First for ADD SOME FUCKING NEWS TO THE OP

>news
apollo isn't down HOLY SHIT

lol no it's not, scene CAM/TS hasn't been a thing this decade

link some examples on predb

lol there were some sporadic scene cam/ts releases in 13/14/15 but it mostly died before then. Besides foreign groups stealing shit off p2p. But even before then it was mostly just groups stealing video sources off p2p and syncing their own audio. They did great work for awhile and a few even had their own sources in the later days like 20th, ORC, etc. But P2P got better at it in the late 2000s early 2010s and has been the go to for that shit since. maVen even made a comeback as a p2p only group for a short while.

unironically watching cam rips hahahahaha

Right? You join PTs to wait to download shit but you can't wait for a Bluray to come out? Or just go to the cinema?

Yes, very good. We have donations this month.
Now people know we are serous about funding.

In 2018? lol no. I download them when friends or family ask me for them. I like to check them out to see how good of a job they did but I don't watch them usually. I watched that Jumanji TS that came out with my wife's family though and was kinda enjoying it. I was actually quite impressed with the quality of it.

Yeah I was actually just looking at it on archive.org. I went there almost every single day to check if there was something new out and read the comments.

This desu
Not to mention that PTs' slower pace of doing things helped me realize I need to do something else with my life in the meantime too

Is AHD dead?

I don't think anyone could understand unless they experienced the good quality ones we used to get on a regular basis. I never downloaded actual cams, you know with microphone audio. Just telesyncs. I remember one morning in 2004 begging my mom for $2 so I could go to the dollar store and buy 2 crappy CD-Rs, while I walked there Kill Bill Vol 2 was downloading. By noon that day I was watching it on the living room TV, a CRT of course. Back then I went through spindles of CD-Rs like it was nothing. I downloaded so much shit and private trackers weren't even a thing yet. Now most of the CAM and even TS copies are garbage. I wouldn't have watched those back then and I wouldn't even watch them now. But I'm always impressed when someone does a good job making one. It takes a fuck ton more effort to pull off a good CAM than it does to rip a blu ray.

Are "HD" camrips ever worth the download? 90% ones I've downloaded have always been pure shit.

Very rarely. Cam audio is cancer. Ever seen those pictures of porn stars without makeup? That's a cam with line audio. It makes that much of a difference. The other thing that can destroy the quality of a camera sourced copy is a movie with too many dark scenes. A very good quality camera can make the difference there but it's 2018, you take what you can get these days.

A cam without line audio I meant to say

The TS would be more like the pornstar with makeup

Good shit but the beat is loud asf

>Since we have two releases available, one with superior video (Avengers Infinity War 2018 NEW PROPER 720p HD-CAM X264 HQ-LPG) and one with superior audio (Avengers: Infinity War 2018 720p TS x264 AAC TiTAN):

>If you need help let me know!

The absolute state of Cam/TS releases in 2018...

Take off the rose tinted glasses, cam/TS were never good. You're just nostalgiabating.

t. not watched a cam since Rush Hour & Mulan, but still downloaded them for friends for nearly 10 years after that.

>mfw didnt feel like waiting 2 months for dvd release and im now literally watching the 'new proper' cam rip of avengers

its not THAT bad. you get used to the shit quality after about 10 minutes.

This made me wonder. Physically going to the movies is very fucking inconvenient. Why doesn't Netflix offer some type of service that lets you pay $10~12 to watch a movie online?

>release movie same day as cinemas
>it gets pirated
>1080p WEB-DL copies everywhere on day1
>this hurts opening weekend sales
Never ever going to happen with movies that get cinema releases
Piracy after 1-2 months helps them as it hypes you up for their next movie that you might actually pay for (its why all the very successful movies on the past 10 years are all generally sequels)

Cause then people would just rip it like they do every show on Netflix and upload it everywhere and studios would lose a shit ton of money.

GGn's dead

>Why doesn't Netflix offer some type of service that lets you pay $10~12 to watch a movie online?

Lol their current service needs to cost like $50 a month for that to happen.

Also, Disney is going to take all those movies and put them on their own Netflix-type service.

>is going to
It already has

The problem with that belief is if someone wants to pirate the movie they will.
People watched IT with god awful watermarks. It's not about quality.
Those who go to the cinemas don't even know about torrents, they wouldn't loose any money.

wait until that Martin Scorcese movie comes out on Netflix. That will be the real test of whether movies can be distributed that way.

And wait until everybody on private trackers zerg rushes to rip it.

>1080p WEB-DL
They wouldn't offer an option to download it then. Stream only. And you can only watch it once.

