I do not have knowledge about programming;coding or pentesting.

I'm just curious, I've seen so many videos about "working" in this OS, and it's capabilities, so I want to learn it.
I know I know "you like shooting so u installed biggest rail gun in your backyard and you can't even start the damn thing"

The question I wanted to ask is:
Can someone (or does someone know of a) good book about how to use this "rail gun" on internet (PDF format, just to download it and get to know basics).

Also, I would like to mention any tips for a straight beginner, who is willing to start programming course if needed.
I really want to learn working in Kali,

God I'm nervous, first time on this site.
So I've watched a lot of videos about this tool(box) and read a lot about it. I just want informations. From you guys, and when I learn how to use this tool(box) how to obtain informations that are normally not obtainable for me.

if your serious, hacking the art of exploitation really gets into this stuff

if you just want to do basic surface level pentesting, this ought to do it:

alot of youtube videos already teach kali linux fairly decently, covering basics such as osint, etc.

But keep in mind if you want to be a really well versed pentester, knowledge about networking, programming and some linux commands is very beneficial to have before starting to learn pentesting.

tbqh kali linux isn't really a railgun, more like an AK-47 every pentester and his mother has used before, but that only shows how good it is generally.

I've got ur IP. Send me Bitcoin or I'll wipe 127.0.0.1 completely off the internet

Use blackarch. Kali is shit. Learn C and pythong for this field.

You wouldn't dare

Attached: dU1VinQ.jpg (960x953, 112K)

oh yes OP, 127.0.0.1 refers to your local ip address, the default most computers use when not connected to a wider network.

it should be noted knowing networking basics will enhance your pentesting skills, understanding how routers assign addresses through routine checks to client computers for example lets you understand why certain attacks operate on forcing routers to carry this out, so you can gain knowledge on the network topology.

>But keep in mind if you want to be a really well versed pentester, knowledge about networking, programming and some linux commands is very beneficial to have before starting to learn pentesting.
So I was thinking about starting with python, and take a course in/on RedHat (servers and stuff)
Then take on C (C sharp and ++ because everyone seems to have troubles with C family even experienced coders)
I've been reading for a few days threads and posts here and you guys say that coding is never ending learning, I mean everything is but as I plan to start why not with Python.

I'm on my cellphone right now, running from a hotspot to hotspot. I think that it's pretty hard job to trace me LoL.
Please don't do something to prove me wrong ^^

python is ok, but eventually you will have to confront topics like memory allocation, disassembly with gdb to do babby buffer overflows etc. python does'nt really prepare you for that compared to C++, but if you have 0 understanding of programming python is probably less frustrating and lets you get more done in shorter amounts of time.

Also you don't need like an RHCSA, but reading up guides on linux and it's common commands is key.

>^^

are you a grill or something

well unless you seriously piss someone off online you probably won't get tracked.

That's Kali linux - it's not particularly special in any sense, no "rail gun", it's just an operating system with some useful tools built in for pentesters.

If you want to get into security, you don't really start with kali. You start by learning how it all works *before* you break it. Learn how to program, and how programs can fail if you do them wrong. Pick up a little scripting language like python. And maybe a little about protocols, especially HTTP.

Then you can get started on intentionally breaking into things - how can you use those basics to find mistakes others have made and use them to your advantage?

Kali isn't a magic wand, it won't make you a super 1337 hacker or anything. It'll just make your life easier if you want to break into things.

Dude I've also read that Anonymous started from this page back in 06-08, pretty big big fan of them. Also personally supported Julian Assange, just discovering other sides of internet, not just Google, bing, Facebook and YouTube.
Now I'm obsessed with what is behind this internet as most of people know it.

It's a german thing

they do the ^^ thing for reasons I don't quite understand

It would be ba a painful slap in the face but hey

Wtf, how do u know I'm from. Germany wtf dude.

Then kali isn't for you read the webpage

your not answering the question

anonymous got where it is by having a number of talented hackers, so you should probably take 's advice aswell on what to do even before getting into kali.

although, if you already have installed kali you could use it to learn C and python i guess

>Wtf, how do u know I'm from. Germany wtf dude

You used "^^"
I have only ever seen germans use that.
Just observation and a best guess

so it's similar to russians going ))))) ?

