What foss do you use on your phone user?
I've recently installed fdroid and been trying a couple of apps, like tusky, clover and briar
Besides that, I also have orbot, orfox, firefox mobile and focus, signal and telegram intalled

microG isn't gapps. It doesn't actually do anything but trick apps into thinking google services is present.

A lot of 'apps' don't work like gmail (work email) and in general a lot of problems crop up whenever i de Google mu device i definitely give this is a try I've been trying to de Google my phone for years, does maps work?

I think google maps/ wayzes will work with microG haven't tried it. Or just shill out the bucks for a good proprietary non-google offline maps program.
The stock email app IMAPS perfectly into gmail. If you want to totally degoogle, go photon mail. You'll pay for it tho.
The trade off is basically, free and botnet or paid and not botnet. Just don't ever do paid and botnet (windblows, etc)

I too use Nova. Nova Prime actually. It was super cool i got an activation code to use it without the play store, emailed them and they replied the next morning.

Just look it up. The cool thing is you can whitelist/ blacklist apps for updates. I update my banking app and some others thru f-droid.
but, i guess you'll get some nasties backed in. theres a reason fdroid build all apps be4 they got released.
