slow connection cucks stay out

Is windows support first class nao?

Attached: 1485911050942.jpg (882x731, 132K)

Still says preview release so no, but it might be mature enough for daily use.

I prefer my torrents stalled

qStalledmeme is bad

no

I'm getting an error on the self-update.

should I switch from deluge to this?

I'm fine with qbittorrent, a client that actually has features

How are you supposed to instantly download a ~10GiB move? I don't see your the point of your logic.

self update is a meme

>rss
>worthy feature

>implying I meant instant.

install deluge

>the absolute state of tripfags

>graph
>search with plugins

>needing a graph
>needing a search plugin
>using public trackers at all

It actually saved me during the Nyaapocalypse. Was panic torrenting 10s of animes and Qbittorrent was showing me the stalled meme despite being a fresh install. I grabbed a Windows build and it just worked desu

By not living in a shithole? With a gbit connection it'll only take 1+(1/3) minutes.

How many times has Transmission been literally trojaned now? Twice? 3 times? I'm going to wait a few days and see how it shakes out.

I don't need a graph but it's a nice feature to have. I like the search plugin for when I'm torrenting away from my home network.

Sorry, can't do this on Transmission.

>American kb-let

>Waiting
Why, is your internet too slow to stream?

nobody uses ubotnet though, most people use qbitt because it has more features

I don't stream. I download to my NAS while I'm at work.

uhh.. click download and then open the fucking video.mkv.part and watch it as it downloads you fucking faggot?

I re-encode all the videos I get cuz not 1 person encodes good videos.

I'm in USA and have better internet than you do

>nobody uses ubotnet though

tell that to your peer lists

i open transmission for first time on my obongo and i see a conection from this ip 89.65.222.121

am i fucked?

>Gotham Digital Science
Batman?

Last time I used Transmission it pre-allocated space for parts that I wasn't downloading. Qbittorrent doesn't do that unless I ask it to.

>and watch it as it downloads
you can't, it's not a sequential downloads

how about you use popcorntime dum' ass

lol no you don't

yes
expect a knock on your door

yes you can

well you don't have a 10gbps connection, so yes I do

>1GB/s
why do you lie on the internet

playback will skip randomly

not lying at all,

sure you're not

>waaaa my internet is slow as fuck and I got destroyed by someone online

>Not seeding
How are you contributing then?

>destroyed
my oh my, we sure are over compensating aren't we

It's graphically a little buggy but it seems to connect and download just fine.

>I'm getting an error on the self-update.

github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/600

pointless

Is this better than qBittorrent?

>Cant even change file names of torrents.
What is this shit?

Why the fuck are you downloading a 10 gigabyte movie?

Uses less ram at least.

because I'm not a drivelet like you

this, most remuxes are bigger than that

with qbittorrent you can do this

According to my peer list Xunlei numba won.

But I already use Deluge, the superior BitTorrent client.

where my transmission-qt niggas at

>idk what remux is
obviously. since they aren't re-encoded they're raw from the bluray which they max out.. being 50gb

>pre-allocated space for parts that I wasn't downloading
>Qbittorrent doesn't do that unless I ask it to.
that doesn't make sense.
bit torrent pieces may overlap file boundaries, so it's very rare that you can only get one file.

I'll stick with Vuze thanks

the website was breached once and had tainted downloads for Mac for two days.
but they didn't have the private key to make a tainted auto-update.
too bad auto-updater is broken since 2.92.

anyway, now most things are on github.
it's harder to breach a github account than some random, old website.
so this should be safe:
github.com/transmission/transmission-releases

or compile it yourself.

both are pretty bad.

protocol:
libtransmission is probably bit torrent protocol anno 2008: missing essential BEP-6
libutp integration is an ugly hack (let's find random values where the speed is somewhat constant) that can't even be updated to latest libutp despite security holes.

libtorrent-rasterbar is in theory so much better.
supports way more BEPs and dev was once hired by BitTorrent Inc, so did bit-torrent stuff full-time and actually wrote some BEPs.
but all library consumers have some weird bugs, especially qbittorrent.

gui:
transmission is native on Mac but minimal
qbittorent is Qt5, so native on KDE Plasma and not that minimal with lots of settings (tho not all libtorrent-rasterbar ones)

development:
transmission is pretty dead and can hardly be arsed to even update for security holes (one of the worst open-source projects in that regard according to google's project zero)
qbittorrent looks pretty unprofessional (can't even triage bugs) but active.
libtorrent-rasterbar does okay, mostly bug-fixing.

