Never use any social media with personal information, only use it with fake information for required sites

>Never use any social media with personal information, only use it with fake information for required sites
>Have no presence on social media at all
>Apply for college internships for over the summer
>Hear back from one of them
>"Sorry, we couldn't find you social media or when we googled you. Is your name correct?"
>Email them that I don't use social media or anything
>"Sorry user, we just can't hire anyone we don't know much about :^)"
Never heard back from them ever again. I'm not even applying to places that require social media. Is it beta to not use social media?

the modern world really sucks man

Just put up a picture of you and your girlfriend and post pictures you take every 2-3 months. Also, get a LinkedIn. Not too hard.

It's not beta, it's just for most people social media are "so awesome lololol"
They just don't know.

normalfag detected

It’s beta to be concerned about being beta

I do have a LinkedIn profile, that is up to date.
>girlfriend
normalfags need to get out

Enjoy the neet life like the rest of us.

this is the only acceptable piece of advice

nice blog. how is this technology related again?

Email them back and ask if they glow in the dark.

Participating in social media = doxing yourself

If that's what the masses expect from me and everyone else then I'm out.

All the girls are boring bitches. All what they want is you money.
I dont have money. Fukyou

oh wow, fellow anime-nerds, this neet has a gf, and he said so, sistaz, that's right, an actual girl which is his, whomever that user is, ain't that something, Jow Forums?

They know that people who avoid social media are potential mass shooters or 'human' scum of the highest caliber, there's plenty of research on people who use the internet frequently but don't hang around in social media, turns out there's a high prevalence of criminals and other twisted sickos among their ranks.

If it's not wrong to profile and target blacks because of their high prevalence of criminals, ehy is it a bad thing to avoid sickos like you?

This is actually illegal in the US. They can determine age/race etc from social media and therefore cannot require it from you or base your employment on it.

Time to choose a different career. There are some careers that value knowing the value of information. Notably infosec.

In my country are full of cancer-feminism and politic who defends the criminals and insult the government. Girls of 16 talking of politic like a feminist of 11 years.

Im still alive for dont go to facebook. Im stay with my computer and whiskey

Good luck proving that in court and finding a lawyer willing to take your case though.

>comparing autists to niggers
bait

>he thinks girls want money
>when the "wage gap" has gone into reverse
Oh dear.

>t. Eurofags
It's not possible to be a NEET in most countries, unless you're rich or have an *actual* disability.

You don't even need a girlfriend, pay an escort to take some pictures kissing with you and use them for your profiles. And you get to fuck her once too.

Or go /out/
Or go to Jow Forums and then you go to Jow Forums and then to foxnews

True. There is literally no reason for Fb to exist aside from groups and chat (In which Facebook has advantage because of the retarded number of people that use it).

Also, nice pic user.

>>"Sorry user, we just can't hire anyone we don't know much about :^)"
Email back telling them that's what an interview is for

good thing my parents support my NEET lifestyle

I work as a security consultant for a large company and do a lot of freelance work as well. People act impressed like it's a fucking revelation when I tell them that I don't use social media and that they won't find me via google.

Nothing else they got of me. I assumed that op looks like me.

Happened to me when I joined an army, they did not believe me that I did not have any social media account (I really never) even though I worked in IT.

They were sure I lied and had stuff to hide.

>He doesn't watch late night tv

Let me guess, Argentina?

Not an Eurofag, I live with my parents.

by not having social media you're just being even more closely watched, retard

>tips tinfoil

I 5 years after the start of the First Twitter War you will be glad you didn't have it.

let's see that research cunt

I found out the hard way you have to have a linkedin after trying to get back to work after a sabbatical. 15 years of diverse experience, last role was world-class for highly prominent tech leader. Couldn't even get a single interview until I got a linkedin, then I got the first job I applied for.

When I started using USENET in 1990 the first piece of advice I was given was DONT PUT YOUR INFO ONLINE. Nearly 30 years later I am thankful I listened.
Call her a pleb and tell her she'll regret it one day

Remind them that the point of a resume and interview is to learn about the candidate.

Attached: .jpg (640x633, 41K)

You tell them you have Facebook but have locked down privacy settings so only friends can see your profile.

we need to ban white males from owning guns or driving cars, it makes me feel very unsafe as a trans

>Also, get a LinkedIn. Not too hard.
I don't agree with their privacy policy. Glorified social media. What are my options?

How to recognize companies not worth it

>linkedin privacy policy
Dude. You just give them your name, some info about past workplaces and certs. They don't require botnet software or something. What exactly do you not like?

It's literally a platform for networking with other people based on your profession. Of course its fucking social media. It's however the best option you'll have to prevent the employers throwing away your resume based on social media presence.

If they require you to have social media instead of a proper job interview, this place probably sucks anyway

Not him but I object for the same reason I object to Facebook. I don't want to be marketed to, have my browsing or other activities tracked, stored, and sold, etc.

