Apple Hate Thread

I need to get a new charger (surprise surprise, bigots) and I'm looking up chargers for my Macbook and their stupid support site doesn't understand model numbers, just listing of things like "MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)".
You have to go to sites like everymac.com to find a sensible model number.
You're much better off getting an IBM clone with Linux.

Mactoddlers will defend this.

I have MacBook Air 13 inch 2014 I guess.
Fucking charger wire insulation had disintegrated in 12 month or so, literally, was sticky like a cum. It wasn't exposed to harsh UV or heat, just ideal 20 deg. c with

you've voided your entire warranty with that little trick

The only thing applel warranties are good for is wiping your ass with.

Woah there, be careful OP. Don't provoke the Apple internet defense squad (AIDS), we don't want ANOTHER thread ruined with their
>you are too poor for iShit xD
>lol poodroid BTFO

Don't buy Apple and it won't matter.

Amazon has a charger compatible with Apple MacBook 13" 13.3" MC461LL/A (A1181,A1184,A1185,A1278,A1280,A1330,A1342,A1344)
but try looking those up on Apple support.

>>Disintegrating charger cables
My biggest complaint about buying Apple products.
Luckily there are a ton of cheap alternatives to buying actual iphone cables. My chink bootleg phone charger has lasted longer than any actual Apple cable has lasted.

>My chink bootleg phone charger has lasted longer than any actual Apple cable has lasted.
yeah it will last forever when they block you from using it just like they blocked 3rd party screens

>be apple
>add stress reliever in the form of a rigid sleeve because fuck tried and tested reliable ways to do things
>stress reliever adds more stress
>other companies start doing the same shit
LITERALLY WHY

> be me
> start work in a factory
> upscale, lots of custom robots
> workers have to be pretty smart
>
> after-hours contact number is a cellphone
> it rings at 3:00 am
> none of us know how to answer
> it's an iphone
> we all use android because we're not richfags

i hope it wasn't an important call.

Your warranty is void the moment you walk out of the store.

>Fucking charger wire insulation had disintegrated in 12 month or so, literally, was sticky like a cum.

i am now picturing a production line in the Shenzen with hundreds of Chinese men fapping into a wire insulating machine.

I love Apple.
Based Apple overcharges idiots and gets away with it. I wouldn't mind working there.

>he thinks he'd be reaping the benefits of Apple's business practices as a regular employee

Hell no, I said that because I like how they treat the customers. Like absolute fucking trash. That's how cattle should be treated. I like their silent philosophy, I would never be benefitted from it being a non-important employee.

As an example, I wouldn't work at google.

i worked tech support for an Apple reseller back in the days of system 7. it was fucking awful. all we ever did was tell people that the salesmen had lied to them and that their new computer which they'd paid thousands of dollars for, was useless.

i got fired when a customer asked about video editing computers and i suggested he buy an Amiga.

>look at proffesional programmers that actually have jobs
>almost all of them use a Macbook Pro™

It's slightly less broken than windows

I just got a DSD Hi-Res dap after years of using my iPhone 6s to play 24bit /48k flac.

No completion game over. My 6s is jailbroken and just got a new battery

Last apple idevice I will ever own and I have a 64gb 4s still ticking along as a backup

My 512gb 2011 Debian MacBook Air is pretty sweet. So is my G4 Mac tower i7 case mod.

Great hardware and aesthetics cheap second hand , Fischer price operating systems ... Tim Cuuck ruined Apple just like Obama ruined America IMHO

ITODDLERS BTFO

I don't care.

>Things that start with i.
Apple still hasn't decided what the "i" stands for.

according to StackOverflow data the developer desktop share is about 40% windows, 35% linux and 15% mac

25% mac*

No wonder StackOverflow is full of shitty entitled people

Get your thoughts together before posting.

fuck the cables, when you spend $2000 on a laptop the motherboard shouldn't just randomly stop working for no good reason

I actually liked Macs before they became Unix based. Had a certain unique feel about them.

I hate that company so much. The word apple for a company is NO, it's a fruit. anyone who uses their products is automatically on my shit list.

Another issue are their horrible power connectors. They always put the current and ground pins so close together, almost touching, just begging to short. My favorite is the Apple Display Connector, running the electricity through the graphics card, wrapped up in the same cord as the video signals.

>28-V
And their stupid proprietary voltage choices, 28V, 24V.

I own tons of Apple products (5 MacBooks of varying spec, a couple of iPad's and a couple of iPhone's) and have never had a cable break, and I pretty much share the same one between them all. wtf do people do to these cables?

Inebriated perhaps

I own 15 Macbooks, 8 iPads and 7 iPhones and never had a single item break during all of their cumulative operational history

Here's an iphone. Call someone who cares.

