Why can't you install a KDE app without installing the entire DE?

krita depends on qt5, so it probably fetches some qt5 libs.

It's a demanding girl, but it does worth it.
That fluffy tail.

I don't care that much about package count but why do they have to be such assholes and make the DE a dependency? You can install software from other DEs just fine but anything KDE will pull in the entire DE as a dependency

Use mypaint for art.
Gimp is fine for pure editing.

Are you sure it's pulling in KDE and not just Qt?
That seems like your package maintainer messed up.

not op, but it does want a bunch of kde-specific things
i already have qt5 installed for other things, and it still wants 250M of stuff (krita itself is 130M)

critically-- it depends on kio (which is what pulls in most of the kde-specifics)
not sure yet if krita can be built without kio

Use the AppImage

Why do you care? Is 90 MB of download too much for you?

Arch users are autistic. Who cares you fucking loser. Use the AppImage if you care that much. Neck yourself stupid faggot frogposter

>336mb installed
Wow, it's fucking nothing.

y im sure, qt is just qt5-base and maybe a few other like qt5-webengine and such

Why aren't you using KDE in the first place?

It's a fair trade for the amount of productivity you get from Krita. You can do a lot with it. I'm genuinely surprised this is open source, I would put it on par with CSP or Paint Tool Sai.

Should the entire OS be compiled into a single binary? No. Neither is anything KDE.

csp>krita>sai in pure performance

Use LXQt as DE (aka Openbox + Qt)

It's not so minimalist as i3 or pure Openbox
But at least it's quite minimalist compared to Xfce

Why not pinta?

What about snap?

It's called "unix-way" that's why old crowd of Windows users hate it.

Appimage/snap/flatpak

Installing software from repositories is outdated and dead.

>depends on literally pajeet tier Linux port of .NET

Why don't you use KDE?
