be involved with ICPC in any way?

Nope, not yet.

Bumping this, which teams are y'all supporting? I'm surprised Seoul National is doing well thus far, after Russia has won the previous two world finals.

Anybody know what the "WA," "RTE" stands for?

Attached: 1507385996066.png (266x144, 69K)

WA - Wrong Answer
RTE - Runtime Error

Not sure what TLE stands for though.

1. AC - accepted
2. WA - wrong answer
3. TLE - time limit exceeded
4. CE - compilation error
5. RE - runtime error

PEKING U!!!!!

Russia's on top again. Crazy smart people they have over there.

Indeed, although it's surprising to see ITMO much lower than usual, and instead of them the Moscow teams on top.

any way to see a set of the problems?

>competitive programming
Is this the esports of programming?

I bet they're all Ukrainians
these something on those fuckers' brains

icpc.baylor.edu/worldfinals/problems

Could be, although it is way more of a brain sport obviously.
And unlike esports, the skills needed are very useful in real life if you are a computer scientist, so dedicating yourself to competitive programming is never a waste of time if you plan to work as a non code-monkey programmer.

thank you, now time to see if I am able to even begin to approach these

B is the easiest fyi. Just a very simple graph problem

They offer a rough solution in the video stream, right now they're discussion the overall solution to problem E

Any of you have a Codeforces account?

Result at 0800 UTC

Scoreboard: myicpc.icpcnews.com/World-Finals-2018/scoreboard

Final results will be shown at 0800 UTC, stay tuned for the grand finale.

One french school (the best in France), they are only 79/140.
So now i know that they we are dogshit at CS, better to learn from myself then.

First off, those aren't the final results. The final results will be reported in about 20 minutes (0800 UTC).

Also, if it makes you feel better, the French school is currently ranked higher than UPenn, UWaterloo and Cornell.

CLOSING CEREMONY, GET IN HERE LADS

Shit contest because it's only for students, i want to see a real contest with experienced programmers and computer scientist, not some teenager monkeys.

Not really, once you're older you don't function as well. That's why experienced programmers fail basic coding interviews and they forget their fundamental algorithms and data structures.

Why the fuck am i pajeet ;_;.

92nd place, IIT mardas.

IIT Hyderabad's doing quite well at 25/100, ranked higher than Harvard...

Unfreeze when?
Acquaintances participating, interested in their results

A real team of computer scientists AFTER finishing the best schools may destroy them, if not that means the exercises are for code monkeys. That's why it's only opened for students, they don't want to have to deal with some obscure genius reckting them from their basement were they are literally programming and doing maths 12h/day.

icpclive.org

Oh damn user, didn't notice that.
Go Pajeets whohoo.

Twitch stream is up

YouTube livestream is up

>coding competitively

I use to do this shit. Way too boring. I got far into regional. After that, it was just me versus a team of autistic programmers cause I was the only good programmer at my school.

Those computer scientists are the ones creating problems for events like these. Besides, they're too busy solving real-world problems and contributing to academia.

Who won?

They will be updating the final scoreboard, they delay it for the suspense. Right now they're awarding the teams who won which problems first and for various metrics.

Final results are coming in!

No medal for first time since 15 years, shame :/
I honestly thought, that this team with Radewoosh and Errichto would be even better than the team from a year ago with Swistakk etc. More experienced/rated people and such. They must be extremely sad and disappointed.

MIT gets bronze, but seems like they only had a team of two

Is this supposed to be a manlet joke or sth?

Chinks representing MIT. No surprises there.