Attached: 29XYmgE.gif (450x345, 1.85M)

>cumulative operational history
You mean the 3 months before it reaches end-of-life status and things stop working

My 2009 MBP's battery started expanding and couldn't hold a charge by year 4 after purchase. My first charger cable was eaten by my friend's cat, which is not Apple's fault though I had to pay like $80 for a replacement( fucking ridiculous, you could design and build like 10 5V switched mode power supplies for that price). My second cable frayed like in OPs pic due to inadequate strain relief. After that I bought a Chinese knock off cable for like $10. It still works to this day and never frayed though it does get unnervingly hot. I stopped using my MBP a long time ago and did a teardown on the charger so it's inoperable at this time.

My 2012 Macbook's battery also started expanding, and eventually ruptured the base cover. It didn't stop, and has since grown larger than my front door, so I can't get it out of the house. It started absorbing the furniture, and I fear it will eat me next.

>shit cable
>micro usb
desu, applel cables are under 2 dollars all over egay

is apple still chipping their cables so you can't use really cheap bootlegs?

>a cum

>PLANNED
>OBSOLESCENCE

Been using an iMac since 2013. Still running fine, probably the best prebuilt computer I've ever used.

Had worse luck with macbooks though. Never buy an apple portable without applecare.

>be me
>buy a 2011 FagBook Pro

>baby the fucking thing
>plastic shit hinge gets brittle and cracks apart
>letters rub off the keys
>more than 199^42 broken chargers
>the rubber feet fall off
>upgrade to YoSEMITE (oy vey)
>wireless hardware stops working
>starts thrashing my disks, gets all slow
>about 4GB of RAM usage idle
I got a ThinkPad X230 in 2014 and I still use it. The thing is great and dual boots Fedora and Windows 10 LTSB. I get around 12+ hours of light to medium usage with a 9 cell battery. I have access to better software and more of it. This laptop is always cool and I never hear the fans unless I'm multitasking really hard with a dozen programs and VM open. Even then the cooling system does exactly what it's supposed to do.

It stands for imbeciles (the users), incompetence (the engineers), inane (the UX and designers) and indoctrination (the Apple Store employee training).

How will iToddlers ever recover?

OP here.Another problem is their magsafe plugs. Ever deal with a stuck pin?

BTW, did the captcha system just change overnight?

After Jobs died the company went to shit. He really did hold that shit together.

All the cpu's on their laptops are shitty low voltage versions of usually two generations old processor seasons because of the time of their new product releases.

The only good products they have are probably the ipad pro with pencil for artists (works gr8) and the imac pro because the powerful hardware paired with their software which is tied to their chipset works very nicely for music production and video editing. Their software is great for music and video editing and production.

Don't get me started on the new iphones. They force you to get a new one each year or it becomes slower than shit and won't charge. iphone x is shit design. iphone peaked in design at the 5s.

>Their software is great for music and video editing and production
15-25 years ago, yes. I think it's even now with Windows and Linux. Even enough at least.

>mactoddlers can'f even defend this
lmao

> Bought Macbook Air a few years back
> Take home and insert a perfectly working USB drive
> Dialogue box pops up warning a USB device is drawing too much power
> Remove drive and examine the port. Pins are bent to shit
> Put USB drive into PC and it works fine. Inspect it and it looks fine.
> Took Macbook to the Apple store next day and explained what happened
> Repair required the entire mother board be replaced
> Not covered under one day old warranty because of "physical damage"

Never bought any of their shit again.

Apple is horrible with cables thanks to Greenpeace which results in the opposite effect that Greenpeace wanted, more waste thanks to shitty PVC free cables. (PVC can be broken down fully nowadays)
Anyways, to fix both your problems: buy some Sugru from Amazon and put it on the bendy end parts of the cable, it'll become a sort of rubber and the cable will last years.

Serious question: What motivated you to buy it in the first place?
BTW, do you worship Satan?

>the cable will last years
Not if it disintegrates in other places besides the ends.

Have used Apple cables for over a decade. Not a single one began to disintegrate from any other place than the ends. Sure they may get fully disintegrated, but the source always began with the ends, and stopping that helps out a lot.

Mactoddlers have defended this.

It started with Jobs being the interim CEO at some point. He then liked the different sound of iCEO, started adding it to his product lines to both differentiate and also make the names very simple. Apple's phone is literally called iPhone. Imagine another company officially calling their mobile phone 'Phone'. It would barely even work to search if the company made more than 1 of these devices.

its not.
final cut pro is ridiculously efficient at memory and processor management. You can edit high res video on the stupid little baby macbook with no fan. theres a youtube video on it somewhere.

also, asio4all is the only multi driver for peripherals on windows, the chipsets are too broad for them to make something as good as core audio which is on mac.

coreaudio is a codec library thing that allows you to plug and play midi keyboards and guitars and shit into a macbook and it instantly recognizes it without COMPETELY SHITTING THE ENTIRE FUCKING BED ON YOUR PROJECT

>expecting anyone here to know anything about music production at any level

If anything people have moved to Macs even more because Microsoft practically told its users that they're a bunch of retarded tasteless faggots who decided to JUST their own OS after something perfectly good like Windows 7.

How will mactoddlers EVER recover?
