If you're new I'd suggest download some freeleech stuff to build buffer and gold gen. Look at your low seed freeleech picks as well, if they give decent gold (like anything above 1+ really) snatch them too, ignore the stuff with a tiny gold pool. Low-seed freeleech is good though since by their nature very few people are sharing that gold pool so you'll raise your gold gen really fast if you get in the habit of grabbing them.

Also try to seed stuff as long as possible since when the gold buff comes back it'll probably have a 90% seed/snatched requirement. They initially applied the requirement for a little while but then turned it back off and put it out of stock presumably so people can use their stockpiled buffs without getting fucked over, but I think they'll put it back on soon. Once they do try to keep 2x gold on all the time and then just let your gold pile up until you see .8x item cost global buff go up, then go buy a bunch of upload potions at the highest denomination you can and repeat. This is also a good time to stock up on 2x gold buffs so don't waste too much buffer on them early on, just enough to keep you stocked for a couple weeks or so.

if you understand how a vpn works then it should be obvious that they all slow down speeds. however, some of the expensive ones only slow it down by a minuscule amount. for example, mine reduces my download speed from ~14mb/s to 13.5mb/s, so i really couldnt care less.

I mean to put it into perspective, some quick googling brought up digiconomist.net/bitcoin-energy-consumption and theoildrum.com/node/6252, now obviously this is only bitcoin and I can't vouch for the numbers being 100% accurate, but they're probably at least within an order of magnitude or two. 62.92 terawatt hours used to do nothing but compute imaginary numbers to convert into imaginary currency. Meanwhile this energy could have been used to produce 146 billion pounds of corn (the most energy cheap food on that list), or 2 billion pounds of beef (the most energy expensive food on that list) Just think of all the people you could feed with 146 billion pounds of corn, but instead we are squandering that energy on calculating pointless imaginary numbers to convert into imaginary currency. It's disgraceful. At the very least don't we owe it to ourselves to create a form of currency that isn't directly tied to throwing away resources for no meaningful gain?

You can upload shit you got off deezloader on RED. As long as you understand what a lossy master is and how to check a spectral you could get extremely far using that technique while losers in this thread whine about only uploading 10mb. The obvious public source for flacs, rutracker, is a shithole. Soulseek barely has any but sometimes you can get lucky, ymmv. Better using that to fill mp3 requests but that's only for the pros. If you don't know what you're doing avoid that or risk losing your account.
