The AK47 of watches edition.

This thread is about the appreciation of watches, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.

Fuck you and your memes with archie and watch&gun comparisons.

Rakesh here.

Still whiter than all of you.

kys cuck

>I would recommend one of the 7C46 tunas
This.
The 7C46 is found only in the Tunas, has a metal construction with 7 jewels, high torque, dual rate limiters, can be serviced, and it also fills up the entire case.
Add the bomb-proof external construction with literal armored shroud, and you get the watch equivalent of an AK47.

For how much do you think I should sell this for? I can't find any other for sale.

Good morning wt.

something is afoot here

>Ak-47 meme
Opinion discarded.

How can a watch be functionally obsolete, assuming it works?

Muzzle loaders still "work" too, but you wouldn't want to be faced with a guy with an assault rifle.

Attached: guns_watches_2__01.png (1122x1186, 680K)

Once again the watch:gun analogy fails.
Watches aren’t against anything.

Abstract thought too much for you?

Attached: 1399562671973.jpg (500x437, 42K)

The retarded thought is too much for me yes.

How about this: "muzzle loaders still work, but assault rifles work better"?

You're missing a crucial difference.

What's that?

Let me guess, "watches don't shoot bullets"?

I just found this on Ebay. Looks like the slavshit version of that automatic Hamilton that one user has.

This one looks like crap though, I just wanted to show that these exist.

Attached: vostok_semi_round.jpg (1600x1200, 196K)

Fuck off with your shitty forced meme.

The other anons hamilton is a homage to this.

>and you get the watch equivalent of an AK-47
No.

Except yes.

You mean knockoff.

Anyone else hate when watch brands include fancy boxes in the price of the watch?

Why not put the watch in a simple plastic box and make the fucking thing cheaper?

Attached: 2mw8rjs.jpg (1240x1418, 273K)

I need a watch, thinking of a cheap CASIO F-91W. Any reason to go for a more expensive one?

Attached: IMG_5178[1].jpg (2000x1333, 117K)

Good day wt

Attached: IMG_20180514_131341.jpg (4160x3120, 3.25M)

Yes, thats what I meant, just wanted to be polite.

Backlight, for one.
Bocтoк boxes are nice and compact.

Attached: IMG_20180508_170248.jpg (1920x2560, 1.28M)

I don't mind plastic or cardboard boxes. It's the fancy ones that shit me off when they're included in the price.
Just give me the watch in a cheap box and then let me decide if I want to pay extra for a fancy one or not.

Really? You reckon that much? More than I expected.

Nice Boktok, user. The black date wheel is a nice touch.

What do you recommend? I don't need a lot of superfluous features and I don't dive, just want a reliable watch that isn't too expensive like what a Leatherman is to multitools. First time I'm posting on Jow Forums.

(You)

>t.I don't know guns, I probably barely know watches

Ask your answers, and we'll see.
You probably won't though.

You want a digital Casio? If small, get a f105w or other illuminator branded one, the backlight on those is a lot better than f91w. a168w for bracelet version. If you want some extra features and ruggedness but don't mind bigger size, cheek out basic g-shocks.
Thanks, user.
>ask your answers
Stop making a joke out of yourself. This shitty meme won't pick up no matter how hard you shill it.

>Stop making a joke out of yourself.
Like I said, you probably won't.

I'm not him, retard.

Your order has been updated to the following status:
Shipped

Well gj getting mad then.

Ordered my watch, thanks.

Attached: 155122.jpg (729x947, 83K)

What did you order, user?

Just making a wild guess. Whst did you pay for it originally and how old?

thats strap guide aint working bro

ABSOLUTE MADMAN

Same thing in the previous thread. Not sure what happened or when.

I would actually be interested. Post more pictures please.

All the pastebins were deleted a few weeks ago. The other two were updated and reuploaded but presumably whoever created the strap pastebin is no longer here to do so. It should really be dropped from the op.

Seems like, we should rewrite/update the pastebins.

JDM only model

Two of them have been though edits and additions are welcome. For the strap paste, please go ahead, feel free.

Any ideas on how much you want for it yet ? /wt/ discount included.

