Screenfetch Thread

I installed Arch on my new laptop, took me a while to figure it out but was worth it I think. Really like LXDE over the 3d bloated gnome shit desktop. Also love the RAM usage.

Anyone know how to get the global dark shit on ubuntu?

Install gentoo

>new laptop
>core 2 duo
I didn't know this was 2008

Also just installed arch in my families computer, its a pain to ass to get into working condition though My sister wanted spotify on it and I have not been able to do so, only get the program running with it just showing black whenever I open the program. otherwise, i'd guess its ok. Most programs can be installed fairly simply and as long as you dont do a minimal install most things will work "out of the box" to say after installation.

Ive been using Manjaro since the beginning and i've been reluctant to leave it because it has so many files, it'd be a pain to migrate. and at least it works more out of the box than Arch does.

What's global dark shit?

that's a pretty nice pape user
not a fan of separate window decorations for browsers desu
surely you could crop in?
dude took the african root of ubuntu way too seriously

What's global dark shit?
It's niggers, that being what Ubuntu is all about

>surely you could crop in?
you would lose the shadow's on the bottom left, an essential component of what makes the drawing so amazing.

MQ means quad core/ 8 threads you mong.

>comparable performance
>2014 i7 is "comparable" to a core 2 duo
what the fuck are you going on about? Are you actually retarded?

Any cpu that is sever years older than a core 2 duo is obviously going to be better.

This should be obvious, this could have been an i3 or Pentium of the same generation and still would have outperformed the t7250.

how old is your pc?

Have you tried to check if is avaiable the Adwaita Dark Theme in lxappearance?
Core 2 Duos are still kinda good for light usage like listening to music, watching locally stored videos and checking my mail, of course heavier websites like YouTube and Twitch won't be as snappy as in a higher performance machine but with an easy workaround I managed to view 1080p@60fps videos on both sites thanks to mpv and youtube-dl and the whole process took no longer than 1 minute.

get out pedofag

I accidentally downloaded and installed the newest manjaro the day after version release

it's now my main over windows 10

I feel kinda bad abandoning my shitposting ubuntu cinnamon-XP for it but not really because it was DISGUSTINGLY SLOW in comparison.

Finally switched over to linux from windows.only reason im using mint and not arch or gentoo is because i've gotten used to the package manager on it. otherwise I'd be 100% back to arch.

Attached: Screenshot from 2018-04-30 03-00-31.png (1440x900, 1.02M)

I started on ubuntu but quickly switched to fedora and gnome 3 (8 years ago) and i've grown used to it over the time.

I don't know why people bash on gnome at all, it is the most practical graphical interface i've yet to see on linux.
I can work all day without using my command line more than i would on windows (i'm a web dev)

Why everyone here uses Linux to fap on anime instead of doing actual work?
This place is a mess

i do work on linux, and traps are gay so i don't watch anime

post your config?

Does anyone have good tutorials on color schemes? I've been using terminal.sexy but I find myself limited to its use due to lack of proper knowledge on the matter.

Doing what exactly?

Web browsing.

Why does web browsers chow ram like hungry africans?

github.com/Riyyi/dotfiles

It might not necessarily be the browser's fault.

whatever floats your goat mang

Chris, weren't you trying to start chinks game on wine on lubuntu?

you can probably sell that for a good $400-500 user

absolute patrician
b8/10
mostly comfy but needs a different dock
that's a surprising number of packages
people mostly bash on gnome because their devs are highly controlling and will remove features which they personally don't use, but others do, for little reason beyond clutter. Their project, their code, but it seems nonsensical to me.
pretty good
comfy, what zsh addon do you use?
wow that's a super obvious green screen in 2049 now that I've seen a still
otherwise pretty great for a usb boot, I'd use this
>meme resolution
you're doin alright
great use of screen space, faggot
comfy af. post pape?
why not go ahead and set zsh as default?
gets me every time

>why not go ahead and set zsh as default?
It is, idk why neofetch lists bash as shell

since I should probably post my own screenfetch, here you go, rip it apart
deepin is unironically comfy even if it's a massive resource hog

Attached: 2018-04-25-224930_1920x1080_scrot.png (1920x1080, 1.59M)

wow, this looks a lot more saturated on my desktop monitor than on my laptop
my laptop has an exceedingly shitty screen

>comfy, what zsh addon do you use?
none actually, its all in here
github.com/Riyyi/dotfiles/blob/master/.config/zsh/.zshrc

woops, meant theme
never really understood the differences between the built-in themes

It's my own theme, same link, line 38

neat, that explained a lot of how to configure my prompt, thanks for the example

genuinely not sure what I think about that topbar
maybe it would be better if the color and opacity were the same as the terminal, but then again maybe not?
needs more meme icons

isn't that just hinting set to 11 with pixel order we don't have on our displays, not the font per se?

Try doing some pseudo-transparency tricks with the background of the terminal to make it more usable (and maybe tweak the colors a bit for better readability). The general color theme and look that I assume you are going for is fine, just get that same to the bar as well

this is bait right? and why do you even have the gnome extension if you don't use gnome

ok yeah fix your shit
>isn't that just hinting set to 11 with pixel order we don't have on our displays, not the font per se?
whatever the issue is with the font itself, font color on the bar is also pretty shit, there's definitely a color scheme that wouldn't clash with the entire rest of the desktop and red/green isn't it

i was using gnome, forgot to remove the extension

Meh

Attached: 1507563488187.png (3649x1537, 2.78M)

apply yourself
people will think this feels comfy because you chose a good color scheme and good window decorations but that font is awful
blue/black isn't really my thing but you implemented this well

Shinonome is the second greatest font of all time, after Helvetica
I ported it from plan 9 just so I could use it on my macbook

so why are you settling for second-best?

>you implemented this well
thx, i think i have no more to do (just the bar maybe, haven't tried polybar yet)

I ended up with Alpine Linux when looking for the most suckless but practical distro.
I had to install less because the less of busybox didn't work with git.
I encountered problems with gettext when trying to compile nano with autotools, in the end I had to download a release and compile with ./configure.
Also I tried LaTeX for the 1st time and it was horrible, but I don't know if it's because LaTeX is bloated or it's set up incorrectly.
gdb didn't work with standard kernel so I ended up using Alpine Linux Vanilla without all the grsec snakeoil.
Other than that, it was a pleasure.
Maybe some few minor incoveniences here and there, too small to remember.

>3GB RAM
this drives me up the fucking wall. WHY?

how did you use screenfetch in powershell?

jesus fucking christ user

similiar here, i just found this Aspire1300 in the basement, it was quite a pain installing it, because it can only boot from cd/floppy externally, so i had to use network boot
