Linux is stuck in the past, the communities are still dealing with what to use and what standard to support, meanwhile Windows is improving every 6 months with nice features. I can't wait for Explorer dark mode and global tabs.
Did the gaming mode not work before? What's the difference now? I turned off all updates because they kept breaking shit, the final straw was when an update broke my bluetooth and left me without a keyboard.
Leo Turner
The main reason I dislike Windows is the degradation and eventual file corruption over time that they still have not fixed, the bloat, the lack of real control over the newer versions, and the inability to remove certain things.
I still use it, because I really don't want to take the time to move over to something else and deal with the stress of getting it running the way I want. But I still dislike it.
That said, there's no reason to really dislike the evolution that is happening. We see these things in a lot of sci-fi films and shows and consider them amazing, but when they actually start to happen we freak out. Why not just embrace it?
Evan Anderson
>We see these things in a lot of sci-fi films and shows and consider them amazing, but when they actually start to happen we freak out. Like what? I hope you're not talking about Cortana, it's actually pretty worthless
>Microsoft Edge is super lightwheight and has the smoothest scrolling I know you're baiting, but being a Win10fag I still can't say Edge is any good. There's no reason to use it over the modern Opera as it is slower, uses more resources and battery, worse at supporting the web standards.
God, I wish Cortana would've been useful. So far I only use her to set up timers and alarms.
Leo Martinez
>no reason to use it over modern Opera The Chinese merchants are a third party instead of the provider.
Christopher Allen
Dude, besides Edge, Opera is my browser to go, but any Blink-based browser will show you a higher CPU usage when playing videos and a far worse scrolling on heavy javascript pages.
Edge has a lot of flaws and the lack of nice extensions hurts it more, but just try it for yourself and see how Edge scrolls at 60fps pon practically every page.

Post your face when Edge shills are so desperate that they are actually trying to use scrolling behaviour to sell their fucking browser. Then note the recommendation to use another fringe browser with equally questionable reputation.
Samuel Martinez
>keeps track of all your activities >onedrive >connect all your services to cortana >sync all your favorites and settings on the Microsoft cloud
Its all a big fucking data-mining botnet. Dont buy into this crap and block all this shit or use the LTSB
Adam Bennett
How do you even get LTSB? I've looked around on DDG, but I haven't been able to find anything telling me.
Sebastian Hughes
I encountered a major bug
UAC does not work anymore and it always reverts to the second lowest tier despite many restarts and doing the good old registry edit trick
Xavier Diaz
You gotta torrent it and use something like Microsoft Toolkit to crack it. As for blocking the spyware crap use the hosts file. Reddit has an entire sub dedicated to this. Its at r/Piracy
Jayden Reed
thanks friends
Benjamin Gutierrez
Do you see bobs or vagene?
Grayson Diaz
i like it desu
i dont use cortana though, might try it again at some point
Thanks user, this shit ended up fucking me over by everytime in log in, it asked for a pin with no option of saying no and reset cortana and enabled her back. Thank God for the revert build setting
Luke Smith
I can't tell what's bait at this point.
John Rogers
>Is there a more comfy OS? Windows 7, windows XP, any distribution of Linux and hell, maybe even MacOS.
Jayden Martinez
Edge's scrolling works no different than that of Chrome. I would've considered that an achievement if it was something aking to Safari on Mac when 99% of browser's performance is dedicated toward smooth zooming and scrolling, but currently if there's any difference - it's marginal at best. Not to mention, if Edge gets it - every other browser will get it to, given they share the rendering engine.
I've unironically tried using Edge - Microsoft claimed it was fast and battery efficient which are two of the three important side browser qualities to me (the third being the resource consumption). Due to working in Android Studio on a 8Gb RAM laptop, I've run into issues with using Chrome during development as it's just too resource-hungry. I've tried Edge, Firefox, and Opera. Out of these, only Opera offered the solution to the previously mentioned issues while keeping an adequate level of performance. Edge offered neither and it's also shit as an actual browser. I still use Chrome as my main browser, but I use Opera when I'm working. Mozzila is also shit, but its debugger has a couple neat features so I kept it anyway. Not to mention, I still should test shit on a popular browser when I'm doing webdev.
Did you stop and think that maybe the reason updates are breaking your system is because you’re disabling services?
Matthew Kelly
>you can turn off most of those things Thank god.
Also, >smooth scrolling >good >ever I leave websites that implement smooth scrolling in their code. It is literally cancer for anything but touch screens I guess.
Edge is basically the only browser usable with a touch screen for me.
It's hardware acceleration is much better than Chrome, either for videos or browser games.
Mason Hall
Nearly everyone in my (reallife) surroundings complains about w10. The few times i've tinkered with it, it was a shitty and inconsistent experience. How much money does MS invest monthly for paying this army of shills? Also install gentoo!
So you're battling the "botnet" by installing cracks from some shady third world created that is harvesting your data?
Austin Sullivan
those are drills you dumb, blind motherfucker
Jackson Anderson
>hurr durr shady cracks with viruses If you weren't a retard then you would know that source code of KMS server emulator is available on the internet and you can even compile it yourself, Microsoft Toolkit is just win32 gui software using that method
>>You can store all your files on Onedrive so you are more than safe against ransomware Nice, can I get 10TB of storage on Onedrive for my backups for free ?
Blake Rogers
Half the shit you listed requires Cortana (or some other kind of internet integration), and that can't fly on my device, so no thanks. I mean, I wish it was just tinfoil hat issues, but my laptop also gets TRASH battery life when the CPU has to be at 60 degrees when idling because of all this Windows horseshit. If anything, I am getting less impressed with Windows over time. I might try Qubes OS soon.
Have fun when Microsoft tells the authorities about your loli folder, weebs.
Eli Reed
>60 degrees >when idling Have you considered that it may not be idling? Or perhaps cleaning your laptop?
Jonathan Mitchell
this plus there are openly posted ms keys on google that actually works lol
Angel Butler
Nah, I flick open task manager and check this shit sometimes. It's either Security Essentials (which you can't schedule scans for, it does it whenever the fuck it feels like) or currently trying to install modules (I guess that's something related to those metro apps). Since there's no easily accessible way to turn this shit off, Microsoft might literally be pushing me to another operating system soon.

my dekstop are fine though, already running troubleshooter windows update but no luck. Are there offline installer i can download? already check on microsoft update catalog but only 1709 available

ok i take the bait
Kevin Adams
dont worry, you don't have to use it, cortana uses you all the time anyway
Aiden Nguyen
For what?
Jaxson Ross
Yeah and I bet you got the source code for LTSB windows that shows the backdoors gone. Get with me when you grow a brain.
Brandon Moore
Hello MSDF, I disabled nothing except updates because they kept breaking things. I don't know why you assume things to rush to the defense of your shit OS, but it is what it is.

but i do agree, linucks is for cuckfaggots... so why haven't you installed it yet OP?
Hudson Parker
>the OS that enables hackers and three letter agencies the ultra easy means to steal peoples entire lives and literally enslave them There is literally no way telemetry and sync data to the Microsoft cloud can help hackers and thieves to identity theft. Actually, these kind of features help to avoid hacking by syncing data through secure ways, keeping backups in case of data loss, avoiding typing passwords more than once and being able to close your session using your Microsoft account.
>go away child this site is 18+ Step it up, gramps. You look like a fucking idtiot using emotes ;-)

That's not how it works, Onedrive will update the good files with the encrypted files. Unless you have a rollback option I'm unaware

No, he is actually right, the source code for the KMS activator is available in github. Can be used to activate any Windows. There are GUIs for it on the internet. Hell there is even a GUI in github, u moron.
