1920x1080 = stone age resolution

>tfw your tablet you bought nearly 6 years ago has a higher resolution (2048x1536) than your monitor you bought a few months ago

2560x1440 is easily the best resolution out now. I don't know how much longer I can suffer on 1080p. 3840x2160 doesn't have high refresh rate yet so that's not an option. Looks like I'm going to spend a few hundred dollars on a 144Hz WQHD monitor.

I have a standard def monitor at work and a "retina" MacBook Pro at home and in all honesty 99% of the time I don't notice the difference. The sharpness is a nice novelty I guess

name 1 reason for higher refresh rate other than games

Games are barely starting to run in 1080p at 120, new resolutions are gonna bring us back to much 60fps

There's no going back after trying 144/165Hz. Even your cursor looks like shit on 60Hz.

That's strange. I guess the experience is different from person to person.

games

Higher refresh rates are not just for games. Just scrolling down a webpage, moving your cursor across the screen and moving windows around feels better on high refresh rate monitors.

games feel better too

So, you mean it's a rock solid and time tested staple resolution everyone should have? I agree!
