Backups are copies to drives that aren't mounted.

Fucking retarded botnet shills.

Backups are redundant data stored wherever.

on your own satellite

Archival grade DVD / Bluray disc (HTL)

1. Nico is trash
2. Symmetric encryption (128 bit key minimum) and then upload the blob onto some blockchain

zip archive with strong pass and you're good.
The only sane answer is redundant self-hosting. OP is too brainlet for that so drive is the best answer.

>You should spend $100 a year for backups!

cp important.file /important/things/

Self-host and fuck off then.

if you need to backup more than 50gb of files then you should be doing it by yourself and not using services others provide like said.

3 - 2 - 1: three copies of your data, two different mediums, one of them offsite.

- Create two ZFS pools, one on your network w/ some redundant vdevs, one on removable media (redundancy optional.)

- Set up a scheduled job to rsync/robocopy files to the network attached pool. (Use zfs send if the original copy is, itself, on a ZFS pool.)

- Once monthly attach the removable ZFS pool and do an incremental send/recv to it. Then do a scrub to check the integrity of the removable media.

When you're done scrubbing the removable media take it to your bank and have it stored in a safety deposit box. Use ZFS' built-in encryption on the removable copy so you don't get v&.

t-this can't be happening!

>take it to your bank and have it stored in a safety deposit box
sounds like super secret data
most of my data are porn and hentai

self-hosting imply this.

Manual drag and drop to an external, offline, HDD.

just use lowest speed

spread it around
a little here
a little there

Porn and hentai IS super secret data depending on what kind you're watching / reading / listening to.
