Does anyone else still bookmark?
If not, how do you find your favorite shit?

Of course I use bookmarks, what sort of fucking retarded question is that?
Your alternative is suggesting that we all keep tabs open forever?

What do you think normies do?

Well what's the alternative you brain dead bastard?

Attached: Hmmm.png (640x523, 222K)

Normies use bookmarks, they just don't right click on them.

>he needs a GUI to use the internet
Learn to use the command line

They havae a separate datamining app for all their favorite sites.

I use the bar

> Keeping tabs open
> Not setting browser to forget when you close it

I'll have my bookmarks organized by topic, thank you very much.

Are you genuinely suggesting that I google the website I want to visit? Because that's something a five year old would do.

pinboard.in

I have over six thousand bookmarks

Bookmarks are Grandpa tech. Get with the time Jedediah.

>Never close your tabs
>Never close your browser
>Never shut down your device

This is the normie code.

LMAO. $11 per year to store hyperlinks. Oh the fucking insanity.

Bookmarks are obsolete because now you can have enough RAM to just leave the tabs open forever

Now you see how Windows users view Linux ones.
>Boy, that typing sure is stupid when I can just click.

What do you do if your browser crashes dipshit? What happens if your cache gets corrupted. Fucking hell, people have become more retarded!! We're supposed to become more advanced.

Can confirm

i bookmark every useful site and tell browser to not keep history and only suggest bookmarks as autocomplete
comfy desu

Yeah. Why would they be obsolete?

I have a weird system. I drag from the URL bar onto my desktop then I organize them in my links folder in subfolders. I periodically move them off to my offline hard drive, and take them out when I need to look something up. I never keep bookmarks on my browser (except basics like google - yea yea don't judge).

This is some AOL level shit.

I don't understand why you would do any of what you described. Worst of all, why would you keep a bookmark of google or other search engines? Why wouldn't you just use a url-bar based search shortcut?

Put urls in a .txt file ?

You got me triggered enough to make a post.
First of all congratulations on being old enough to open your mouth here and shit to come out.
Second, everyone doing work on his personal computing device uses bookmarks.
Be that scheduling pages to read in advance, doing something else in the background that requires RAM to be available instead Chrome or FF hogging 2GB for few tabs open ect.

Wow...just fucking wow.

Bookmarks are a must. But combining it with a reading list is the best. Bookmarks are to keep your favorite sites and useful sites you want to remember existing in a couple years or so. A reading list is nice to get through a bunch of current items, like articles. Using millions of open tabs is retarded since it takes up many resources and is volatile.

So you never clear your history so you can still take advantage of being able to type an addresses keyword to bring it up?

It kinda makes sense when you think about how different browsers store their native bookmarks (before you export to html for eg.) differently but then it seems in-fucking-credibly cumbersome to have to drill down thru file manager sub folders to find what you want and then how do you force it to open in a new tab rather than ending up with multiple resource hungry browser windows open?

Attached: lara-vella-1093575.jpg (1920x1080, 202K)

dude i did the same thing for years up till recently. Ive been just bookmarking in waterfox lately.

lol wtf I kind of do this. I don't organize them though. The idea is that I will, and that the file will force me to re-examine and organize later, but that later rarely comes. I've started trying to switch to pocket. There's a keyboard shortcut and you can add tags. Seems legit. Also I bookmark useful tools and sometimes type different combinations in the address bar until I find a bookmark match.

Why are you not doing the same think with bookmars, you can sort things out on folders and can export the bookmarks to use whenever you want.

i have over 5-6k bookmarks.most of them are pornhub/xvideos/xhamster and shit related stuff. i never save porn on my computer and never would as i just have to open a few bookmarks of my fave shit and get off

also easy to sort shit out from usefull places you visited and wanna go again. you cant be that braindead that you have to google everything everytime you wanna do something that you already found somewhere but never bookmarked it

>Sign up for $11 / year
Lol is this whole thread just shilling for whatever useless piece of shit this is?

Why do you think we did that?

I use bookmarks, but most of the time I forget that I have the bookmark to something specific and I spend 5 minutes looking for it before realizing.

This is evil

>pay for our service instead of using the one built into your browser
lol ok

My brothers. Im not sure why we do that. Just seemed to make sense to me when I started it. I still kinda want to go back to it. For some reason just bookmarking in the browser doesn't feel as good. Even organizing them within folders in the browser.

