flatpak is fucking AWFUL lmao RT

reasons?
>linux distributions which follows a point release model usually provides fairly outdated software
>in contrast, distributions which follows a rolling release model are typically unstable, since they have less time for testing and integration
although these formats may be bad,but its still better than nothing

Because it dumps all the fucking programs in one directory like chocolatey, which is also shit - we already have GUIs for package managers that have good release processes (nightly/git, devel, testing, unstable, stable)

Is using a package manager so fucking hard? Do we really need this GNOME3 esque bullshit? I'ts like a D-grade chinese version of the Play Store

beats the shit out of ushintu snaps

>Is using a package manager so fucking hard?
the problem is not the package manager, but the release model
see

good for muh gaymes at least.

Flatpak vn's are okay

appimg is the superior format

But Aku no Hana is GREAT!

AppImage is perfect

No automatic updater
No thanks

bloat.
it needs to run independently and without root

I'd never heard of this icon pack until now. Thanks Jow Forums!

REALLY???
If you really want fucking windows-tier background updating you need to kill yourself.

>security and convenience is bloat

I want Chrome OS tier updates.

nakamura a shit

Yes, it is.
uses packed libraries, ie. the same problems as Winblows.

>vscode flatpak
>the integrated terminal is sandboxed, so basically useless
T-thanks security...

so use a package manager

Is there an AppImage manager?

links pls

no because why would anyone maintain that when every os already maintains their own repos

So I'll be able to install updates without checking a hundred different websites for new AppImages.

then why not use your OS's package manager to install software?