Vuze has no native support for mainline-DHT but their own incompatible DHT that's worse design and has way less peers.

So what is good/best?

It still has a serious vulnerability that let anyone take control remotely relatively easily. That wasn't fixed for over 3 months after they were informed.

qbittorrent has a toggle for pre-allocation, and stores extra chunks in a temporary file that is deleted when the torrent is removed

rtorent vs transmission?

None of them are good, some are just less bad.

bullshit.
was fixed in 2.93 and only ever in transmission-daemon when using default settings.

i don't remember libtorrent-rasterbar having that functionality.
looking at github.com/arvidn/libtorrent/blob/master/include/libtorrent/storage_defs.hpp
i don't see it either.

if qbittorrent devs really hack such low-level things in themselves, no wonder it stalls.

x265 exists for a reason

brainlet
>transmission is pretty dead and can hardly be arsed to even update for security holes
source: your ass

Is this still bloated as hell?

>source: your ass
bugs.chromium.org/p/project-zero/issues/detail?id=1447#c4

>transmission
>bloated
Wow.

Attached: 1488420686916.jpg (500x281, 26K)

Compared to utorrent 2.2.1, yes.

I just realized this probably explains an issue I had with qbittorrent re-checking and re-downloading certain files

Sure they took a long time to do anything, after the bug became public an update was released a week later.
It's bad but not what I'd call "pretty dead".

>Using ancient software to allow random people direct IP access to your network
ishiggydiggy

transmission-gtk: 19.50 GB free
transmission-qt: 19.50 GB free
qbittorrent: 18.15 GiB free

SI niggers need to fuck off

Question hopefully someone can answer:

If I upgrade does it keep my previous torrents in the client? I move all my .tor files to the trash and want to make sure I don't have to manually add all the shit I'm supposed to seed.

What did he mean by this?

You can get RSS and every other qBT feature with the exception of sequential downloading with a few other programs on Transmission
That's awful for any FOSS project

>an update was released a week later
except they messed up the version number, so auto-update still thought 2.92 was latest on Mac:
github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/506
only 2.94 fixed that just now, but auto-updater can't apply the update on latest macOS:
github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/600

so you are now supposed to download it from their website which in the past was hacked and handed out malware.

how anyone can think that this is not a total dumpster fire is beyond me.

>No socks5 proxy support

Nice, how utterly useless.

>10GB
>taking longer than 30 minutes to download
Go take a walk or something, then watch your movie. Make some food. Order a pizza and read.

a GiB is more than a GB.
I presume people are shilling qb as "smaller" using these metrics.

fag you dont know shit
thats because it has sequential download
also there is a patch for sequential download you can use for transmission

Yes the team is absolutely incompetent, doesn't change that Transmission is a great client.
Though, none of these issues even mattered to me since I install from the distro repos.

>he torrents over proxies

Attached: 1504511920403.jpg (890x890, 222K)

qbittorrent is better under linux. just my personal opinion.

Deluge is better

no it isn't

2.2.1 is not affected, sorry to ruin your FUD.
2.2.1 will remain as the single best GUI torrent client for decades to come.

yes good now notify me when they fix Qt

I meant about the free part. Free what?

I completely missed that. No idea. Perhaps it's what the program says is the amount of free space on disk? Dunno.

>Perhaps it's what the program says is the amount of free space on disk
I presumed the same, but I rejected the notion because it's a retarded argument to make. Maybe he's just stupid.

It's never ok to display sizes as GB. Competely ruins the whole program.
