Group presentation day

>group presentation day
>using my thinkpad T420 for slides and documents
>have Arch on it
>6 minutes getting xrandr to connect to school projector
>group members have hard time using trackpoint(trackpad disabled from bios)
>5 points docked for unpreparedness
>group members probably fucking hate me
>been skipping lectures for 2 weeks since
>too afraid to see their faces

Low quality bait or you're seriously autistic

Their fault that they were autistic enough to trust an autist.

Why would you disable the trackpad?

>hands brush trackpad while typing
>hands click shit all over the place while brushing trackpad
Why would you /not/?

This doesn't excuse the autism of arch or thinkpads but who doesn't put that shit on like 5 different usbs and emails copies to themselves? I always use the computer that is supplied so gay shit can never be blamed on ,e.

Because it's nothing but a hindrance if you only use the trackpoint.

why not just disable it in the os instead of bios?

Saves time if settings get fucked somehow.

This.
I love my nipple.

What program were you using for the documents and presentation?

>disabling the trackpad in the bios instead of conditionally disabling it if a keystroke has been made in the last N milliseconds

OP
I know this feel, literally
You're not alone.
atleast now you know how to do it.
Skipping school isn't the answer but I did the same (not for the same reasons though, but other stupid reasons nontheless)
That's the disadvantage of Arch, too minimal for normies to understand and sympathize. Use Manjaro for a more norman friendly experience.

>presentation day
>use my thinkpad
>everything just werks because i didn't fell for the ganoo/shit freetard meme
>no issues whatsoever

Lawyer here. We make our living with presentations. We don’t fuck around with bs Linux laptops or windows. We try serious cases using Macs and iPads. Industry standard.

But you lose time if you need to enable the track pad temporarily, a situation which is bound to happen much more often.

>enable the track pad temporarily
Jesus Christ how horrifying

Wow, I’m glad that you alone speak for all lawyers in the entire world! Oh wait you don’t...

That's exactly what OP needed to do during class. Stop making such poor excuses for your autism.

>public speaking presentation
> presentation and speaking keynotes on x220 with Fedora
>plug laptop into projector
>instantly detects the projector and correct display resolution
>Fn-F7 to switch external display on
>Open presentation in Google docs
>Bluetooth presentation remote just works as well
Don't fall for the meme sauce next time

Maybe his group members shouldn't have been too brainlet to use the trackpoint.

Silly macfag, go chase an ambulence you shyster.

> >6 minutes getting xrandr to connect to school projector
wtf user, it just werks on my arch machine
even if i need xrandr (mostly don't, but i do if EDID is not readable for some reason), it will take less than a single minute
> >group members have hard time using trackpoint(trackpad disabled from bios)
>normies can't use something that is not a mouse or trackpad
wew, why should it even be your problem

Because it's not true
From the first presentations you ever do in school you're always drilled to make sure you have a backup plan

I've literally never ever had to do this

>falling for the thinkpad meme

>group presentation day
>using my thinkpad T420 for slides
>have Windows 7 on it
>plug VGA connector into socket and the display is instantly extended
>group member plugs flash drive in and opens slides in powerpoint
>presses F5 and uses space bar to advance slides
>ace the presentation and the class