>Cause then people would just rip it like they do every show on Netflix
How do they rip shows which Netflix doesn't offer as downloads, record their desktops while it's playing? That'd result in some garbage quality. Probably better than camrips but still shit.

>Lol their current service needs to cost like $50 a month for that to happen.
I was thinking you just pay per movie

and that's a good thing

>They wouldn't offer an option to download it then. Stream only. And you can only watch it once.
You know people would still rip it right?

Wait, is Irishman not coming out to cinemas?
Im definitely not paying for Netflix but I hoped I could watch it on a big screen

Bring back 6 hour FL

>How do they rip shows which Netflix doesn't offer as downloads, record their desktops while it's playing? That'd result in some garbage quality. Probably better than camrips but still shit.
They use special hardware that makes Netflix think it's a TV, but it's actually recording everything

>record their desktops while it's playing
Yes I already mentioned they'd be using a recording program, but the quality would be limited to their desktop resolution and they'd have to wait while it recorded the entire movie.

>They wouldn't offer an option to download it then. Stream only. And you can only watch it once.

yeah their encryption has been cracked for some time now so pretty much every movie can be downloaded like you can do with a webm on Jow Forums.

Streaming IS downloading.

...

>Wait, is Irishman not coming out to cinemas?

Not unless Netflix buys a movie theater.

>65955712
(You)
p WEB-DL
>They wouldn't offer an option to download it then. Stream only. And you can only watch it once.
IMPLYING you cant get around that
>only watch it once
So what, youd gave the element of surprise over like... 100 people? Its not the middle ages, you find shit like that out in a matter of hours (if not weeks prior that I am certain Netflix would announce such a change)

Got any ideas on anything special I need to do to take advantage of this?

What do you mean? Every exclusive movie and TV show on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc has been cracked, downloaded and dumped on the trackers we use.

>Bring back 6 hour FL
Omg a thousand times this.

Attached: 1482344945107.jpg (3504x2336, 2.68M)

>need to do to take advantage of this
1) Get on HDB and BTN
2) Download NF/AMZN/HULU WEB-DLs
3) ????

No they haven't.
Popular ones sure, but there's quite a few that I've never seen on any tracker.

I know, because a friend of mine wants me to download a bunch of uncommon shows and they aren't on fucking IPT/BTN.

is steam version on ggn yet?

Attached: DcWB-61WsAI0nKA.png (300x300, 193K)

>requests.php

Request them, then. Also, name them.

No that's retarded. We're using the same sources. If the trackers don't have it then nobody else in the this thread is going to have it.

>quite a few that I've never seen on any tracker.
BTN and HDB both have WEB-DL request threads. Ask in there and someone will grab it for you.

This post lowered my IQ by 10 points, and it wasn't that high to begin with

What the fuck are you even talking about, nigger? Are you drunk? Name the shows you want so people can help you here, and then request them on the trackers you're on.

Literal brainlet

What are your group preferences? For movies I generally go D-ZON3 > NCmt > ZQ > whatever has the most snatches in the quality I want that isn't scene, is from a respectable group and doesn't have anything about it that makes it likely to be trumped.

That's dumb. I compare releases every time.

heh

Depends on how picky you are. I mean if you expect perfection then you will never be happy with them. But a watchable copy of a movie in the theaters with good audio will always be great to me. The old days offered that week after week. Now it rarely happens and while I appreciate when it does it's not as important to me as it used to be. The more people say "you just HAVE to watch this capeshit in the cinema to truly appreciate the special effects" the more I want to watch a decent TS of it and not spend my money. I don't care about seeing something like that on bluray. Same with most comedy movies or computer generated animation. Is my life going to be better because the picture was slightly less blurry when I watched it? No. The example I gave from before, Kill Bill, I wouldn't download something like that as a TS these days unless I was hyped the fuck up about the movie like I was that one. I watched Volume 1 first on a TC which looked great then the Japanese dvdrip which is still the best way to watch it. Had to see it ASAP. Anyway I have respect for everyone involved in making those kinds of copies. I like seeing actual effort put into things rather than just rip and release. Same goes for the people on HDB splicing together multiple sources to make the best possible encodes. I didn't think I needed to be on that tracker and I thought scene bluray rips were good enough for me until somebody pointed that stuff out. Same also goes for the work that goes into PBTHAL vinyl rips and even everyone who isn't as good but still puts lots of effort in. Anyone can go to their local library and check out CDs to rip but doing a good vinyl rip takes effort. Same goes for people that crack games too, that takes not just effort but talent.