1- Be yourself.
>Thank you for contacting me, [company x], but I have no facebook or graminsta or tweeterer or [x] or [y]
Pros:
-You will filter out the more superficial companies
-You feel more dignified

Cons:
-Most companies suck and are superficial and thus
-You will have less job opportunities

2- Make a fakebook. Put a couple of pictures, add a few friends, add some irrelevant sportsball hobbies
>Yes, here is my facebook.
Pros:
-More job opportunities
-No issues with Mr. Chad Normie or Ms. Stacey Normina who freak out at the thought of not having 58 social site memberships

Cons:
-Have to actually make a fakebook

Myself, I went with #2, as it was a literal job requirement when I went for my first job. These days, I make about one post per 6 months, usually "Salam to all, happy Ramadan". You can be a better person than me and insist on your ideals. Or you can opt to have an easier time putting food on the table. Both paths are fine, IMHO. Depends on what you value more.

In some companies it's actually a SAFETY REQUIREMENT that employees have social media accounts. It makes social engineering attacks more difficult.

>some argue
Gonna need that source on those brainfarts of yours faggot

you are joking right? Linkedin has what information you give them. It is a fucking public CV. They don't really have means of tracking you (unless you use their app. Which you don't need to). Linkedin is not comparable to facebook.

>literal wagecuck

Just make a dummy account.

>girlfriend

Attached: 2dd.jpg (600x600, 37K)

Would it not be other way around?

My girlfriend is too based and doesn't want to have pictures of herself or me on social media

No, they do the same kinds of underhanded shit. They're an ad company, all social-media companies are.

computerworld.com/article/3191984/social-media/use-linkedin-a-lot-read-its-new-privacy-policy-carefully.html

Strange. In my country institutions and employers prefer people with as little social media presence as possible.

>lets make social engineering more difficult by forcing everyone to use social media
Sometimes i really like being unemployed, too bad you cant get neetbux here.

what's your flag? I want to move there

you mean a fleshbag with roast curtains hiding her life/decay portal?

for fucks sake user, man up
>make a dummy account
>post some retarded pictures of fucking trees or cats or whatever
>hire/borrow girl and make some pictures with her so you can show your "gf"
>post some pictures of your "recent" activities like i dunno, drinking pi- i mean beer or whatever
i mean look at the accounts of "normies" just make a good fake account and you are done

Oh boy, I wonder what will they say when they found my >50 different fb accounts with the same name and totally different content.

Jow Forumsthathappened

every mutt can become european these days

they need more money a week to maintain their face and all their cracks than I need to buy food. and that's nothing if you think of the hedonist life style most of them have

>sabbatical
name country

>Sorry, we couldn't find you social media or when we googled you. Is your name correct?
I can almost guarantee that this never happened.
Make a LinkedIn or something, only add people you know. That's what I do.
I know it's botnet, but LinkedIn is pretty helpful.

well no
If you work in a company and don't have a social media account, anybody can impersonate you and then abuse the trust colleagues could have for you and slip you "Funny cats.pptx.exe" for example

As I fucking said - you don't fucking need their app. Can't you read? If you don't use their app (which you do not need) it becomes simple online cv.

Search for a job? Get involved and recommended by people. Show off your skills by contributing to free software projects. No need for normie cuckolding.

Back you go.

>Show off your skills by contributing to free software projects
you mean composing code of conduct?

I don't know a single company that requires social media. What country are you from OP? I need to be sure to avoid it.

>applying.for internship
See that's where you got had
I got my uni prof who I did my paper with to pretty much arrange an internship for me, it was easy as that
I got a letter of recommendation from him too and now work as research assistant in a uni in the US (im yuropoor)

I dont understand this meme, I've never had social media and it's never been an issue

I don't either. I got interviews and eventually a job after graduating a year ago just fine despite having no online presence.

>more information about you online
>makes SE harder

Are you retarded?

jej you've clearly haven't tried to find work in the past six months, between trump and cambridge analytica FB and social media is now considered baggage by executives who don't want to manage it or deal with the potential ethics concerns they have no control over

Attached: spin.gif (512x481, 646K)

however, there is also a lot of stuff about their web tracking in But that also is easily fixed. Just use a designated shitting… err… socializing stree… browser for linkedin (also applies for facebook, which, lets face it, has some good features) and tracking blocking on your main broser to boot and thei're none the wiser.

sure, unlike the bullshit claimed in having all your info online does make social engineering a tad easier, but unless you are some VIP, it's unlikely that you will suffer any damage stemming from your linkedin (or researchgate, if you are in academia) profile. I'd say the tradeoff is worth it.

is it germany

Daaamn. Sos un boludo muy canchero.
Jahaha. Ahora, dame la mochila, you faggot

>girl of 16 talking politics like a feminist of 11 years
Because they are feminists of 11 years. They’re raised to be activists, not intellectuals

Could it be construed that if the company intrudes into the personal life of the employee, then there seizes to be a segregation between personal vs vicarious liability? I.e. the company could be held liable for any statement made by the employee?

Its called freedom you commie, no one is forcing you to work in those companies

What if my pics get circa 2 likes? Isn't that an even bigger red flag for these normie companies?

tard

make a youtube profile that shows up on search engines

it will prove to normies that you exist (i can't believe it's come to this), and the channels you subscribe to can give someone an idea of your interests

>Just put up a picture of you and your girlfriend
