systemd

openrc

systemd

runit
no good distro has runit as default though

Then it isn't good my dude

ok I'm making my distro use runit

Void does

>good distro

void isn't a good distro because it's run by antifa SJWs

there aien't any other good one, that's the point of systemd

prove it

Still using sysv-init. Works perfectly fine for me.

sysvinit is the only init system.
Other is just overcomplicated bloat, that gains only extra 4-5 seconds of economy on dual-core CPUs. Idk, may be on 6 cores it makes a difference, but here no.

Runit is pretty good.
Void uses it by default.

It used to be utter trash until reworked and heavily patched. Can you really rely on software that was poo since the beginning?

We'll, I can say that is blazing fast and I have never had any problems in the two years I've used it.

On the contrary, I've got problems with systemd almost instantly.

Alright you've got my interest. Show me

sinit, init(8)

systemd

source? i know the devs are ponyfuckers anyway

runit does supervision without having a horrendously unnecessary attack surface

Any init systems in rust?

>good distro
>binary nonfree wifi driver they provide doesnt work

OpenRC. Comes with individual service configs similar to unit files, has its own service supervisor, but can also use third-party ones like s6, supports runlevel stacking (e.g. runlevel default boots to a getty login with networking and sshd up, runlevel desktop boots everything in default and sddm), supports parallel startup without le ebin socket activation, and a hell lot of other fancy things.

>Any deamon that you would like to have monitored by supervise-daemon must not fork. Instead, it must stay in the foreground. If the daemon itself forks, the supervisor will be unable to monitor it.
fantastic

systemd suffers from the exact same problem. OpenRC offers a setting configurable by both the distributor of the init script or the end user, which adds parameters to the daemon executable that causes it to not fork in case a supervisor is requested.

No it doesn't, that's the entire fucking point of cgroups.

read the man page retard. it's called a service file with Type=forking
herp derp brainlets itt

nice meme
ewontfix.com/15/

Good job demonstrating the mental retardation of anti-systemd shills.

That link doesn't refute the claim that systemd is able to keep track of forked processes, it only claims that the way systemd tracks complete service initialization is bad.

from my personal experience init(8) from *BSDs. SysV would be a distant second.

Antix is okay, it uses the old sysv init before systemd contaminated Linux

Antix is everything you'll ever need, systemd free debian

False. It's run by based spaniard brony

>sysdfree.wordpress.com/2018/02/15/176/
>Antix-17 iso code named Heather Heyer after the anti-fascist activist who was run over by a white supremacist in Charlottsville Virginia this past year.
hahahahahaahaha

Shepherd, obviously.

ponyfag wasn't good enough for you poltards, they have to be antifa for you to finally care?
oh yeah that is right, /mlpol/ was a thing and you fuckers loved it, fucking horsefuckers

LOL

runit is the best on balance, in my opinion

Until someone proves the Void antifa sjw thing it's fake new.
>brony memes
I honestly don't care.

Oh for fuck sake, first void bronies now this. It's almost like they don't want any good systemd free distros

>conflating liking children's cartoons with supporting domestic terrorism
Who gives a shit if they like ponies? It's such a minor thing to complain about. Void is a great distro.

I mean, what do you expect from a person that calls themself anticapitalista? Oh well, at least they told me not to touch this distro again.

Article uses openRC as a process manager.

SysV supplemented with BSD scripts

hahaha

As a winfag, what exactly is the role that systemd or its equivalent fulfills?
Am I correct in seeing it as the linuxland equivalent of svchost.exe?

It's almost like only weirdos hate systemd.

Something like that. It's a systemd daemon that starts up right after the kernel and manages other daemons.

So, since in linux the drivers are in the kernel, this is just to load attendant root level shit before user login?

been usin antiX for a few months now. installed from core. It's been fantastic

OpenRC

do you came to the conclusion yourself or just repeating what you hear about it?
