This thread is about the appreciation of watches, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.

It has special ECO DRIVE TECHNOLOGY. That means the light shining from my heart, triggered by the sentimental value of babby's first watch can keep it powered! Certainly special.
not the guy you're replying to but is american express a good credit card company? what sets them apart from others?
i got my first credit card (visa) about a year ago from my bank, and have a pretty good score right now. if i'm looking to get a second card to have another line of credit, should i try applying for an american express?

She's so fucking cute, you guys think Ben has sexed her?
Yes, they have great benefits, especially the Platinum for travel. You get a personal conciege that can handle your travel plans and get you VIP tickets to events, free upgrades at hotels, good rewards points and you always talk to a professional, English speaking customer service representative.
These are charge cards so you have to pay the balance in full each month, which is good in my opinion. I just think of it as a debit card with purchase protection and rewards plus more. I would recommend them over any other credit card bank.

:( It's the best movement of all the Speedmaster Reduced at least.
Some micro brand affordable luxury with a regular ETA dropped into it and with no ISO water resistance marks on it. Preferably a diver but any watch will do. 40+mm ideally.

It has potential, but shouldn't a forced watch be cheap shitter?
I actually tried to bid on some of the watches but the online bidding broke for me.

Which ones? I'm surprised by the Elvis watch 2bh. But the other big sellers are about where I had expected.
Jackson Cruz
A couple of De Bethune's and some vintage Vacheron's.

The Elvis watch was likely inflated by Elvis collectors rather than the watch collectors.

I wish I had money because I would have paid anything for the unique steel Lange.
Ethan Roberts
I feel like there are better examples of ALS you could get for less or the same amount. And I don't think I would use a steel Lange any differently to a precious metal one so any as well go for precious metal.

Buying that watch meant you also had first option on the #1 number of each of the other limited edition precious metal versions.
The point of steel is that it's incredibly rare to Lange to use it. They've probably only made a single digit amount of steel watches. It's the same reason steel Pateks are almost always more expensive than the usual versions because of the rarity.
Ethan Martin
I get why it was so expensive and understand it completely. All I was saying is that for me I would prefer a precious metal one and a different model if I had the money and was in the market for an ALS. That is a lot of ifs ands or buts though.
