Why aren't you writing this from your own custom os?

Why aren't you making better threads

What's wrong with this one?

Because I'm programming in my boss' language. Not even memeing

Is it gud?

Because I don't have my own hardware designs

Why would you need that?

Jon Blow is such a weird dude. I want to like the guy, but he rubs me off the wrong way most of the time. But good on him, he's doing what he loves and is getting paid for it.

what is it called?

babel

To make my own instructions and my own assembly.

This.

I agree with most of his views. But I know I'd hate him if I met him.

> What is a compiler

Why aren't you posting on your own image board?

is this a silicon valley reference again? i haven't watched today's episode

It still compiles into machine code.

I've been looking into making my own language.
How do I do it?

craftinginterpreters.com/

Thanks.

Well both are retarded things to say, so they have that in common at least

There you have it

I have ideas of what I would like a language to do. I don't like gargabe collectors, nor I think the borrowing model of Rust is neutral enough, LISP syntax is not flexible, Haskell is too high level, to the point to have to understand opinionated compiler behavior to fine tune your application.

Probably in 20 years, when I'm finally tired of all the bullshit on this industry, I'll consider making my language.

Because I actually make money when I write code.
What you offer does not.

You make more money with your own language, because you are more productive in it.

Good luck convincing your employer to use your language that as soon as you get bored with it or leave the company, it'll become unmaintained and leave them stranded, forced to rewrite everything from scratch.
>inb4 just be self-employed
Good luck convincing your clients to use your language that as soon as you get bored with it or terminate the contract, it'll become unmaintained and leave them stranded, forced to rewrite everything from scratch.

Just make documentation of your language.