The case can withstand abuse. The strap can't. A W-800H can handle more beatings overall and it's got bigger numbers, costs just a little more.

No idea, still not sure if I want to sell it, I barely ever wear it but I still kind of like it.

Maybe somewhere around $300

Attached: 20170926_133016.jpg (5312x2988, 1.9M)

Yes. The w217h is better in every way.

Attached: LRM_EXPORT_20180501_155105.jpg (2588x2588, 2.92M)

Do you have the box and papers ?
Are you in the eu ?

The w86 is even better than that

Attached: IMG_20180514_092242.jpg (3456x4608, 3.85M)

Cheapest sub38mm dress watch?

>MN91/30
>obsolete
You're not a very Jow Forums educated man.

>bolt action infantry rifle
>not obsolete

Incorrect. The electroluminescent backlight on the w86 gives it worse contrast than the w217h, and it doesn't have the superior type of resin strap or the springbars the w217h has either.

Everyone here seems to like the really inexpensive casios but imo it's better to spend a bit more and go for a square g-shock.
The 5600 is $50-$100 depending on the version
and the 5610 is around $150
Still very affordable and will last forever, there are also strap mod's but depending on which one you choose you might not even need to worry about the strap, the whole watch will probably survive a lifetime.

Sup brother

Attached: 0511181150-3142x4189.jpg (3142x4189, 1.23M)

May I not own more that one casio ? Also planning on buying an f-14 and a royale.

Attached: 20180426_233116~2.jpg (4187x3408, 2.14M)

Get as many Casios as you like. Pic related is my digital collection. I've added a green map version of the AE1200 since this too.

Attached: 20180314_234822.jpg (1564x825, 767K)

I got a f91w on its way to me now.

>May I not own more that one casio ? Also planning on buying an f-14 and a royale.
wat

You were my idol, when I got into casios. I am thinking of you as a brother. It's all thanks to you I became the man, I am now.

Also, the green map is the only version my favourite store has so, I'll buy that, too.

Attached: IMG_20180306_152915.jpg (2240x3968, 728K)

Why would you buy the same watch over and over again and then collect them?

Attached: 1522796180040.gif (1000x773, 328K)

Just came in mail.

Attached: 20180514_110846.jpg (1355x1163, 1.11M)

You're an idiot.
Please tell us how the M91/30 isn't obsolete.

Is the Seiko SARB035 a meme or is it actually good?

>implying it’s any less lethal because it’s wood and bolt action

>tfw I’d own a nice Rolex datejust or Explorer if I didn’t spend my spare money on hookers over the last three years.
I need help /wt/, is anyone here dealing with some addiction?

Attached: 35A30EA5-2237-4C4C-A570-74667C132D12.jpg (225x225, 16K)

So you just don't know what obsolete even means.
Jesus christ.

>/wt/, is anyone here dealing with some addiction?
Yes, watches

do people still use mosins for combat? If they do, can they still kill? if those answers are yes, then it's not obsolete. It's very old technology that is still used today in modern day bolt actions.

Attached: 54585024948__2C2B59C8-6774-42B5-92C7-C674F83FB34C.jpg (3024x4032, 2.42M)

If you can't afford a rolex by simply saving up some spare-money in a course of a few month's salary, then I think perhaps you're aiming too high. I would consider some of the great watches in a lower price range. Frederique Constant perhaps? I don't know your taste, but sounds to me that you could've spent your savings on something more important, if you're not too well off.

"I have no idea what obsolete means", the post.

There are people in the world who still use rocks tied to sticks in combat. They are obsolete though

It is absolutely not a meme. It has a great reputation, and is by many considered the very best (automatic) watch under $400

here is the definition: no longer produced or used; out of date. Please take note of the "or" between produced OR used.

>it's not obsolete because some Afghan goat herder still "uses" his Mosin Nagant

you guys can argue semantics all day, 91/30's are old rifles and there are a lot better rifles out today. But the same technology is being used for the newest bolts coming out in to the market. Bolts also have their place in the firearm world that semi autos can't fill. But this isn't Jow Forums and I don't expect anyone from Jow Forums to have any clue about firearms.
