No brainlets allowed, discussion of Casio watches is welcome. This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
At full wind for the zodiac SST. Not bad for no service history and 45 years old. This line of 36k movements (same basic design in the GP, FL, and others) had a short power reserve and therefore meaningful isochronism issues; I'll leave it off the winder and check it again tomorrow.
I paid $100 for mine. It seems like this particular one you can usually get for around $100 if you're patient and the auction doesn't get trolled like this one did . I waited about 6-8 months I think to find one at $100.
They're not really "worth" 100 in any sense other than being fun.

Alpenis. Very nice, my man. Thanks, I was meaning to ask earlier but kept forgetting.
Geisterstund (GB192) is a mystery dial watch. Fun fact about old Swatches, you can't actually wear some of them. Their bands have dried out and will crack if you put it on. Check out this guy's cracked band on the ghost watch.
I was surprised too, because I don't think I ever saw the Lemania guy with a shirt, but I thought that his post was a response to that one
Daniel Russell
I'd change the bezel to the original one you posted. The upsidedown 30 is annoying.
Camden Fisher
It's got a bunch of numbers on it and to be honest I'm not too familiar with citizen's dial reference system. Best bet if you want one is just to keep search for citizen cosmotrons. I've seen two of this particular model in the last 18-24 months, although only this one included the bracelet. There are so many varieties of 7803a dials and cases it's almost impossible to find particular styles.
How much are you actually willing to spend on that watch?
Anthony Bell
but ebay is more strict than most sites, you have to tie PayPal to a bank account
are you not going to get banned if you don't pay? I have seen a friend do this and because he logged on to both ebay accounts from the same IP all the time they both got banned, ebay is pretty good at that since actual money and the integrity of the site is on the line when shill bidders fuck things up
I thought you always wear flannel like a real Canadian should.
Dominic Morales
Not a penny. I made it a while ago before PayPal accounts had to be linked. While it’s possible my legitimate and troll accounts will be banned it won’t really effect me since I don’t actually buy anything off eBay anymore. I went through a phase of impulse buying shit on there and realized I needed to stop wasting money. The only reading I bid on this one was to be entertained by this thread.
Dylan Edwards
he only does that so he can pull the watch down to his hand and cover his arm down to the watch and hide his obesity
Nathaniel Morgan
Don't bully pls, he's gonna leave me his datejust.
Canadabro, what's a nice cheapo knife to get? He's literally wearing it in that picture.
Xavier Kelly
Go on Jow Forums and ask in the current knife thread general and I'll give you some suggestions.

I feel stupid and colorblind now. I couldn’t tell what color either of those were to save my life. That looks great, I say this as someone who doesn’t like Rolexs on anything but bracelets.
Leo Cook
Personally I like four and five digit Datejusts with flitted bezels on straps more than on bracelets. The only way I'd keep a vintage DJ on the bracelet is if it was a smooth bezel on an oyster, like pic related 16200.
There were a few regulars that really liked them, but those dudes are watchfags anyways. Also some random dudes have looked at, mostly the lange one. Since yesterday (when I put it out there) two random lads looked at the omega one.
Christopher Walker
lots of dudes and lads ever see any chicks??
Adam Garcia
Swapped to red strap for the weekend. Having a Bergeon 7825 makes it so easy.
Any Toronto fags on here? Heading to RDV on Tuesday for a hands on of the Basel releases. Looking forward to see the Pepsi on Jubilee.
As soon as you get a chance, sell that abomination and get a good looking rolex.
Lucas King
Unironically this. I don’t understand how yachtmasters have any appeal.
Ayden Roberts
>Any Toronto fags on here? Yes
>Heading to RDV on Tuesday for a hands on of the Basel releases. Cool, only new Swiss release I liked was the BB58, tho my local Grand Seiko dealer is supposed to be getting an SBGH267, so I should check if I can see it before it's gone.
That wasn't fun. Just changed the crystal on this, the 3rd party one that watchmakeranon put on for me was cracked due to it not fitting properly, so I've always meant to change it for a Seiko crystal. The original crystal exploded when I removed it, and my shaky hands didn't help putting the movement back in place, but it's all done and the crystal is the proper one with no cracks. Happy days.
Nice Batman but how do you guys type on a flat keyboard?
William Peterson
This As far as I can tell from the description *something* is cracked, the bracelet isn’t original, and I’m assuming the “battery is dead so idk if it works” is code for “it’s broken but I don’t want to tell you” I’m going in complety blind on it.
That's all I needed. Here's the watch you've bought in the Seiko catalogue from 1976, as you can see the bracelet is different (XQB260 is the reference for it). I've no idea what model the bracelet you have is from, but at least it fits properly so that it lines up with the case, most replacement bracelets don't and look terrible.
