Why even ever leave Windows?

Why even ever leave Windows?

Intelligence. Something you wouldn't know anything about, Pajeet.

VM works better than WSL

So what's the difference between using this method compared to installing ubuntu through a live USB?

Virtualization has overhead, it's more efficient to run GNU/Linux natively if you do some intensive computing on it. From a security point of view, you're Windows with it's all vulnerabilities and risk of malware if you didn't install common sense antivirus. Running Linux on Windows may be a good way to learn about using Linux.

whatever gets you using linux.

Eventually you will ptobably find that it is a pain to run a sensible os inside a non-sensible one, andjust install it as your main.

>Virtualization has overhead

Yeah, like 0.001%

This is very essential However, there are pragmatic pros as well.

Because I'd still have to use Windows

It'd be really great if virtualization had such a small overhead, unfortunatelly it's bigger than that.

>doesn't even contain linux
>tfw they STILL call it linux

Because WSL is a little more than another terminal emulator, not a fully functional desktop environment. Don't forget that everything is run under Windows - it defeats the purpose right there.

because you can install linux on bare metal and turn it into a type 1 hypervisor, then you can run windows on it to get near native performance, while getting a functional OS,unlike other type 1
hypervisors(in theory)

No osx and if you're booting kali from windows you deserve to get fucked

>intensive computing on it.
nobody does any intensive computing from their home desktop
>security
Did you miss the snap store drama? LOL

that's only GNU. not linux. while it's infinitely better than winshit environment is, you still lack a lot of power.
cron, unison, rsync, etc are all much better than anything windows will ever have

Windows is already the best. We don't need those shitty linux emulators

>No osx
lol why would you even want that?

you fucking faggots its not virtualization its much more effective than that.its in the fucking name windows subsystem for linux.its actually just translating linux syscalls into windows syscalls.

I don't want MS logging everything I type for some pajeet to read.

This, just unironically

Because the writing is on the walls, Microsoft has quietly admitted defeat and it's a well known fact that Windows code has become an unmanageable, unsustainable, mess. You'll see Microsoft/Linux before you die, mark these words.

This is for noobs that are too afraid of using boot discs and messing up their computer.
