I'm not trolling, when did you grow out of the "luxury" watch shit and realize that, even if some of them are gorgeous pieces of art, the cost associated with owning one just can't be justified. Even a fucking 7750 costs over $500 to service at a reputable watchmaker. Because of that I stick with low beat jap movements and and quartz. Owning a luxury watch or any higher beat mechanical is basically just being a shabbos goy in the post mountain jew world.
>I'm not trolling, when did you grow out of the "luxury" watch shit and realize that, even if some of them are gorgeous pieces of art, the cost associated with owning one just can't be justified.
fuck it's unironically gorgeous but the horrendous setting method combined with the shitty hair pulling bracelet are turnoffs, especially at 20 freedom bucks.
Charles Stewart
>Owning a luxury watch or any higher beat mechanical is basically just being a shabbos goy in the post mountain jew world. Yeah, it's for brainlets and / or rich fags who have the money to justify it. Use the one days wage rule in the watch price if you are generally unsure.
even if I had the money I couldn't justify being taken advantage of. Rolex has no reason to ramp up prices every single year, and even companies I respect like sinn do the same.
Noah Anderson
It's not that bad, just takes a bit more time to set the analog dial. The bracelet doesn't pull hair actually, but it can vary I suppose.
Luxury watches just like any area of business is still just business. They will charge as much as they can for their products.
Tyler Sanders
and let's not even talk about "service" costs. if you cheap out and give your expensive timepiece to some retard you'll probably get it back in worse condition than before. The only way to ensure that your watch is getting professional care is to fork over hundreds, sometimes thousands depending on the watch. That's why with all the popular "entry level" watches like the moonwatch, most of the mongoloids that buy them leave them unserviced for years. So you fall for the meme and buy a used one only to discover that it's keeping shitty time, the chrono hand jumps etc. Plus you never know how bad the previous owner manhandled it. This whole "hobby" is a shitty meme and I'm glad the most expensive watch I bought was like $150. It's sad too because I've loved watches since I was a kid. >miss the time >have to wait until the hands cycle back I'll take that over those shitty chink ana-digis with separate analog and digital modules though, the drift between them would drive my autism into over drive. Fuck you're making me want one user.
The problem is that every company wants to be luxury now. I refuse to be a shabbos goy falling for mid-tier swissshit scams or forking over 8k to rolex just for them to hand me an $800 bill every 3 years.

Ferrari is owned by Fiat, and that brand is still just as strong. What matters is the philosophy behind the brand. And you can try to shit on Breitling all you want, their philosophy is ace. They make literally everything themselves, including the hands (which Rolex doesn't even do), they have an entire building called "chronometrie" which is dedicated entirely to making every single watch they make run withing COSC spec, and the in-house chronograph they developed a few years ago is one of the most advanced chronograph movements ever.
>I'll take that over those shitty chink ana-digis with separate analog and digital modules though, the drift between them would drive my autism into over drive. That's one of the reasons I like the Casio too, the sync between the times is nice and it pleases me to see the minute hand jump a bit exactly every 20 seconds.
Nolan Allen
Welcome to the enlightened club user. Luckily there are many interesting vintage pieces available.
Jace Garcia
>I want to know what watch it is but then I know you don't want to do that. What is it in the vaguest terms possible? A penisquartz? It is a swiss quartz watch
Nathan Torres
>And you can try to shit on Breitling all you want, their philosophy is ace. dude they just want your money how empty is your life that you're humanizing a faceless corp and giving them thousands for a finished block of steel because they put some buzzword stickers on them. Get help.
>dude they just want your money Lmao, so does every watch brand ever. Ever.
>how empty is your life that you're humanizing a faceless corp and giving them thousands for a finished block of steel because they put some buzzword stickers on them. >Get help. Yes, pick on me for buying something that isn't 100% function-drive and necessary. I'm the first and only person in the world to do anything like this. You absolute fucking commie retard.
John Walker
Seiko's anadigis drive both readouts with the same crystal and the analog movement is jeweled. They don't drift apart.
So do the digital seconds still move when you pull out the crown while the analog seconds hack?
Asher Torres
It's a busted up piece of shit, user. Though when I serviced it a few months ago it turned out really good, well apart from the vertical clutch which is fucked on almost every surviving 6139.
Yes, and then while the crown is out you can hit the bottom pusher to set the digital display to :00.
Tyler Edwards
Why are you defending people you've never seen or interacted with, who see you solely as a money cow?

Does anyone sell a bracelet like pic related for the skx007? I can only find oyster/president/jubilee bracelets. Also, does that kind of bracelet have a name?
Because they make watches the right way. The shit I listed here: is what makes the difference between a shitter and a winner.
What the fuck are you even doing here in the watch thread?
Blake Howard
I know we like to think we buy watches to impress only ourselves, but OF COURSE I did take a look at how the watch wears in the mirror.
I realized, that this is pretty much a stealth piece, from afar it's going to look like you're wearing a G-Shock or an oversized plastic "sport" fashion shitter. Only up closer can you see that it's really something else, an iconic toolhorse of nautical haughty horology.
The true nature of the watch start to become recognizable when moving in from public space to social space, which is the perfect distance for a "stealth" piece. Something like a Datejust for example is recognizable more from inside personal space, beyond that it can be a fucking Casio.

you have a fucking cheap looking black seiko, you bought on ebay or whatever lol
Caleb Turner
Yes, not with that exact look though.

How the hell had no one on /wt/ discovered the Casio w217h before now? This thing is like a slightly bigger f91w, but with springbars, an even more legible display, and a much brighter LED. Plus it's available with a beige screen and amber LED.

I'll repeat from last thread: Whatever other things may commend Breitling as a brand, I feel that the case finishing with excessive lozenging and all buffer wheel polished surfaces, flat, stamped, chromed hands and chromed indices are nowhere near adequate for the pricepoints they sell their watches at.
In person I've always found the external finishing frankly shocking compared even to other conglomerate brands at a similar price.
That said, the B01 is a great movement.
Charles Mitchell
>dumb edgy shit No.
Asher Bennett
I don't know of anyone besides Seiko who makes those five piece, angular center link oyster bracelets, and I don't think any of them would fit the SKX.
Ok I’ll try asking again since last time I asked the thread was being spammed by some gay guy, can you swap the band on the coutura with a leather one?
