First for 75%

Reminder cherry and its clones are garbage

65% confirmed for best layout

Fell for the 60% meme. Ordered a DZ60 and some basic hardware to go with it. I fully expect this to be a waste of $120, but we'll see.

I hope lagsperg continues to grace us with his presence

Reminder that razer keyboards are objectively better than """""low-latency""""" autismboards.

Employed 40% owner here

Does anyone here actually type "correctly"? I'm trying to do it right now and it's really fucking difficult.

what do you mean? just keep your fingers on the homerow and after some practice it you'll get used to it. there are several places online that can help you learn. keybr is a common one

Yea, use an online tutorial which shows the correct finger placement ad you type, then feel free to slightly alter it to suit you. Within 5-10 hours of proper practice you should be at a point where you can begin to properly type, even quite slowly, and you can build up your speed through normal usage.

Also once you learn to properly touch type you might find boards like 60% layouts very beneficial. They seem illogical to people who hunt and peck but when you can type properly they are excellent.

I'm not talking about touch typing. I've been touch typing for years. I'm talking about using the "correct" fingers for each key and all that shit.

Just last month I was averaging 40 wpm with a peak of about 48. Now I average like 45 and finally broke 51. Just continue practicing at the various sites and you will get it. I found out that the more I thought about placement the slower I would go so you just have to have muscle memory and instinct guide you.

if youre not using all your fingers then youre not touch typing

You slow

I know. The point is I'm inproving.

Who said anything about not using all you fingers?

My middle finger on my right hand is bent like 30 degrees from the middle joint. Is there a way for me to learn traditional typing?

No job and I ain't lookin mother fucker

How is it that a rubber dome is better then anything cherry has made in the past 50 years?

Attached: naked topres.webm (500x281, 180K)

What's the make and model of that one?

Rubber isn't inherently a bad thing, just that it's associated with terribly cheap membrane boards. Cherry uses plastic on plastic sliding past each other and with a spring, not the most pleasant feeling

Nice boards. Leopold boards just look so good stock.

I always hear people circle jerking about the Model M keyboards and I saw that Unicomp are making modern revamps, anybody used one / are they worth looking at?

looks like one of those chink whitefox clones

They are the same thing since Unicomp bought the tooling from lexmark. Qaulity of the case, keycaps, and plate are worse but key feel is the same.

Unicomp keyboards are literally just Model Ms, so they fell exactly the same.

They use less plastics in the case so they won't feel as nice, but the switches feel is the same, which is what really matters

when unicomp makes a true 87 key model m ssk, i'll gib dem my moneyz

They had to give the tooling back to lexmark, but there are unicomp SSK floating around that sell for less then the originals

Nice amp user!

Attached: XeSEOuw.jpg (398x500, 33K)

I feel like an idiot for wasting thousands on mecahnical keyboards because I was gifted a K380 bluetooth keyboard and it's better to type on than any mechanical switch I've ever typed on.

Attached: k380-multi-device-bluetooth-keyboard_1024x1024.png (652x560, 155K)

I'm building up and modding a cheapo keyboard to make the best of it, and am thinking of getting Gateron silent black switches for office use. Last thread, people were weary of the Gateron silent switches in particular.
Is there a specific reason for this asides from "huh it's not cherry, it's obv worse" or something like that?

Attached: large_3006_blackgat.jpg (1200x800, 88K)

Thanks user, I love it! I usually just run my telecaster and a reverb into it, sounds so good

a 10 year old Labtec with keys hard as nails

anyone care to recommend something? would prefer no shipping costs but so far i had no luck with that.

I'd love to find one. I'd be all over that like white on rice.

cherry G80, otherwise get some chink ISO keyboard and convert the layout yourself

sell them then dummy

I fell for the meme. Got myself an Unicomp Endura Pro.
It's a 200+ Euros piece of crap. Some keys do not register, some keys register twice.
I hate you all.
Mechanical keyboards are moronic.
The membrane keyboard in my office, from Dell, would be absolutely perfect if only it had trackpoint and ultra-nav.

Attached: endurapro.jpg (800x437, 140K)

>200 euros
>105USD on unicomp site
Weak bait.

>buys membrane keyboard
>says his old membrane is better

They're not all a meme. They do require some research as to which one is right for your individual needs. With so many switch and layout options out there, it may seem overwhelming and easy to purchase the wrong product. I did a fuck ton of reading up before I purchased my first one, a Vortex Poker 3. The only Unicomp I'd ever buy would be a true 87 key ssk, if I could ever find one. The Tex Yoda seems interesting, but I can never find one either. KUL makes descent models. HHKB offers some decent options as well.

tl;dr Do your homework and you probably wont be disappointed.