If I was banned on IPT. Am I IP banned or just account. Could I just buy my way back in?

yeah or you could get invited again. just use a different email.

Probably just account and you can probably buy your way back in. Depends on what you did. If it was bad enough I look forward to laughing at the IRC log later.

don't buy an invite to this scam tracker get it from somewhere else

why did you get banned?

Give the poor user a bit of time while he goes and searches every fucking show on Netflix until he finds one to prove that "H-hah! Here's one you don't have", since he clearly wasn't prepared for someone to ask him to prove his claim.
Cute user, but should still fuck right off forever.

Probably pissed someone off in a forum.

also theyre not really rare

What's the best BTN stylesheet, /ptg/?

Is there some automated tool that
1) extracts the filenames from a torrent
2) searches google for each filename
3) iterates through sites that it knows how to handle through templates/site-specific scripts
4) tries to download the file(s) through that site
5) checks the file(s) against the torrent for a match

Cross-seeding is tedious as fuck.

Why would you do all that? Just download on one tracker and seed on another.

That would require the other PT having the exact same file though.

Which is rarely the case because of differing compression/versions.

It only works for Google because it indexes many sites, so one of them is bound to have the same version.

9 times out of 10 it's the same exact files on different trackers. Either scene releases or like HDB/BTN stuff. I cross seed shit that way all the time. Smartest thing to do is grab from a ratioless tracker and seed on one with ratio.

no but anyone could easily write this

>9 times out of 10 it's the same exact files on different trackers. Either scene releases or like HDB/BTN stuff.

That works for videos, which are usually single-file releases that people don't modify because there's no point.

It doesn't work at all for VNs/games/software, which people can't seem to help but repackage for some retarded as fuck reason.

The other issue with VNs/games/software is versioning, there are many legitimate but slightly differing versions of the same shit because devs releases updates.

Video doesn't seem to have an issue with this. People are good with distinguishing between release/scene groups, and release format/source (e.g. Amazon/TV/BD)

Another day another 1 gb uploaded to

>HDB/BTN uploaders have hacks to download from netflix and amazon
>take their time putting out shows
>never do some at all and let scene groups pick up where they left off with leaked versions of the tools they use

It's pretty hilarious really. Hoarding the tools and making sure specific people can claim shows keeps backfiring on them.

do you see some of me in your reflection?

Attached: jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj.jpg (644x970, 68K)

How is that "backfiring" on them?

When you can download amazon rips of the latest shows faster from scene or general trackers than you can BTN or HDB sometimes it doesn't seem like that smart of a policy.... They spend all that money for something that can be done by someone else faster and more efficiently. They could easily divide up the tasks between different rippers rather than have the same person doing the same show every week. If someone isn't available for some reason someone else should be able to pick it up. They could share Amazon cookies with each other just like they encourage people to do in the request threads. But they won't because you know, that would actually make sense...

where are my tokens zed you monster

VietHD > All

Stupid question:
if I cross-seed eg. a movie from tracker A to tracker B since on A is freeleech and on B is not, does H&R rules on minimum seeding time apply on tracker B?

It didn't register the download on B since I already had the file, so how does this works?

You do not incur a H&R on tracker B

That depends on if tracker B requires a minimum seed time for snatches or for everything. Most trackers only require you to fulfil seeding requirements for snatches=no H&R when crossseeding.

I actually have a folder of about 300 VCD movies from back in the day, used to even trade U.S to Australia on big orders of 30 or so more movies since it was impossible to download them here at the time on Cdrsoftcc or something. Then have the latest and greatest in my region and sell that shit in high school.

Think about uploading them sometimes for the lols.

Some of them are interesting to some people. Workprints obviously. In the case of the Star Wars movies George Lucas altered them before they were released on dvd and bluray so the telesyncs are the only decent source of some footage.

only myspleen would take it

They banned workprints though didn't they? That content is gold though. I'd love to be on a tracker that had that kind of material.

Got it, thank you.

Any chance you got this one? Jay.and.Silent.Bob.Strike.Back.WS.WORKPRINT-TWCiSO

I'd love to see it again, would be a great fit for myspleen.

When a bot is offline in #bookz, can I just leave the client on background and it will start the download automatically when the bot comes online?

What VPN should I use?

Yeah? Why the rush?

Because if a show is out I want to watch it now not later. If the plebs on rarbg are enjoying it already but it's not on the top torrent trackers are they really the top torrent trackers anymore? Of course they're still great for the retention, organization, everything else but others are starting to eat their lunch when it comes to the latest and greatest.
