They didn't, that was SG-1's primary, but there are several episodes where they have MP5's, a few where they have M16's, and a few where they have m249's, a couple of times they're rocking benelli's as well.

Also another thing to note, the P90 uses the 5.7x28mm round which is great at armor penetration while still being small (which is how the P90 has a 50 round mag), so when you're going against an armored jaffa, you want something that is going to penetrate the armor, when you're carrying everything with you, you want a light weight weapon, with light weight ammo.

The P90 has armor pen, mobility, and you can carry a fuck ton more 5.7x28mm than you can 5.56x45mm that a normal standard issue rifle would fire.
