You do realize you can make professional quality games with FOSS software?

It's all very good quality FOSS software enough for most of agdg games.
There's not reason to pirate shit or use software that will mine bitcoins with your PC and mine your personal data.

I am have no and unable to read otherwise i would. thanks for reminding me to end it soon

Well, where's the motion/face tracking software?

Just kidding OP, I don't have times to make games and am only here to stir up shit.
Also, some of the things you mentioned are comic relief tier at best when compared to its propriertary competition, in particular some of the DAW tools.

>Doesnt list SDL2

This

Thanks for the list user

how to make games with libreoffice

lmms is genuine garbage
ardour is absolutely mediocre
there's no good foss daw
actually can't think of any good open source music software (free sure, but not open source)

More important, they don't come with any samples/synths at all.

>Linux will never have a good racing sim
>Linux will never support FFB racing wheels
>Linux users are happy with Super Tux Kart and Speed Dreams because they have never known the pleasure of accurate, real-to-life vehicular physics

pretty sad

>and it's all simple to produce electronical music
That said, I'm disappointed it isn't exclusively cyberwave and eurobeat.

don't blame the tool for your shitty skills.

I got this with sound quality with free sf2 files.
youtube.com/watch?v=DPYzJc1Fm3o

I'm sure a pro can get much more quality.

>youtube.com/watch?v=POldPghof08
>realistic
It's not bad, but let's not go that far, user.

you can improve shitty sf2 files with tweaking the dynamics, using instrument diferent special effects, panning, multiple instruments with random micro out sync.

There's a lot of tricks to improve the sound quality.

I got this with free sf2 from google.

pls rate.

8/10
-2 because too soft and with animuh picture
Otherwise good job I guess.

Why do you specify the versions for Godot, GIMP, and Blender?

any idea how to make vaporwave with any of this stuff?
>inb4 audacity
shit, and no real-time editing like in Fruity Loops so no lol

I guess because software like GIMP has made significant improvements(like UI) since the latest version came out.

>what is Radium

the linux audio stack is amazing, too bad audio applications in linux blow hairy mongoloid asshole

You're the brainlet who can't into subjective language.

There are plenty of good games developed in Godot and other open source engines and frameworks. Even antutu benchmark was made using FOSS tools.

>the linux audio stack is amazing
how so?

JACK is pretty amazing with all the options it gives you and the collection of GUI apps to control it all. Other than that it's a clusterfuck.

*xruns intensely*

Install the realtime kernel and learn how to configure it properly.

>SDL2
>cross platform
>easy to use
>FOSS
mein neggar know wats up

sounds like the theme from final fantasy 4 but with less orchestration, could probably go good in some vidya somewhere

...

Gran Turismo 4 on pcsx2's linux build is all you need my friend

>Blender
As much as I like blender it cannot even be compared to zbrush

All of those suck shit if you actually want to accomplish something.
There's a reason why FOSS isn't used by professional studios.

It's for typing your proposal.

I had a fun idea for what should be a simple game today, then I looked into what was involved in making it a reality to the standards Id expect, then I decided doing virtually anything else was a better use of my time.
I know enough now to map the process out, I just want it to be fun and it isnt, nor is there a will online to make it so by anyone apparently. Every potential hurdle my map came across was met with 'you have to learn how to do x, y and z, read these 3 books, buy this software, learn this language and figure it out on your own' for a project that will likely reach about 200 lines of code.

I dont want to learn how to be a game developer, I want to make one stupid widget that will never even need to leave my computer, the community is rancid.

>All that bloat
All you need is C (God's language of choice), gimp for graphics, and audacity for sound and recording music.
