Downloading, always. Streaming is low quality, ads ridden garbage.

Download because politics.
Further and further life is getting into a "life as a service" and I hate it.
Sure, services are getting better and better, and more affordable too, but it's a service. You don't own that shit, you cancel and you loose everything.
Because of the services popularity, piracy is decreasing, and then the service will have better and better DRM. Day by day, because of lower piracy demand, and harder to pirate something, pricacy will be a very small niche.

>BUT PRACY IS STEALING, IT'S BAD AND STUFF.
Sure. I like to contribute to things I like as well. But there is something wrong with our current direction, exclusivity, and accessability. Soon you won't be able to talk about a TV with your friend because show A is service B only, and show C is D service only. Few people will have afford more than one service and piracy will keep on dimishing.
Sure, this is just entertainement media, but eventually it will expand to much more. It already is.

I Hoard because don't want our treasures to be locked down in the future. I don't want people to be divided by what service they subscribe.

downloading, streams usually are low quality because "lol bandwidth is expensive".

If you can, downloading and physical media
A DVD looks better than an average 1080p online stream

We have fucking 12 TB hard drives now. There's no excuse to not download.

When you stream, the video file is literally downloaded in your browser cache.
If you disable browser cache, it downloaded into memory.

I don't think piracy will become a niche any time soon. On the contrary, thanks to vod service piracy has never been so good.

Stream my porn, download my shows.

this. Why would anyone watch a blocky garbage when you can download a Blu-ray rip.

Streaming. I want to watch it now, not in an hour.

>what is a minimum amount of planning

It depends. Is it something i really like and want to keep like initialD or the ALF movie. Or is it something I dont give a fuck about like watching walking dead with my girlfriend.

Also no ads when you use things like Kody

on a whim, hand to mouth
like a typical nigger

Not necessarily. Streaming is usually worse quality due to bandwidth constrants. If you want flac/bd rip then you have no choice (not including local streaming from server to htpc).

The minimum amount of planning to waste your free time? Nothing. Streaming is fine. And should I really have to download something, I usually download the yify or a similar version.

If your client doesn't support downloading pieces in consecutive order, I recommend upgrading to qbittorrent.

Both, my server downloads the shit I want automatically and I use Plex to stream it on my phone, TV or pc.
