Installing Args Linugs

Yesterday I made a thread bitching about Arch because I didn't know what I was getting into. Today I'm going to try again on my laptop. I will let you know how it goes.

Installing it isn't hard, what's hard is getting it to a usable state after having finished installing, like setting up polkit, gtk rules, qt/gtk theme parity, icons, auto-mounting, audio, notifications and what not

I'm gonna make a primary boot and a swap in ext4 format. Using a program called cfdisk.

So what you still need to set up gtk for firefox and your file manager

STEP 9: Format primary partition: mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda1

STEP 10: Format and enable swap partition:
mkswap /dev/sda2
swapon /dev/sda2

STEP 11: Mount the file systems:
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
mkdir /mnt/boot

STEP 12: Install the base packages:
pacstrap /mnt base

I had some driver issues along the way that had to be fixed. Overall I am underwhelmed at the end result. Its not really any better than my previous lubuntu install. I will sit on this for a few days to give it a fair shot.
