This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
I'm getting a lot of criticism for calling this watch "high end" but, even after reading all of the comments, I stand by what I said. There will always be a bigger, more expensive brand of watch with slightly better movement or with a little more charm but I enjoy THIS watch. TAG Heuer is a well established, respected brand for people like myself who cannot afford the "real" high end brands. After severing $6000 AUD (a lot for a student like me) this piece brings me great satisfaction, I'm truly disappointed by people telling me that it's from a lower bracket of watches, not worth it or that I'm wrong for considering it high end. As many have pointed out (and I really appreciate the support), "high end" is subjective and really depends on the spectrum of watches he/ she can afford. This watch, believe it or not, is high end in terms of what I will come to own in my lifetime. I didn't post for any other reason than to share my watch with a group of people who could appreciate it. Don't prove me wrong.
I like the look and finishing on the sub but I rotate several watches and think winders lame andI don't like setting dead watches

I know everyone here gives you shit for that watch but overall it looks fine to me outside of watch autism for daily wear it looks far better than most watches, kind of expensive for what it is tho imo
That's part of the entertainment value. I actually really do think it's quite a nice watch for the $1255 I paid on jomashop for it. F U C K paying retail of $1750 for it though.
>proprietary lugs When will you get into slavshit, John?

Is it an ETA?

The problem with tag is the price, there are many tag watches that for the same price could get a higher range, brands with less marketing but with a lot of quality.
The case this is particular, I paid 130 dollars for a clock that does not go below 650.
I still believe that it was a smart purchase. And if not, we'll see it in 10 years.
I liked the red bezel but I feel like I should get the black one so I'm not so limited in what I can wear it with

You just have to put the spring bar on while the strap is in place and jam it in. Maybe go for a one piece nylon? it only has one piece of fabric that slips on the watch as opposed to two.
Only strap that I know of that can just slip through it normally is the Eulit kristall perlon, it's the thinnest strap I know. Cheap natos will fit but need to be set in place instead like said.
Yea I was about to ask if it was a mixmatch. Looked kinda like one. Regardless looks like it turned out pretty nice. Would like a H557 someday myself possibly.
>my watch fogged up after swimming with it in salt water for two hours >meh, I'll take it to the watchmaker next month You don't know how many times I've seen this.
