>he doesn't like freedom

im triple booting xps13
pretty sure you can do the same on x220 too

I love freedom. I have guns to shoot any linux commie that's coming for my source code

>my source code
>implying source code of a closed source software belongs to you
no wonder us has school shooter issues

you can already do this on a PC

Attached: 28rtoa.jpg (480x320, 35K)

if I write it it belongs to me

I can do this on my X220

can someone tell me what benefit there is to OSX over GNU/Linux + a Windows VM?

>no dock
>no ports
>no changeable battery
>no replacement parts
>no repair instructions
Yeah no I'll pass and stay with my x220

you wrote mac os?
wow man gj

lol, even if he did it would belong to his corporate slavemasters

FYI - GNU/Linux does not have 100% hardware support on any Mac from the last 3 years.

You don't have to use Adobe tools over a VM

What's wrong with a VM? You're not a poorfag are you?

you can triple boot anything - not special

ThinkPads can run all three. You just have to install an extra bootloader.

...

>that horrible keyboard layout
>that horrific zero travel keyboard on the 2016+ models
>not being able to easily swap the hard drive out
>no libreboot
The main selling point of old thinkpads is the great keyboard. Back when they used to have an IBM logo on them, the keys had a nice tactile feel. they didn't feel squishy. I could type almost as quickly as I could on a real keyboard.
Another selling point for me was the desktop-like insert+home+end block and decent arrow key layout. I know you're not supposed to use those in VIM, but I prefer to use them, and it's a lot easier when I don't have to unlearn my muscle memory when I move to a laptop.

You can do the same shit on UEFI thinkpad.

What's the point of running both mac and linux? I understand the addition of windows (for gaymen), but using both mac and linux is reduntant. I'm genuinely curious on this.
>mac aesthetics
Can do the same in linux
>adobe suite
Exists on windows
>final cut pro
Kys

As much as I love mac, I miss the days when I could change my harddrives, ram and battery on my macbook pro.

uh...
I do this on my x220?

Ableton Live

Fuck off dude

Ableton is a piece of shit, it's not good for both quick amateur work neither professional work.
Use protools

Why gimp yourself with throttlebook chinkshit?

Because it has ports, you can actually replace parts which might break during use, it has WAY better build quality and I can hackintosh one if I really hate myself that much.
Also:
>multiple booting rather than using vms

Shoot yourself.

>you will need to actually replace parts which always break during use
Fixed.

I wish there were machines like the classic thinkpads but with modern high end specs, anyone know a laptop like that?

Also I don't understand how anyone can bear dual booting let alone triple booting. Rebooting between systems is a massive pain

KEK. THIS! I love Loonix but I hate those fucking commies.

Why would I fuck myself with the Macs abyssmal hardware?

You don't make music.

And pro tools isn't on Linux either so you'd still need Mac + Linux.

Now if you said reaper you might approach being correct.

>And pro tools isn't on Linux either so you'd still need Mac + Linux
I don't think you understood my first inquiry, I asked what's the point of having all three when windows + linux already covers majority of the needs already? Protools isn't on linux but it is on windows.
>You don't make music.
No, not professionally.

Because i can repair my (generic branded regular laptop).
You on other hand, as soon you get too much dust in, your thing is going to the trash.
Also your keyboard sucks.

>using vms on an underpowered laptop

What if he is Bill Gates?

someone give me a reason to dual boot instead instead of using a VM

I really like just being able to slide over to a different operating system extremely fast, but I have worries that I might be losing performance

You gave a reason yourself, performance. Even running it in kvm/qemu you still need to provide the resources for the host.

Osx handles audio latency many times better than windows; however, the gap is closing.

This is what peak performance looks like.
