But to be honest for whatever reason it takes a lot more disk usage on boot compared to a common Linux DE. It must be setting up all the botnet shit.

Might be windows updates taking all of the disk usage for a while, if you have not run it for a while it'll take a while depending on the size of the updates and all, either that or windows defender running scans if you have not used the system for a long time. I upgraded an old laptop to windows 10 with a 5400rpm drive and it sits with extremely high disk usage for a while if i haven't used it in ages and it has to run through updates, but after that it drops and even during the high disk usage it is still usable for browsing etc.