I'm taping my cam and mic right now. I do not trust any of you now

yeah exactly, and romanians going :-)))))

some countries have specific "emotes" or whatever we call them these days that aren't seen outside

dude chill

I'm not doing anything to you, or tracking you. All I did was pick up on a country-specific thing you did. I work with some germans so I see it a lot

this thread is absolute /v/ tier reddit shit.
OP just go to the Kali Linux website and click the tab learn. Fuck off with this nu-bait or unironic retardation. LURK MOAR

the only way to get to you would be to take over Jow Forums's server or something and locate which ip is related to your post, even then since your using a phone it's probably some leased IP and not static so it'll be harder to lock down where you actually are so relax.

The amount of informations you just wrote scares me, but at the same time fascinates me.
Which is good for my moral for this shit.

The only thing I got there is documentation on how to install Kali, and I can't install it :/

>The only thing I got there is documentation on how to install Kali, and I can't install it :/

do yourself a favour and learn linux on a more user-friendly platform. Kali is a specialised distribution (meaning... "version" let's say) for pentesting.
With no linux experience you might well screw up your system - maybe use ubuntu for a bit until you're comfortable?

Took me just whole day, and 30 minutes after posting. I'm not that dumb (I just need a DVD to make it my main is) lol ^^

Back in my day it was just a big number of /b/tards using LOIC.

Anonymous was never a "hacking group".

That is Iranians too!

Muh hax

You're not a real hacker if you a require a specific OS to perform a hack

Bloat. Compile linux and add a cli to use packages you hand picked plus gnucoreutils

>watches first ep of Mr. Robot

First of all ask yourself why the fuck you wanna use Kali linux? What's the purpose of you doing so?

Unless you are a pen-tester or a l33t hax0r you really dont need it. It comes installed with tools to break passwords and exploit already known vulnerabilities that any big company has patched already.

If you have no experience on how linux works, know any computer language, dont know what ram on your pc does or whats the difference between local network or the internet this really isnt where you start from and all youll be doing is fucking up the system running it as root and be a script kiddie that does cd.. and cd / and think he matters.

Buy 1-2 books and learn Python, then learn the linux bash and linux shell commands, then take online courses to know how a computer works.
Only way to break something is by knowing how it works and making it yourself then breaking it.

Please let this thread be bait.

Man ist this a hostile environment for a newcomers...

I shit you not - it isn't

Yes, specifically a Weber.

Jow Forums is infamously hostile and elitist

you won't have much luck asking for genuine help here, except from maybe 1 or 2 people at best

I have my reasons and personal satisfaction when I learn it.
And by the way user you are acting like it's an ancient Chinese technique. Nothing personal.

I just want to know things, and in order to know things I need to know (learn) how to pentest.
To get access, to the things I normally don't have access to.

>it's another 'I Just Want to Magically Hack Things and Hope to be Spoonfed Some Master Key Bit of Knowledge That Will Allow Me to Hack Anything Because I Lack the Curiosity to Learn Anything for Myself'

The hacking world is generally hostile and elitist. That's one thing you'll have to deal with.

OP, your opening post is so bad:
> i donno nothing about computers
> but Kali will make me a tru h4x0r amirite
> but how to install pls spoonfeed me

I'm not trying to be hostile here --but 99% of "hacking" and general programming/security work is going to be about looking for information. If you can't manage to google "kali linux books", how do you plan on running even a simple nmap or metasploit command?

My advice is _try_ more, teach yourself some python/ruby/javascript programming, install a basic Linux distribution (Kali will *not* help you right now) and learn more about computer & network architecture.

You've a long way to go. Don't despair at a bunch of NEETs on Jow Forums telling you off or you won't go very far.

You really believe you just gonna be some kind of BADASS by running Kali dont you? You are really stupid if you think youll be anything more than a script kiddie that run scripts some real programmers made and think they can do anything. start from the basics you wont get anywhere and wont learn anything

> I don't have any knowledge of anything ever especially programming/codding and pentesting
> I want to run a distribution dedicated to pentesting and programing

We are all tracked on Jow Forums fren. The feds use this place to build profiles on people. Though I wouldn't really worry about it, because facebook, and Pokemon GO were their biggest data collection tools.