Maybe with shipping costs if user is in a remote area of Europe?

>shipping costs more than the board itself
Seems legit. Why you'd pay >=110yurobux in shipping for a board that's

I totally agree. I have heard of situations like this though. Albeit rare, I'd image some eurofags know this struggle.

gateron silents were a bit of a failure. They made them real scratchy to achieve that silence.

What's the keyboard in op's pic?

>Tada68 Edition
Gee, I wonder.

Tada68

that still doesn't make sense since Unicomp has official European partners

The membrane is bad. Either replace it or get a mechanical keyboard next time

Cherry mx brown switches are the best switches

I disagree. I'm no switch expert but out of all my boards the mx browns are my least favorite.

which are your favorites?

Probably Gateron black so far but I'm not digging it too much when I'm playing games.

Hi, Jow Forums!
What do you think about mine new keyboard?

Attached: IMG_0087.jpg (3264x2448, 2.31M)

looks like its slower then mine. I hope you didn't pay more then 20 bucks for a slow keyboard

Attached: 20160908_160815.jpg (4128x2322, 2M)

holy shit do you both have parkinsons

Keyboard looks like it's working, unlike your camera

I find this amusing

Dude it's just THAT fast.

Here's a genuine question. I fell for the meme and have a UK Filco Majestouch TKL. The enter key is like a kind of reverse capital P shape. Do keycap sets come with one of these? Getting tired of the black keys.

Yes, you need to get a set that's compatible with the ISO layout though. You might need to buy an additional ISO kit on top of a base set.

shit that must have -ms latency

You buy something you want, then you wait about 4 months for it to arrive. Sometimes longer.

wait for the next drop some time in the next couple years, or just buy one from reddit. Also you should be prepared to spend at least 150 bucks for one complete set

these keyboards are 60000wph fast
mine is 1000000wph fast and only cost 10 bucks from taobao

someone that went from cherry mx reds to topre 45g tell me your experience

My first board was mx reds, had a few more boards in between but ended up buying a Topre board and haven't looked back. I tried using a couple of mx boards since then but honestly I can't go back, topre just feels right to me.

We need more people in here posting their boards. Show us some keebs

how about three

topre is pretty overrated, but it's still much better than chery shit

thicc

I am about to pull a trigger on a whitefox kit, I am planning to use royal switches or jade kailh switches.

Before I do, is whitefox a meme board? I am pretty new to mkg but I am just planning to buy one good one so budget isn't really an issue.

Every board is a meme board. Just get the layout that you prefer.

Behold, the worlds most perfect keyboard.
>number pad and nav cluster on the left, as not to interfere with the mouse
>perfect beige colour
>big ass enter key
>Chad PS/2 interrupts instead of USB virgin serial wait/req.
>Futuba click switches, the benefits of the cherry MX mounts but without the scratchy/stiff feeling
>It was only $10 on craigslist within 2km of my house, within walking distance.
If any of you can beat this I would like to see it.

Attached: keyboard_lefty.jpg (1800x1013, 1.46M)

those are some shitty switches m8, also if it ain't split it's shit

>futaba
>shitty
pleb taste detected. They are like the perfect hybrid between bucking spring and something more modern/compact. Not even surprised you fell for the split meme too.

no they aren't, looks like you feel for the memes

Attached: IBM M15-2.jpg (1024x623, 161K)

your button count is cute

Attached: 20180515_214712.jpg (4032x2268, 2.63M)

>split keyboard
>not a meme
hahaha, do you actually thing that shit is ergonomic
>calls futaba shit
>posts shitty re-engineered and redesigned buckling spring hybrids that feel like shit and are way too light
anyone who has ever used one of those keyboards can tell you that they are an abortion.

needs more buttons
you know split keyboards are more ergonomic no matter what memes you believe
Also
membrane buckling springs > capacitive buckling springs
The extra weight makes it more tactile and more enjoyable to type on

Attached: 1nRp5UO.jpg (4032x3024, 1.12M)

I can verifiably say that your memes are objectively worse than my meme
>membrane buckling springs > capacitive buckling springs
>he actually believes this
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

Attached: IMG_20180515_205248706.jpg (2200x1238, 1.03M)

It's the truth, that's why the best mod you can do to your model F is to replace the springs with model M ones
or you can skip all those shitty switches and get topres instead

Attached: utron_keyboard_04.jpg (800x505, 112K)

>and get topres instead
Why would you get mushy, overpriced rubberdomes?

cause they're better

Attached: 1505329039460.png (407x396, 278K)

Fucking this. How many memes can this one retard fall for

Attached: IMG_20180515_210015624.jpg (1900x2676, 1.53M)
