I like my measurements to reflect real-world use cases, not irrelevant "standards". Plus i have enough intellect to divide by more than 10.

Quick, what weighs a pound.

A 1lb rock

>what ways a pound
A pound of something. The measurement pound is used because it's equivalent to 7,000 grains, and is an easily comparable unit of measurement. Like i weigh 180lbs. That's easy to visualize and understand. Pick up a rock or a bag sugar, it'll be close to a pound.

I've never seen a bag of sugar that weighs that little. In the US the average bag is 4lbs (about 1.8kg) and outside of the US they're exactly 1kg.
