Not OP but mpv would always go out of sync for me (video would eventually lag behind audio), never had the patience to see whether my i5 3570k/1070GTX was too weak to handle muh chinese cartoons on mpv or if there's some magical setting i need.

Could have been a number of different things like the file itself or the particular build.
Try updating to 0.28 and use d3d11 or even try vulkan

Until MPV can do frame interpolation as good as DmitriRender, I'm not touching it. MPC+MadVR+Dmitri is the best combo currently.

There aren't any major problem, so why bother wasting time on some useless bloaty features.
Just update LAV Filters manually and it's perfect.
But if you want features, you can always use MPC-BE.
