How do I git gud at networking (specifically in Windows)? I'm an experienced .NET developer but I don't know the slightest thing about networking and it's really starting to become a problem in my work.

For example today I had a simple .NET app that listens on a port running and could reach it by my current network interface's IP address (192.168.xx.xx) but not using localhost or 127.0.0.1. This type of shit comes up way too frequently and I always have to ask for help, it's a pain in the ass.

What can I read to understand all this stuff and be able to troubleshoot things?

for vlc, how do you make the window take up exactly the amount of resolution of the media file? i dont want, say, a 720p show to be stretched on my 4k display

i cant get the source to work right, when i input the streams address it says it isn't found.

I've got a monitor with a USB hub on it and I've got my mouse and keyboard attached. I've also got a USB storage enclosure attached directly to the motherboard, not the monitor hub and it's running a bunch of file copies. Problem is, every time I turn off my monitor the USB enclosure resets for some reason and cancels the file transfer. Anyone know what the deal is? I expect the mouse and keyboard to not work when the monitor power is off, but I can't think of a reason it would affect the enclosure. The enclosure doesn't even turn off, it just cancels whatever it was doing and becomes unmounted.

I have pic related, gtx 760 SC. It always fucks up with the GeForce drivers. Is it fucked?

When I install GeForce drivers, any load will cause flickering black screen until the driver crashes and sometimes blue screens. Youtube videos run but with green artifacts/ squares randomly across the screen.
It works on the windows basic display adapter.
All I can think of at this point is the gpu core just gave up and died, or somehow Its something wrong with the software.

Why isn't this making my player move normally?
I want him to not move extra fast when he's moving diagonally, so I thought that I just had to normalize the vector. But what happens if I leave in the 2 "normalized" lines is that he still moves faster diagonally, but now he moves for one extra second after I let go of a key.
I thought I understood how it worked but now I don't see why this isn't working.

How accurate is smart phone gps?
Would it be reasonable to have an app that detects people 50-100m away that also have the app?

I get all these fucking spam emails that I want to stop.
They all have an unsubscribe link at the bottom run through a proofpoint url.
Every single urldefense.proofpoint.com URL fails, saying site can't be reached.

I understand that the & is specifying the address of x, the first asterisk is specifying that z will equal the value of that memory location, and that the (float) is telling the program that the pointer pointing to &x is now referring to a 4 byte float as opposed to a 4 byte int. What does the * after float do?

First asterisk de-references the pointer.

x as a float points to z as an int.

int and float's are both 4 bytes so there won't be a memory overwrite, so if you read/write x, it will interpret 1 as a float.

You could undo the commit with "git reset HEAD~1" if you want to rollback 1 commit.

I like board games. Have a ton, play often, basically treat Kickstarter like a really slow Amazon. A lot of games have an issue I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with, the documentation just isn't up to snuff(or sometimes there's just errata released later on that isn't in the printed rules). I want to design some nicely formatted quick rule reference things for me to print out and laminate to supplement/replace the included rule books.

Problem: I basically never deal with printed media, and short of real basic Photoshop for images posted online, I don't have any familiarity with design programs. What's a good program to use to do this? Text layout is the most important bit, worst-case I'll use GIMP(decided to give it a try instead of reinstalling Photoshop this time around, want to switch to Linux later on) and blunder my way through with that, but something where I can also do flow charts would be neat. Should I give in and find a copy of Illustrator? I used that years ago, seemed nice enough.

Using any mouse gestures addon for chrome,out of hte blue they are ALL closing two tabs at a time, the one that is focues and the tab to the right.

Why does best buy alone sell a 512gb sandisk ultra 3d, while everyone (including them) sells the 500gb version of the same model, at the exact same price? It has its own model number and everything. I'd have assumed it was just a price match loophole but they sell the standard model too.

It depends on the amount transferred. I basically want to make sure you know how to seed long enough to get by. It does me no good to invite you, have you snatch a bunch of stuff and delete them immediately after watching, and then go, "WHY IS RATIO SO HARD? NOW I CAN'T USE THE SITE!"

I get seed ratios, just having to compete with seed boxes for seeding leaves it so I'm mostly below a .5 seed ratio, not for lack of trying.

What tracker?

Lately my computer has been randomly acting sluggish. Whether I'm just browsing the internet or playing a game, my display will lag tremendously. When in task manager (I'm using Winblows 10), it shows that Desktop Window Manager and Client Server Runtime Process. Any ideas what would cause this? Should I just wipe the slate clean and put in a fresh install of Windows?
