It’s not a viable metric because a majority of people dont close their apps each time they exit them. iOS has excellent RAM management. A program that has not been killed exists within RAM. I bet if they showed which app opens the fastest while already existing in RAM, the iPhone would win consistently.

Why did I say they invented any of that? They have popularized and made widely accesible each of those things- while improving them with excellent software.
Inventing something doesnt mean you’re the best at it or that what you invented can only be improved by you.

iOS dev here who stress tests his target devices:

1.) iPhones have insane CPU ST and MT performance however they have poor cooling which cause thermal throttling to prevent damage to the battery

2.) iPhones just simply don't have enough RAM so as you load more apps iOS has to kill apps to preserve system stability. This isn't too bad at first but over time apps generate cache and this takes up more RAM as the app is being used.

All this aside this doesn't make iPhones a bad investment if you really want one. At the end of the day it's either a $1,000 LG/Samsung/iPhone flagship you're getting on a $40/month lease or on credit. You're all dumbfucks either way for not buying a cheap phone that does 99% of what flagships do with cash.

This so much. My Redmeme 4 Prime has a 4000 mAh battery. It cost me $150. I recently bought a Motorola Moto 4 Plus on sale for one of my nephews. It's got a 5000 mAh battery. I paid around $100 for it. Both these phones outlast the iPhone 8's I bought for two nieces by a really wide margin. And by wide margin I mean that the iphone's are empty by the time we arrive at the family cabin and the Motorola lasts the entire weekend. Of course, there is one small down-side: weight. So it is somewhat a matter of preference, I prefer not having to run to the charger every few hours.
