Are you a programmer by profession

Just trying to see if there's a correlation

I don't even know which end of the guitar to blow into.

Not anymore but 10 years ago I could. Currently trying to relearn muzak.

Yes and I remember G and D, I could only take a guess at A

are you trying to prove that math minds are better musicians?

Yes

Yes I am a programmer. No, I can't play anything on a guitar. I don't listen to any music, and just don't understand how people can have it playing all day in the background. I have tried listening to pretty much every genre, and it is all just obnoxious noise that doesn't serve any useful purpose. It is just absurd how much time, effort, and money get wasted on music. And don't get me started on concerts.

Yes and I'm pretty sure there is a real strong correlation. 9 out of 10 if I meet a NEET looking programmer, he also plays guitar. Funnily enough, the tech bros not so much.

No, I have no musical ability whatsoever.

Yes and yes

>are you a programmer
Yes, junior doing c++ and c# stuff
>can you play the guitar
Yes. I don't like strumming though, I play it like it was intended to be played

playing an instrument makes you either a loser or a poser

Yes and no
I have no understanding of music and cant play any instruments.

>are you a programmer by profession
Yes.
>if i gave you a guitar right now would you be able to play A, G, and D chords on it?
Probably, but not in that order and not excluding all the other things that would occur while I systematically manipulated every string, lever, and knob until the desired result was acheived.

You realize you can do it just for fun, right? You don't even need an audience, it's kind of like meditating

yes
probably, not 100% sure

I followed my dad's steps, went to singing, piano and guitar lessons.

Nowadays I just play when I'm home alone, whenever I feel like it and its great in a way, being able to string together a couple of tunes is so much simpler and yet so much more rewarding to the soul than programming IMO.

this man gets it

Its not really fun, and it hurts my fingers

Nothing better than guitar exercises to avoid wrist damage from using the computer for ungodly amounts of time

No and yes. Although I'm still terrible at guitar.

I play perfect fifths tuning, so your guitar probably wouldn't work for me.

Other than that I mainly play bass and synthesizer

Consider joining the gym and doing some actual non meme exercises.

Yes
Yes

the gym doesn't get you good at fingering homo

Student right now so no
Nope, I can play it on the piano tho if that counts for anything

yes and depends what you mean. I tune my guitar in perfect fourths intervals, so I would play different A, G, and D chords than the ones you are probably thinking of

>>if i gave you a guitar right now would you be able to play A, G, and D chords on it?

I'm sure I can after reading its documentation.

On an average guitar there's this many possible note combinations . Would take almost 4 years if you do one per second.

I could probably figure out a sweet riff if you give me enough time :^)

>increases iq
lol found the genetic brainlet

i am (more or less webdev-pajeet tho), but those basic chords are the only ones i recognize and the A string is missing on my guitar i haven't touched in more than 5 years

Yes
No, but I can restore a car you retarded faggot

Yes.
No, chords are boring. Scales ftw.

But note combinations are not chords.
You can't make a chord with your fingers on the 1st, 13, 18 and 23rd fret.
You need to be able to hold them with one hand.

outed yourself as a liar

yes
no

>You need to be able to hold them with one hand.
That's not what a chord is m8. Then chords would differ based on hand size, which is absurd.

no
no

Not at all

>are you a programmer by profession
No, the closest I come to that is editing .xml and baby level python
>if i gave you a guitar right now would you be able to play A, G, and D chords on it?
G for sure, A maybe, I can only remember Dsus4 though, not D.

Sounds like the type to re-make Temple OS.

Kind of.
Kind of. I don’t know much about music but I know the tone and semitones for the major scale so I could figure the chords out if you give me 5 minutes and you tell me the tuning of the guitar.

>I don’t know much about music but I know the tone and semitones for the major scale so I could figure the chords out if you give me 5 minutes and you tell me the tuning of the guitar.

Most of the professional performers I know would stare at you blankly if you said that, they all learned music theory 10+ years ago and barely remember the wheel of fifths.

Why do you even know that?

It's been a while but probably.

Guitar presets are always the worst sounding presets on any keyboard

I could play an e chord and given a few minutes id figure out the others

Studied in a conservatory learning piano and singing for two years when I was a kid. I still remember a bit of the theory.

>learn how to greentext

You will understand when you're older

I got two undergrad degrees, one in Music and the other in CS. So yes to both.

'nuff said

wow you sound like a cool stoic who is monomaniacally focused on his rigorous intellectual work all day long.

if this company that offered me a job actually hires me
yes

I'm a programmer by profession, currently unemployed (NEET) and i can play A, G, D chords on guitar. Guess im a statistic.

Yes, I play guitar, french horn, trumpet, flute, clarinet and piano

No
No

n should go to the 3, chords are built by at least three notes.

They are chords even the 'wrong' combinations. It just depends on the music standards and unfollowing them. You don't need to hold them with one hand.

no and yes.

No, I'm a pharmacist.
No.

yes

I'm a computer scientist by profession, and sometimes my job involves programming.

Yes I can play basic major and minor chords on a guitar.

Yes as a hobby - dentist by trade
I play mouth organ