Yes, i do. I also have a huge html file with links to interesting github repos and articles

Use bookmarks

That's the most inane, retarded technology-related bullshit I've read on this site. Compared to you Tilefucker and the guy that's aroused by the geology of Ohio or whatever it was are well adjusted, normal people.

Bots fetching text based on a dictionary?

Only autists use the command line for absolutely everything.
Only retards rather do 1000 clicks instead of using one command.

Only a Chad uses a mix of both clicks, commands and hot keys for maximum time efficiency gains

Same, this is the patrician choice

Normies use mobile devices now and most common normie websites have their own apps.

>Boy, that typing sure is stupid when I can just click.
typing a url into the address bar is fine. typing the name of a website into google, then clicking the link is grandma tier. it's the worst of both worlds with the added bonus of feeding the botnet

yeah I do nigger, that's how I store my Jow Forums browser configs and links for all the other bullshit I use
stop trying to take features away because retarded normies forgot that they exist

I unironically never use bookmarks for myself at all. I remember the domains I visit, anything more specific than that is to be searched for as I won't remember where to find the bookmark any better.

Holy shit, are you me?

Fucked up my files by "refresh"-ing my laptop. All applications are uninstalled, but files are still here, kind of. Just reinstalled chrome. Is there any way to get back my previous bookmarks and history?

>Inb4, not your tech support

Pls...

I use bookmarks if it's something i might have a hard time finding again and don't need to visit for a while. Otherwise, if i accessed it in the past couple months, Firefox's address bar is really fucking good at fetching urls from your history with only a partial match of a few words or even letters.

Yes, I use them (: I have 9287 bookmarks!

Attached: Library.png (728x529, 104K)

>telling the botnet every site you visit

Attached: 1521325093228.png (553x278, 88K)

it doesnt matter how much designers refine the ui, general public, no matter the age is too retarded to grasp 2-click built-in bookmarking and folder structure beyond dumping tons of random shit on bookmarks bar's of their Chrome and installing 'Fast Youtube mp3 video download FREE' extensions from whoknowswhere.

i have tons, mostly web dev and graphic design resource related, somewhat categorized bookmarks. and i gather news and other shit using RSS from hundreds of different sources.

normie could not ever comprehend or express interest in what RSS or choice given by such tech is, unless there was some sort of financial initiative from whatever advertising company. instead of exploring, he needs his cia-facebook aggregated antih8speech mindcontrol with straighforward rules of what he can read or think. normie cant grasp what domain or URL is, normie doesnt need multiple points of reference, normie needs a single 'personalised' stream of shit handed to him. internet (www) is facebook / unicorns made by apple. this is why bookmarks are 'obselete'.

>Does anyone else still bookmark?
I do. No, you can't remove it from chrom* and sjew-fox

why are you all so unorganized?

DuckDuckGo it faggot

I do, but it's honestly faster to just type a single letter and google will know. If I want to have a very specific thing and be able to remember for a very long time without using it I'll bookmark.

I use bookmarks for pages I want to visit later, and then remove them when I've done so.

I put my commonly-visited websites on my home/newtab page.

I create bookmark html pages for the css and categorizability. I just the the standard bookmarkfile lynx creates and add the links with emacs

I rarely use bookmarks. I usually just refer back to my browser history.
Of course, browsers start forgetting history after a few months, but ZFS snapshots eliminate that problem.
I also copy over the history database whenever I change browsers/distros, and occasionally dump their contents into a large text file along with dedupilcated entries from the ZFS snapshots and grep that whenever I need something.

>never shutdown your device

>he turns off his computer
>he likes unused ram
WHat a normalfag

>he doesn't use a bookmark toolbar

Attached: dfh.png (975x37, 22K)

Wtf, I have around 50 bookmarks at any moment and around 20 of old forums and fb pages that are hardly alive but hold precious memories
I cant believe there are people that dont use bookmarks

WARNING: The owner of pinboard is a virulent ANTIFA/SJW polish communist. He's literally one of the most leftist commies in Silicon Valley.

Don't give money to fucking communists.

>still

There's no better solution.

>he doesn't still live in 1997

i use it for my rss feeds only

this is one reason i dont use bookmarks, mainly there's just no need for them anymore, i keep tabs i'm not done with open, and everything else can be recalled from history. modern browsers have realtime history search in their url bar, making it more convinient to use than manually-organised bookmarks

give me the sauce officer