If you really want to make someone angry and negative thinking you really know the way.
im not here to ask for help on how to install Kali linux and i dont expect to be BADASS H4x0r.
just a few tips from where to start.
i got the answer in first few posts so, the rest can BTFO. that was the first thing.
second
i lied, im around here for 4/5 years, and i know that most of you fuckers are just trolls and shitposters who rarely accept newcomer to this site. i ve already started with ruby and python, babysteps. Learning basic terminal comands, FROM KALI.ORG page, burned it to USB, to be as convenient as it can be on almost every mchine, have it dual booted on my machine at home an starting to learn about C and how it moves memory arround - how binary code is translated to assembly, how the machine processess that assembly, and how that gets translated to C code and so on and so on.
i know that its a on fucking way.
FML people here will never chang, i guess thats Reddit for lol

ill just find a site where people are willing to acccept new poeple who want to learn something and solve problems.

o dont worry ive been long enough here to become immune to this kind of shit

Alright.
I'll give you terms to google, google and readup upon them.
Operating system, Unix, Linux, Commands, man page, bash, C language, compiler, linker, loader, executable, assembler, 8086, networking, OSI model, TCP, UDP, Protocols, HTTP,FTP,SMTP, python, and it's fuck ton of third party modules.
When you know at least what do these terms mean, you can start reading any pentesting book or start doing boot2root VM's to get gud.

>people responding genuinely to this thread

Halfiechan really is garbage.

>people trying to be anything other than horrible to someone who clearly has no idea

truly garbage

Care to explain?

>>>/reddi*/

GUI/CLI, Linus Torwalds, free open source clone of Unix, its Kernel not actual OS, has distros. Its safe and fast doesnt need top hardware (which is actually cool),viruses that work on windows probably wont work on Linux, Android
Comands used in linux.
Compiler compiles code to check on errors and translates code so the processor can understand it (goes for C too)
C language seems like noone likes it but its so gud everyone uses it, moves memmory around
Assembler only processor understands
what is operating system o.O
python / very easy fro beginners, print actually prints something to your screen (at least in pythhon 3 )
exectable.exe
http protocol, there is newer more secure version with S on the end

i feel like i know 0,001 percent which is probably even less but hey its something

>trolling this hard

nice

thanks glad u like it

install pentoo

This seems like a good thread to bring this up in.

If you start up kali and wireshark you will see it connect (or at least try to) to a very large amount of different networks.
What specifically is it connecting to? Is there any way to stop it?
Some of the networks look like mirrors, but I don't see why it would feel the need to connect to them without prompting.

Long post, I saved it in a file for you user.

go ahead and post your dropbox link, you'll be a hacker in no time :)

google account?

tghat would enaugh for today

You'll want to learn about programming and pentesting.

Kali is just a 'batteries included' gnu/linux system. You could get the same tools on any other gnu/linux system by installing them in a single command. For example on debian or ubuntu system type 'sudo apt install nmap' to install nmap, which is installed by default on kali or other pentesting OS. The reason people use these dedicated OS's is because commonly used tools are pre-installed and everything runs as root by default (the highest level of privilege - not sane if you're using it as your own OS since you would typically want everything running with the lowest permissions possible by default but a lot of pentesting tools require su privileges and typing sudo a lot is extra effort.

If you want to learn how to use these tools themselves you can look up instruction manuals online. Also learn how to use man pages e.g. type 'man nmap' to read the manual in terminal.

Kali is not a tool, it is a collection of commonly used tools packaged together. You will need to learn how computers, networks, etc. work if you want to get any use of them, and of course how to use those tools.

Well some of them were clearly smarter cookies since they knew exploits beyond just jamming someone's servers with ddos

The first few posts in the thread are already enough advice, now get to work

Also maybe install virtual box, then install the Kali Linux VM and a target VM inside, maybe something like damn vulnerable linux

>I've been online for 4-5 years and don't even know the basics of computing

What's being retarded like, pajeet?
